CALIDENA is a participatory approach that brings together value chain actors to incorporate quality management practices. It involves a preparation phase, a 3-day workshop where participants analyze the value chain and identify quality issues, and an action planning phase. Relevant public and private stakeholders participate, including businesses and support institutions. The goal is for participants to develop and commit to an action plan for quality improvements in the post-workshop phase. Host organizations are important for facilitating the process and supporting improvements after the workshop concludes.
