Shoshone Falls, also known as the Niagara of the West, is a waterfall located on the Snake River in southern Idaho. There is a small parking fee to enter the park and view the falls from the top parking lot, which provides a first glimpse but does not do justice to the power and roar of the falls. Deeper in the park, viewing platforms and trails allow visitors to observe the full width and height of the falls dropping over 200 feet into the canyon below. The park encompasses over 200 acres and also features historical sites and natural areas along the Centennial Trail.
