Cell phone use while driving poses significant risks. 25% of car accidents are caused by distractions, and 85% of cell phone users talk or text while driving. Texting is the most dangerous cell phone activity, taking a driver's eyes off the road for over 4 seconds per text. From 2003-2006 in Pennsylvania, 50 deaths resulted from cell phone related car accidents. Nationally, over 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries are caused each year from cell phone use while driving.
