3. • Digital Government – a
simple term, but what
does it mean?
1. Digital government — also called e-government or virtual government —
refers to governance affected by Internet use and other information
technologies (IT).
2. Digital government is typically defined as the production and delivery of
information and services inside government and between government and
the public using a range of information and communication technologies

•G2G : Government to Government

• Online transactions ( Payments )
• Revenue collection, payments of utility bills
• Online complaints
• Track and Trace system : e citizen traces can trace all his own complaints and submitted
cases and can get online updated information ( case situation, any objection, rejection
or approval. )
• Citizen Registration : Birth and marriage registration, Id card, Domicile Driving license,
Job matching, Land use application.
GOVERNMENT TO CITIZEN
(G2C ) :
Involves all of the interactions
between government to its citizens
that can take place electronically. The
major area of activities are research
and education, download forms,
discovery of government services,
information about public policy etc.
Electronic voting : an electronic
system that allows a voter to record
his or her secure and secret ballot
electronically.
8. GOVERNMENT TO GOVERNMENT ( G2G ) :

10. GOVERNMENT TO EMPLOYEES ( G2E ) :
Government to employees is a category that includes activities and services between
government units and their employees. Application in this government to employees
category are specially useful in enabling efficient communication.
Another category is IEE this is an internal initiative that provides tool for improving the
effectiveness and efficiency of government operations, and the process basically intra-
business applications implemented in government units.

11. M-GOVERNMENT :
Mobile Government refers to collection of services as the strategic use of
government services and applications which are only possible using cellular /
mobile phones, laptop, personal digital assistance and wireless internet
infrastructure.
Mobile Government is the wireless implementation of e-government mostly to
citizens but also to the business. It uses wireless infrastructure and devices and
enables the government to reach large number of citizens.
12. SOCIAL MEDIA :
• Social Media refers to online platforms and tools that people use to share
opinions, experiences, insights, and perception with each others.
• Social media enables people to share information with friends and colleges using
the internet.
• It make many forms including text , images, videos, or audio.
• It is the media that is designed to be shared, sharing means that is easy to
comment on, that it is easy to send, there are no costs associated with viewing
the media and last but not least it is always available.
13. SOCIAL NETWORKING AND SOCIAL COMMERCE :
• Social Networking is the use of communities to engage with
others : Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, Twitter. Social Networking
sites often include social media tools to facilitate the interaction
and conversion.
• Social commerce is the delivery of e-commerce activities and
transactions through social networks and / or via web 2.0
software.
