Distracted driving from cell phone use is a major safety problem, causing thousands of accidents and deaths each year. A proposed solution called the SHUD (super head up display) would use voice commands to display information like maps, messages and alerts on a car's windshield using devices already carried by drivers like phones and tablets. The concept involves connecting devices to the car via Bluetooth, WiFi and USB to allow voice control and access functions and apps through the car's interface without requiring the driver to look away from the road.
