Four Quartets And The Four Quartets
Einstein s theory of Relativity hinges on two axioms: the laws of physics are the same for all
frames of reference, and the speed of light in a vacuum is constant. In his famous train thought
experiment, Einstein proved that the order of events depends on the location of the observer. In
essence, he proved time dilation: or the phenomena that time bends and contracts. Eventually, he
realized time dilation is a necessary consequence of keeping the speed of light in a vacuum constant
everywhere in the universe, leading him to eventually conclude that space and time are not
separate, distinct entities, but one linked dimension: spacetime. This single dimension, because it
stretches and contracts, allows for unusual interactions between space... Show more content on

He chases this unformed notion, until at last in The Dry Salvages, he releases his own David from
the marble block of uncertainty. The hint half guessed, the gift half understood, is/ Incarnation.
/Here the impossible union/of spheres of existence is actual,/ Here past and future/ Are conquered,
and reconciled, . The Incarnation provides the only instance wherein time and eternity collide, and
co exist. The Incarnation allows time past, time present, and time yet to come a simultaneous
existence. However, the implications of simultaneity drastically change reality, both for Einstein
and for Eliot. Einstein s theory allowed for strange realizations, such as light is both a particle and
a wave at the same time and in the same way, which seems to break the foundational law of non
contradiction. Eliot s realization that the Incarnation redeems all time by allowing it all to exist
together, seems to face the same problem. However, this seemingly self referential absurdity may
spring from nothing more than the frame of reference from within which Eliot and Einstein work.
Just as time and eternity are separate and distant entities to the normal observer, the observer on the
event horizon sees them as the same thing simultaneously. Perhaps, when viewed from the frame of
reference of the Incarnation, these absurdities resolve into clarity, for here the impossible union of
spheres of existence is

Essay on The Life of Sir Isaac Newton
Over the centuries, math has evolved in an astounding way. Since the beginning of time, there have
been many mathematicians that has influenced and contributed to the math we know today. None
compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work.
Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his
father s death, Newton was born premature and was not expected to survive. After his father s
death, his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. His stepfather didn t seem to like him, so he
was then sent away to live with his grandmother. At the age of eleven, his stepfather died. After the
death, he decided to move back home with his mother.

In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master s
degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge.
Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he
watched an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was
also the force that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory
that is described in Newton s law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object.
His doubt wasn t about the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the
moon in its orbit. He figured that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate
the Moon s orbital period. He figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in
the orbit and with his hypothesis; he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many
trials and errors he could not get his calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his
error, he had been using the wrong formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth.
According to Harper (2006), Newton s distinction between absolute and relative motion is based on
his laws of motion, which he described as accepted by mathematicians and confirmed by
experiments of many kinds . His distinctions between absolute and relative

Examples Of Archetypal Criticism
CHAPTER II Archetypal criticism
The roots of archetypal criticism
Archetypal criticism is a type of literary criticism that focuses on particular narrative patterns,
archetypes, motifs, themes or characters that recur in a particular literary work or in literature in
general.
Archetypal criticism has its basis in the application of concepts developed in psychoanalysis and in
mythology to the study of literature. The main tendency of this approach to criticism resembles to
the early conception of form in Western thought.
Collective unconscious lays beneath the personal conscious and personal unconscious. As Jung
said, the collective unconscious is a storehouse of knowledge, experiences, and images of the
human race. It is a racial memory, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Joseph Campbell says in his popular book The Power of Myth: Myths deal with great human
problems. I know what to do when I come to a threshold in my life now. A myth can tell me
about it, how to respond to certain crises of disappointment or delight or failure or success.
Myths tell me where I am. (1988, 15) An archetype can be defined as an original type or model
after which similar things are patterned, a prototype, an ideal example. An archetype, as used in
literature, is a recurrent, universal pattern that evokes a deep, emotional response invirtually all
readers as it strikes a chord in their unconscious memory. The archetype has no form of its own, but
it acts as an organizing principle on the things we see or do. It works the way that instincts work in
Freud s theory.
For Jung the archetypes taken as a whole represent the sum of the latent potentialities of the human
psyche a vast store of ancestral knowledge about the profound relations between God, man, and
cosmos. Jacobi

The results of analysis of variance (Table 3) showed that there were significant differences
between lines in the probability of 1% in terms of all traits; which indicating a high genetic
variation for studied lines. Existence significant differences and genetic variation among
genotypes of lentil by other authors such as Mostafaei et al, (2006), Bayoumi (2008) and Toklu
et al, (2009) have also been reported. Kumar et al, (2012) by studying 43 genotypes of lentil
under field conditions found high diversity for biological yield, seed yield and harvest index.
Ruisi et al, (2015) worked on 15 accessions of lentil during two years and stated that high
variation existed among genotypes in terms of pheno morphological and agronomic traits. In the
present study, most (21.54%) and lowest (4.79%) values of the coefficient of variation of error
was observed in biological yield and days to flowering, respectively. The mean of superior lines
(Table 4) showed that a specific pure line with high values for all traits not found; but desirable
pure lines in terms of phenological traits, stem diameter, number of pods per plant, plant height
and seed yield were observed. Line No. 20 (ILL590) with large leaf length, high numbers of pods
per plant, more stem diameter, fewer days to flowering and maturity and high seed yield known as
the superior line on weather conditions of Shahrekord, Iran. After that, line No. 28 (ILL947) was

Emily Dickinson s Impact On American Poetry
Emily Dickinson is one of the most famous poets that has ever lived, next to Shakespeare and
Edgar Allan Poe. Interestingly, Dickinson published less than ten poems before she died. Although
Dickinson never saw any success in her lifetime, she still made a huge impact on American poetry
today. Emily and Edward Dickinson gave birth to Emily Dickinsonon December 10, 1830 (Emily
Dickinson s Bio). She was an exceptionally well educated for a woman at the time and attended
Amherst Academy for seven years. Even though Dickinson attended the seminary, she did not join
the Calvinist church, which her whole family was a part of. She struggled with the idea of original
sin and just could not accept the severity of beliefs Her rejection of

Sacred Hoops
Phil Jackson coached the Chicago Bulls basketball team to one of the longest winning streaks in
professional sports. In his book, Sacred Hoops, he describes his approach to coaching a group of
acknowledged stars. He clearly understands that simply collecting a set of outstanding players does
not a championship team make. One way of understanding his approach is to think of every
problem or project having components in four different spheres:
1.Mental, logical, scientific, technical
2.Systems or how the parts all connect and interact
3.Emotional, feelings, intuition
4.Ethical, spiritual and issues of being.

Following a career as a player Jackson applied his understanding to coaching basketball teams. You
can t expect a team to perform in a way that is out of tune with its natural abilities, so empowering
individuals even superstars to mindfully acknowledge their true abilities and accept what they can
and can t change moves any team toward a greater cohesion. Focusing on the awareness of the
moment, instilling the notions of selflessness in action and the value of compassion towards fellow
players are some of the teachings that Jackson provided for his players.
Somehow I never associated the competitive world of a professional sport with Zen practice but
clearing the mind and opening the heart is just as relevant there as anywhere else. In dealing with
the high pressure situation of highly paid athletes constantly under media scrutiny Jackson, via his
practice has been able to reflect on his own actions, look into his essential nature and find solutions
to all sorts of problems the Tao of Authority leads him.
Zen is life, so why not let the eightfold path lead you to a method of coaching basketball? Even if
right action means calling it quits sometimes and it involves losing. As Jackson says, I used to
believe that the day I could accept defeat was the day I would have to give up my job. But losing
is as integral a part of the dance as winning. Buddhism teaches us that by accepting death, you
discover life. Similarly, only by acknowledging the

The Banning Of Movies On Lgbt, Religion, Laws, And History
The recent banning of movies with the reason of them containing homosexual contents have started
a wave of ridicule of authorities and their justification. Over the years, several movies were banned
in the United States for the same reason as well. Such examples include American Beauty, But I m a
Cheerleader, Rent, Brokeback Mountain, and Bruno. Besides movies, anything and everything else
on the media have been closely monitored by the authorities. Authorities in certain countries,
especially Middle Eastern countries, have even gone to the lengths of labelling homosexualityas
illegal by law. This not only affects the thinking of citizens of those countries, but also oppress
people that identify as LGBTQ in those respective countries.... Show more content on

Furthermore, the word homosexual is a socially constructed word. According to Creech, sexuality
was only explored towards the end of the 19th century through psychoanalysts as they believed that
sexuality helps understand human personality better. All in all, The Bible encourages a loving,
mutual, caring, committed relationship . Understanding this, churches are beginning to grow more
accepting towards the LGBTQ community (Murphy).
Indic religions, or Dharmic religions, such as Hinduism and Buddhism, do not express strong
opinions on homosexuality. In fact, a third gender is mentioned in an ancient Hindu legal text
called Manu Smriti. This excerpt explains the third gender as such:
A male child is produced by a greater quantity of male seed, a female child by the prevalence of the
female; if both are equal, a third sex child or boy and girl twins are produced; if either are weak or
deficient in quantity, a failure of conception results (3.49).
The third gender is also defined as not procreative according to The Vedas, a Hindu scripture.
However, it is viewed negatively as the third gender is usually affiliated with low class as
described in ancient text (Gyatso). Interestingly, members of the third sex are not frowned upon
even though some ancient Hindu law books describe non vaginal sex as impure. Kama Sutra, a

Examples Of Marketing Ethics In The Body Shop
Marketing Ethics The Body Shop
Introduction
This essay is about discussing the ethicality of a company s marketing activity. First of all, it needs
to be defined what ethical activity is. Ethical marketing can bring advantages and disadvantages to
the company. It can help to improve the brand image of the company and develop a trust with the
customers. On the other hand, it cannot ensure that can increase the company s sales or have a
possibility to increase the advertising cost. In the following discussion, an international cosmetic
firm, The Body Shop, is chosen to be the target.
Marketing activity of The Body Shop
The Body Shop put a great effort into ethical marketing. It is doing several campaigns which are
related to ethics including Against AnimalTesting, Support Community Fair Trade, Activate Self
Esteem, Defend Human Rights and Protect The Planet. These are also the values of the company.
And now, it is going to discuss two selected ethical marketing activities of them, which are Against
Animal Testing and Support Community Fair Trade .
Against Animal Testing
It is known that most of the cosmetic products need to be tested for safety reasons before
publishing. Some companies are testing their products on animals that cause the animals suffering
cruelties. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ethical activities can bring benefits to them. These help to build a trustful relationship with the
consumers, improve the corporate image and cultivate the loyalty of the customers through the
ethical marketing. Furthermore, it can draw people s attention on the animal testing affair and
arouse their awareness when buying cosmetic products. One hand the suppliers and workers can
have a fair trading, on the other hand, they can create the new product line for the organic products
and build the positive image to the consumers. Both of them can gain benefits from the ethical

Proposed Changes Of Medicaid Expansion On Florida And...
Proposed Changes There have been a few proposed changes to Medicaid Expansion in Florida
and other states. These proposed changes have included 1915 and 1115 waivers, including long
term care programs. Florida has an uninsured rate of 20 percent (Rose, 2015). This represents a
great need for insurance coverage expansion and cost savings in Florida. Previous proposed
changes have been successful in some aspects, but do not answer all of these elements.
Many forms of 1915 and 1115 waivers have been proposed and implemented in Florida and other
states in the past. According to Holahan, Coughlin, Lipson, Rajan (1995), the section 1115 research
and demonstration waivers are designed to allow states to develop new solutions to health and
welfare problems. The federal government may waive some standard Medicaid rules if the change
is deemed to be budgetary, no higher than it would have been expected without the waiver
(Holahan et al., 1995). States using these waivers have proposed to save money by using managed
care plans for current Medicaid patients, and limiting the cost of new Medicaid enrollees (Holahan
et al., 1995).
These proposals often focus on using hospital DSH payments to expand coverage rather than using
these sums to make payments to hospitals, using savings from reductions in other programs, or
proposing new revenues (Holahan et al., 1995). The goal is to expand coverage at small new costs
to the government (Holahan et al., 1995). The key features of

Breakdown Of The Legislative Process
Breakdown of the Legislative Process: In the current political climate in the Iowa Statehouse
can be very toxic for bills that are novel and are trying to push the envelope on issues. Currently,
House is where these types of bills go to die. There is very little support for progressive
legislation in the House. With Republicans having a 57 to 43 Democratic margin in the House; it
would be best to start the bill in the Senate. While margin of the majority in the Senate is much
closer, with 26 Democrats to 24 Republicans, it will not be easy to pass this bill in the Senate, but
there passage has much better odds. Because the Democrats hold the majority in the Senate,
committee leaders are Democrats. If the bill is to have any chance at... Show more content on

This means that passing a law that has environmental issues would be easier in the Senate than
in the Republican controlled House. To get the bill started we would need to persuade Dick
Dearden, the Chair of the Natural Resources Committee. This would allow the bill to have as
little attention as possible, because Natural Resources tends to be a noncontroversial committee,
where many issues are passed out of committee on unanimously. Senator Dearden is also the
perfect person for the job. He has seen the effects that regulation can have on the environment. In
a conversation with the Senator he said that when he was younger he had to clean off toilet
paper off his fishing line when fishing in the Des Moines River. I believe that he would support
green infrastructure conservation issues such as this because he knows that water quality is a
major issue in the state. Another reason why Senator Dearden is the best starting place for this
bill is because he is retiring, he won t have to face reelection in 2016. This means that he can
handle politically hot issues without any repercussions in the election cycle. The Natural
Resources ranking member is Senator Ken Rozenboom, and getting him to sign off on the bill will
be more difficult because he is very conservative. This is where we are going

I grew up in the St. Louis suburb of Eureka, where I still live today. If you ever look at me and
wonder where that scar on my forehead came from, well it happened when I was roughly 12
months old when I fell out of a moving car. My parents raised me as a Methodist at the Eureka
United Methodist Church. During my years attending Geggie Elementary School, every Sunday
my parents would force me to get out of bed and go to Church with them. During church, all the
children would go to Sunday school while the parents were listening to the sermon. In Sunday
school, we had a teacher, sometimes my mom, who would give out fun church related activities.
However, I did not enjoy doing that mostly because it involved getting out of bed early and since I
did not like the subject matter either, but at that age, children do not fully grasp the importance of

[Comprehensive business Analysis: Office Depot]|
Background
Office Depot was founded in 1986 by F. Patrick Sher, Stephen Dougherty and Jack Kopkin in
Boca Raton, Florida. The three envisioned a warehouse style store that could offer office
supplies at discounted prices. The first store was opened in October in Fort Lauderdale. It was
immediately successful and before the year was over, two more stores were opened in Florida.
While Office Depot was one of the first companies to tap into this new market, they were not the
only ones. Rivals, Staples and Office Club, both opened their first stores within three months of
Office Depot. All had the same basic strategy: Buy products directly from manufacturers rather than

into Switzerland, Spain and Portugal in 2002 and through its Mexican joint venture partner Grupo
Gigante, S.A. de C.V. into Costa Rica and Guatemala. In 2003, the acquisition of their licensee in
Hungary and Guibert S.A. in France helped the company set a solid foundation for future growth in
Europe.
Neil R. Austrian took over as interim CEO in 2004 and the company restated its commitment to
find ways to improve financial performance and growth. Advertising was a big focus of 2005 and
the Office Depot reintroduced its slogan Taking Care of Business . They also announced a multi
year agreement with NASCAR to become the sport s first ever Official Office Supply Partner.
That same year Steve Odland was hired as Chairman and CEO.
Continuing growth overseas highlighted the next years. The company s presence not only grew in
Europe, but also expanded through mergers, licensing agreements and acquisitions to many parts
of Asia and even the Middle East. Today the company is still growing and is opening state of the
art stores in new untapped markets. In 2010, Neil Austrian reassumed the job of interim CEO and
despite rumors of a possible buyout continues to guide the company s expansion.

Service Shows More than Patriotism The healthcare reform debate has been on the minds of
many Americans in recent years. Democrats have worked to put Obamacare in place in 2009
and want to fix issues using the existing platform. Many Republicans are currently working to
repeal and replace Obamacare with Trumpcare. The healthcare debate has come to a standstill in
Congress as deep party lines persist. In August 2017, following the fights over the universal
healthcare debate, TCA Regional News reported that Democrat Amy McGrath is running for

This is another image used to demonstrate the American army s protection and promote
patriotism. The value of patriotism is seen throughout military and American flag images in the
advertisement. The value of nontraditional gender roles is subtly seen through the auditory and
visual illustrations in the advertisement. Amy McGrath explains that in a previous experience of
hers, her local Congressman wrote to her that he believed that women should not be allowed to
serve in combat as the image of the letter appears on screen with the parts mentioned highlighted.
McGrath explains that she persisted and joined the Naval Academy anyway. This appeals to
nontraditional gender roles because it persuades the viewers that McGrath is different because
she is a woman who broke the mold in a male dominated area. McGrath is also seen with having
short hair and wearing a dark bomber jacket, white button up, and loose pants. McGrath is
noticeably not wearing much make up and has simple earrings and a wedding band. By wearing
non feminine clothes, McGrath appeals to value of nontraditional gender roles. McGrath is shown
to walking with her husband and young children down a grassy hill. McGrath is seen in a bright
pink shirt and khaki dress pants while holding her husband s hand. Her husband is wearing a blue
button up shirt and dark dress pants while holding their toddler. Twin preschooler boys, dressed in
the same blue polo and khaki shorts, run and play in front of their parents.

Cause and Effect of Reconstructing the Rizal Monument in Luneta
I.Introduction
The Rizal Monument located in Luneta Park should not be reconstructed because it is costly and it
does not promote the preservation of the historical landmark.
The researchers of the study aims to answer the following questions: 1. What are the possible causes
for the reconstruction of the Rizal Monument located in Luneta Park to occur? 2. Will there be a
significant impact of reconstructing the Rizal Monument located in Luneta Park?
This study is focused only to the monument of Dr. Jose P. Rizal located in the Luneta Park, Roxas

Luneta, underwent many changes through out the years. The original structure of the monument
was built in 1820 and was finished in 1913, but due to the war between the Japanese and the

The reconstruction was important, for the structure reminds us that once we had a brave hero who

a part of the itinerary for historical and educational trips for the reason that important events that
marked our culture and tradition can be seen in this park (Reyes, 2011).
Furthermore, because of the beauty of Rizal Park it today many couples are dating here because it

As for the said cause, it is understood that the park needs reconstruction from time to time to

tubes that can expand through several feet of tissue and be .7mm in diameter. Their walls are
thickened with cellulose deposits. Xylem bring water up to the leaves and petals of the plant. Even
without contact with the roots, the xylem can still absorb water. Because of this, a cut flower
usually doesn t die for a couple days (as long as it is placed in water of course).
The fluid inside of the plants is transported by capillary action. Capillary action is caused by
surface tension and adhesion. Adhesion is an attraction between two substances of different states
(such as a liquid and a solid). An example ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Beauty Of The Yard
Mesmerizing beauty of the yard:
Gazing out of my bedroom window one night, I witnessed a breathtaking view of the yard. As if
you are transferred into a fairy tale. The sky seemed like a piece of beautiful painting. The whole
ambiance of the space was captivating. The fluffy clouds were dancing around the moon making
the light falling on the ground to glimmer dramatically. By the passing time the cloud shift shapes
into something new and exciting each time. The stone pathway led one to the exquisite marble
fountain. The soft moonlight hitting the marble make it shine as white as pearls. The moonlight
made everything, the flowers the tree leaves and bushes all glittered like jewels. A light breeze
was making the branches dance to their own rhythm. The cool wind carrying the smell of the
flowers was a reminder of a spring day. The chirping of night life added more life to the whole
scenario. The soothing environment of the yard portrayed the idea of how the heaven must look like.

scarier. The stone pathway led one to a dirty and broken marble fountain. The little light that
manages to pass through the clouds highlights the broken fountain more revealing its flaws. The
moonlight escaping the clutches of the clouds cast terrifying shadows. The cold breeze sways the

The Scientific Revolution Of Western Civilizations
During the seventeenth century, the scientific revolution in Europe was at its peak, changing
people s lives through the new techniques of the scientific method. Citizens of western civilizations
had previously used religion as the lens through which they perceived their beliefs and customs in
their communities. Before the scientific revolution, science and religion were intertwined, and
people were taught to accept religious laws and doctrines without questioning; the Church was the
ultimate authority on how the world worked. However, during this revolution, scientists were
inspired to learn and understand the laws of the universe had created, a noble and controversial
move toward truth seeking. The famous scientists of the time, such as Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo
and Newton, were known to be natural philosophers, intending to reveal God s mystery and
understand (through proof) the majesty of God. Throughout previous centuries, people had
hypothesized how the world and natural phenomenon may work, and new Protestant ideals
demanded constant interrogation and examination. Nevertheless, some of these revelations went
against the Church s teachings and authority. If people believed the Church could be wrong, then
they could question everything around them, as well. As a result, the introduction of the scientific
method, a process by which scientists discovered and proved new theories, was revolutionary
because it distinguished what could be proved as real from what was simply

Rhetorical Analysis Of Trifles

Trifles Rhetoric Essay
5.30.17
The one act play Trifles, by Susan Glaspell, tells the story of a group of people attempting to
figure out the murder of a man in their neighborhood. The main suspect in the case is the man s
wife and a group of people from the town try to find any incriminating evidence against her in the
home. There are five characters in this play, the County Attorney Sheriff Peters, his wife, Mrs.
Peters, Hale, a farmer, and his wife, Mrs. Hale. This play thought to be one of the earliest
examples of feminine dramas. This is obviously due to the themes of feminism and female
stereotypes present in the play. Glaspell uses her power of rhetoric, though it is subtle, to make a
point that women shall no longer be neglected or glanced over even though they are at the same
level, if not more equipped to do all of the same things men can do. The topic of this play is
clearly the capability of women to step out of their stereotype for the time of the obedient wife.
This is shown when Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale hide the dead canary rather than showing it to the
two men. They knew that if they showed the dead bird to the men, then that would be all the
information needed to make prove Mrs. Wright s guilt. John Wright was strangled and everyone
knew of his temper which would make it obvious that he killed the bird. This, in turn, would
make Mrs. Wright want to kill him. It is clear that Glaspell s stance on feminism is adamant
support for it. Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peter commit a crime of their own by hiding incriminating
evidence. Mrs. Peters is even worse off since she is the wife of the sheriff. Yet neither of the
women flinch as the bird is hidden from the men. They understand why Mrs. Wright would
possibly want to do such a thing and they do not think that it is right for her to be punished for
defending herself. Hiding the bird goes back into the theme of feminism because while the men
thought they had simply let their wives alone to do their women stuff the women had inadvertently
solved the case.

By separating the entity from CCP, it would reduce the erosion of CCP s current brand which
has always been to focus on high performance and quality products. The $3 million investment
can be spent on creating this entity and equipping it with the technical expertise required to
further research on the concrete coating, and a separate sales force to develop a market for this
new product. The cost can eventually be off set by the estimated $5.07 million increase in profit,
as mentioned previously. The separate entity need not require a new factory. Instead, CCP and this
separate entity can share physical space and resources if needed. If all the risks as mentioned above
can be mitigated, CCP should proceed with the production of concrete coating as a by product
because it brings benefits to both the environment (through CO2 reduction) and CCP (through
increased profit).

Can Money Buy Happiness Essay
Can money buy everything, including money?
Some people think that money can buy everything. Does that include happiness? Can money really

happiness that varies through people. According to the dictionary, happinessis the state of being
happy. Happiness is not just a state of mind but it is a state of emotion. Martin Seligman, the father
of positive psychology, theorises that while 60% of happiness is determined by our genetics and
environments, the remaining 40 % is up to us. Psychologists have researched that when you are

Reflection About Service
During the summer and the first quarter of my freshman year, I performed several hours of
service because service, to me, is important and brings me closer to God. During the summer, I
volunteered at my church s sport summer camp. There I watched over the children who were
around the ages of five to ten. Other counselors and myself, watched over the children while their
parents were at work. I helped the children play sports such as basketball and volleyball as well as
even spent time with some of the children making friendship bracelets. I spent a week volunteering
at this camp because, for me, doing service brings me closerto the life Jesus said we should live; it
helps me to not think about myself for once and to think about other people. Additionally, over the
summer I also volunteered at Sportime summer camp. There I did similar things which included
playing sports and rely games with the children as well as helping them with arts and crafts. I
volunteered there because it was seven hours a day when I would focus on the children and help
them with whatever they needed. At both Sportime and my church, the heads of the camps were
grateful for my help because they were low on volunteers and staff members. I agreed to help
because I did not see a better way to spend my time. It meant a lot for me to be able to be such a
help to those people. In my second quarter, I volunteered at OLMA s annual Christmas Tea Party.
There, I helped set up the tables with hot water and sugar as well as helped serve food and
dessert. I made sure everyone s kettles were always filled with hot water and that there was
enough tea for everyone. Additionally, I helped clear the tables and throw away people s garage
during the event. After the event, I cleared all the tables from the dross and tablecloths, along
with the other volunteers. In addition, I helped to bring the cups and kettles that needed to be
washed back to the kitchen. The week before I knew that the people running the event were in
need of some student volunteers because they did not have many, so I was glad to volunteer.
The people there were happy to have my help and I was more than glad to offer it. I felt closer to
God as I gave up my time to help others in

The Watergate Scandal and the Resignation of President Richard Nixon
The Watergate Scandal and crisis that rocked the United States began on the early morning of June
17, 1972 with a small scale burglary and it ended August 9, 1974 with the resignation of Republican
President Richard Milhous Nixon. At approximately 2:30 in the morning of June 17, 1972, five
burglars were discovered inside the Democratic National Headquarters in the Watergate office
building in Washington DC. The burglars, who had been attempting to tap the headquarters phone
were linked to Nixon s Committee to Re Elect the President (CREEP). Over the next few months,

The White House rationalized any illegal actions by the Plumbers as protecting national security.
However, the motivating factor for these illegal actions was actually to protect Nixon s public image
as well as his political survival.
In 1972, the Committee to Re Elect the President was formed and Jeb Stuart Magruder became
the Director. In December of 1972, Nixon appointed G. Gordon Liddy as general counsel to
CREEP. The Committee played dirty tricks on Nixon s opponents and in one instance, single
handedly ruined the Democratic frontrunner Edmund Muskie s presidential campaign by making
damaging charges again Muskie and his wife in 1971. (Bernstein and Woodward 114) Liddy
was behind most of CREEP s political tricks and illegal activities and in 1972 he proposed a huge
intelligence operation against the Democrats, illegally funded by CREEP s campaign funds. This
operation included plans for a small scale burglary of the Democratic National Headquarters,
located in the Watergate office complex. Magruder, who had been given the authority by John
Mitchell, reluctantly gave Liddy the approval to perform the break in. (Westerfeld 35)
On June 17, 1972, five burglars under the orders of CREEP broke into the Democratic National
Headquarters. At about 2:30 a.m., security guard Frank Willis noticed tape over locks of the doors
and called the police. The five burglars were arrested,

The House
During the two years I lived in Charlottesville, Virginia, I passed by Monticello everyday on my
way from home to school; I finally went up there to visit right before I left the town. Weaving
through the giant plantation around it, the shuttle took us from the foot of the mountain to the
hilltop, where the house rested. The house was relatively small compared to the size of the field
surrounding it. Through several preservation and minor renovation, the floor we stepped on was
still the original. I remembered walking under the house and circling back through all the
servants facilities. All the dependencies were built into the side of the mountain in a U shape.
(Figure 6 7) As for the main house for Jefferson and his family, the plan of the house showed that
several rooms, especially the parlor, were hexagons, for maximizing daylight in the house, which
followed the rounded world concept in the Pantheon. Also related to this sense, the front of the
house were never defined. As in Jefferson s day, visitors today enter through the columned portico
of the East Front into the Entrance Hall. West entrance is more private use for family and guests.
But despite the function of the two entrance, there was no clear frontality or a single façade that
dominated the house. Rounded world represented Jefferson s vision of the world. Tracing back to
his early life, he was well known as the third president of America. Yet in his legendary life, he only

Fracking Essay
The Result of Fracking on the Natural Gas Industry
Introduction
Hydraulic fracturing otherwise known as fracking has flooded the market with cheap and reliable
natural gas to the exportation and power production markets all while being limited by logistics.
Emspak, J. (2014, August 12) shows that natural gas production by fracking has expanded gas
production by 32 times the amount in 2008. This lowered the cost 40% over that span of time. The
demand for clean cost efficient power production shifted production from coal fired to natural gas
plants. From 20015 20017 about nine thousand natural gas power plants were built says the U.S.

While this is great to the consumer, the renewable sector s growth was more stagnant. Attention was
diverted to use another greenhouse producing fossil fuel rather than a clean renewable. A trend in
U.S. Energy Information Administration s (2017) data showed renewable sector s power
production since 2008 grew only 5.7% as compared to natural gas production 18%. Another
disadvantage to the diversion from renewables is the additional carbon dioxide generated from
these additional plants operating. About 24 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions are related
to natural gas in 2011 (Natural gas prices. (n.d.)). The replacement of coal fired power plants with
natural gas has let to a decrease of the green house gases, mainly particulate matter and sulfur
dioxide emissions. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions produced in the generation of electricity at
power plants in the United States declined by 73% from 2006 to 2015, a much larger reduction than
the 32% decrease in coal fired electricity generation over that period. U.S. Energy Information
Administration (2017). This shows that more efficient control equipment can be used to almost
eliminate the trace amounts of sulfur dioxide in natural gas.
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory found the following:
Power plants are the largest source of SO2 emissions in the United States, accounting for 64% of
economy wide SO2 emissions in 2014. Power plants

Art And Art
What is Art? Art is the aesthetic experiences we encounter when we are exposed to new responses
of sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell (McGraw 2013). According to McGraw no society has
lived without some form of art in human history. (2013) We have the ability to create images that
have evolved and find a new relationship with each one. Art is composed of meaningfulness in
every aspect, from the artist perspective. The symbolism of art changes from era to era. Art is
created by individuals who have acquired traits of; sensitivity, flexibility, originality, playfulness,
productivity, fluency, analytical and organizational skills (McGraw 2013). We will later elaborate
on these traits individually through pieces of art. The shift of cultures has impacted the trait of art,
through eras of history, which impact artist mindset and modern culture.
The meaning of Art to me personally is something that you should have a connection with and or
understanding of what the artist is talking about by looking at the painting or drawing. The quality,
production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing,
or of more than ordinary . (dictionary) Referring to our textbook Living with Art refers to as Art

Berlin Wall in Germany
Abstract
This assignment is submitted as partial requirement of Global Trade. This report depicts the
sequences of Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall, erected November 13, 1961, served to separate
communist East Germany from Western influences. Intended to protect East Germans, the wall
actually was erected to prevent them from leaving the country. The Wall finally came down August
13, 1989, reuniting families and symbolizing the end of the cold war was near.
The initial plans for Allied occupation of Germany were prepared in 1944 in London by the
European Advisory Commission. In this agreement, Germany would be divided into four

2. Body
The Berlin Wall was erected in the dead of night and for 28 years kept East Germans from fleeing
to the West. Its destruction, which was nearly as instantaneous as its creation, was celebrated
around the world.
2.1 A Divided Berlin
At the end of World War II, the Allied powers divided conquered Germany into four zones, each
occupied by either the United States, Great Britain, France, or the Soviet Union (as agreed at the
Potsdam Conference). The same was done with Germany s capital city, Berlin.
As the relationship between the Soviet Union and the other three Allied powers quickly
disintegrated, the cooperative atmosphere of the occupation of Germany turned competitive and
aggressive. Although an eventual reunification of Germany had been intended, the new relationship
between the Allied powers turned Germany into West versus East, democracy versus Communism.
In 1949, this new organization of Germany became official when the three zones occupied by the
United States, Great Britain, and France combined to form West Germany (the Federal Republic of
Germany). The zone occupied by the Soviet Union quickly followed by forming East Germany (the
German Democratic Republic).
This same division into West and East occurred in Berlin. Since the city of Berlin had been situated
entirely within the Soviet zone of occupation, West Berlin became an island of democracy within
Communist East Germany.

Exploring the Therapeutic Effects of Yogic Techniques for...
The topic I chose to focus on for my research Masters Project is Exploring the therapeutic effects
of yogic techniques for stress management . I choose this topic because I am particularly
interested in stress and anxiety related mental and physical disorders with the use of yogic
techniques. I also choose this topic as little is known about the beneficial effects of a yogapractice
and self care as an alternative to medication interventions. Within the area of Social Care, the use
of yogic techniques can be extremely beneficial through creative approach for both service users
and social care workers. The need for alternative approaches to self care in the field of social care
can be achieved through the use of yogic techniques to help with stressmanagement. The health
benefits of yoga can help to reduce stress and anxiety, enhancing mood and wellbeing and reduce
the risk factors for chronic disorders. Yogic techniques relocate focus and attention to the body
and breath and can help to calm anxiety while releasing physical tension. Overall, the use of yogic
techniques can be used over a wide population of people, varying in all ages, gender and physical
limitations. The need for alternative medicines in which individuals can learn self care rather than
the use of medications is needed. Stress and anxiety falls under the category of non communicable
conditions. They are not infectious but are long in duration and usually slowly progressive. They

Child Abuse And Neglect Cause Juvenile Delinquency
Child Abuse and Neglect cause Juvenile Delinquency Strain theory describes the idea that there are
certain events and conditions in an individual s life that are disliked and involve the inability to
achieve goals, loss of positively valued stimuli, and presentation of negative stimuli (Brezina and
Agnew). Child neglectand abuse can be described by this theory, and often is, because of its
elements and the effect it has on children. Before the idea of child abuseand neglect causing juvenile
delinquencycan be argued, juvenile delinquency must be defined. Brezina and Agnew define
juvenile delinquency as law violations committed by minors. One of the largest debated
consequences of child abuse and neglect is it causes juvenile delinquency in victims. Juvenile
offenders are view by the justice system as immature in the sense that they are less capable of
appreciating the consequences of their actions, less able to exercise self control and more easily
lead astray by others. Supports of this claim say abuse causes delinquency because weak bonds,
low self control, and confrontation with negative stimuli. There are three theories that all describe
the reasons why child abuse and neglect lead to juvenile delinquency. This first of these theories
is the social bonding theory which states that the weaker the bond between parent and child, the
more likely the child is to become delinquent as stated by Ronald Akers. A parent s role in an
adolescent s life is to foster a social

Pilots disarmed stated; For 40 years prior to 9/11 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rule
allowed commercial airline pilots to carry firearms in the cockpit. The rule was adopted in the
wake of the 1961 Cuban missile crisis as a measure to prevent hijackings. Just two months before
9/11 the FAA rescinded the rule. The FAA also failed to answer any questions or return any calls
asking about why they did so. This shows maybe the government had something to do with 9/11
or they think we can deal with these catastrophes. In the report U.S. Pilots Seeking to Carry

the cockpit doors to train air crews to resit hijackings many pilots say they will continue to feel
unsafe until they are allowed to carry guns. These pilots are gonna do this because they are
concerned for the safety of the passengers and themselves. Its a concern that will not go away

Essay on DeStalinization
DeStalinization
The Origins
В· Desalinization was an extremely sensitive issue, as if it was handed badly, it could provoke
unrest. The post Stalinist officials wished to give the impression that they had not been involved in
Stalin s crime, but also wished to promote change from his style of leadership.
В· Initially, prisoners were released from labor camps and other criminals were rehabilitated, in
order to buy time for a more major action.
В· In 1995 the central committee set up a commission that intended to investigate Stalin s crimes.
However, the commission was extremely limited in what it could condemn. It was not allowed to
denounce the majority of Stalin s actions, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
В· The speech, however, was not as effective as Khrushchev had hoped. It failed to criticize many
aspects of Stalin s rule and did not condemn Stalin as a person, but rather, the Stalinist system.
Nonetheless, it shocked the delegates, and effectively instigated Desalinization in the Soviet Union.
Why did Khrushchev do it?
* Several possible reasons:
Wished to liberate the party officials from the fear of repression, as under Stalin, no one was safe
to voice an opinion that conflicted to his.
A strategic maneuver on the part of Khrushchev, with the goal of securing his own authority. By
denouncing Stalin, Khrushchev was also undermining the credibility of his competitors, namely
Molotov and Malenkov, who had been members of Stalin s inner circle. This gave them an
ultimatum: side with Khrushchev or be condemned along with Stalin
Truly wished to change the coarse of the development of the Soviet Union
The events that followed
В· Throughout the 1950 s, Khrushchev s policy of Desalinization continued, with many new
policies constructed that greatly deviated from the past Stalinist approach.
В· The SU s approach to agriculture was completely different then under Stalin, putting
collectivization on the backburner and implementing an entirely new agricultural policy, the Virgin
land schemes. Under this, previously

metal support of it. He turned around as soon as he saw Ghost finished with the walk upward and

Healthcare In The United States vs. The United Kingdom Essay
Compare and contrast healthcare in the United States and United Kingdom
In the contemporary world, America is one of the greatest countries. From the polio vaccine to
Coca Cola, United States is mother to many inventions. As Americans, we enjoy higher quality
living standards than most other parts of the world. This pleasure oriented lifestyle makes a lot of
other nations envious of us. And with the envy comes antipathy. For the time it has existed, the
American healthcare system has been a subject of scrutiny and debate.
The United States health care system ranks 37th in the world. Statistically, it s bizarre how United
States is amongst one of the most advanced nations in the world and the fact that it spends more on
its healthcare ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other government funded programs are funded out of general tax receipts.
However, this system has been a part of a never ending healthcare debate. Many argue that this
system underperforms habitually as the deliverables are in no match to the amount of spending.
The discussion has largely been based on government mandate of universal health coverage plan
and the costs of the healthcare in the country. This structure has repeatedly been questioned on it
access, efficiency and quality. Several feel that the beneficiary is not the average American but
insurance companies and health care lobbyists. Like everywhere else, where there is refute; there
is reform. In the year 2004, the First Lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton s attempt
to reform the healthcare scene by criticizing its basis and offering remedies was defeated by the
Congress. In 2007, filmmaker Michael Moore s, Sicko; denunciated the American healthcare
system and how it affects its people.
Although it censures the healthcare system we have, Sicko also highlights the healthcare
practices in UK. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a sovereign state
located in the continent of Europe. The English ruled over most parts of the world for several
decades and set standard for others to follow. It is said that no one in the world is better than the
English for quality and service. And such is true for healthcare.
The healthcare system

Australopithecus Afarensis, and Australopithecus Africanus...
The phylogeny started off with Proconsul heseloni as the common ancestor to Sivapithecus indicus,
Australopithecus afarensis, and Australopithecus Africanus. The reasoning for this was from the
approximated age of Proconsul heseloni of 23 million years ago. This places Sivapithecus indicus
roughly 15 million years after, suggesting that Sivapithecus indicus directly evolved from Proconsul
heseloni.
From Proconsul heseloni, it was decided that three species evolved from it. These species included
A. A. afarensis, A. africanus and Sivapithecus indicus. Sivapithecus indicus was branched off the
early human evolutionary line as the characteristics from the dentation and skull characteristics
differed from that of A. afarensis and A. africanus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This difference can be used to infer that they lived in different areas of the world as it can be
assumed that the diets of the two were unalike, explaining the dissimilarity of the canine size. As it
is inferred that the two species lived in different regions of the world, it can be assumed that they
co existed at the same time period.
Homo habilis followed A. africanus indicating that A. africanus was a direct ancestor of H.
habilis. The reasoning for this included the brain weight and body weight of the H. habilis slightly
increased from that of A. africanus. As there was a general increase the overall brain to body
weight ratio, indicating that there was an increase in the overall body weight of the two.
Homo erectus was branched off after H. habilis as the justification for this was from the muzzle
angles of the different species. As H. erectus had a muzzle angle of 107В° it was decided that it
was reasonable to assume that H. erectus evolved from H. habilis. However, in the overall
positioning of the phylogeny, it was placed on a side branch off H. habilis. This reasoning for this
was that if H. erectus was placed on the main evolutionary line to evolve from H. ergaster, the
muzzle angles from H. ergaster, H. erectus, and Homo neaderthalensis would increase then
decrease. It would not be logical to place H. erectus on the main evolutionary line. Further
justification that H. erectus was not a direct ancestor

Essay on censorship
Censorship is the act of suppressing publications, movies, television programs, plays, letters, and
so on that are considered to be obscene, blasphemous, or politically unacceptable (MccGwire 4).
Censorship should be enforced because it is needed into today s society. Censorship needs to be
used in media, hate speech, and obscene material.
To begin with, the media has very negative effect on society as a whole. The mass media movies,
television, and recordings need to be regulated, and not only because of appeals to irresponsible
lust (Lowenthal 19). They have immersed us in violence as well, habituated us to the most extreme
brutality, held it up as a model and surrounded us by images of hateful human ... Show more content

It corrupts taste and poisons the imagination (Kimball 20). Violent video games, movies, and music
lyrics influence people to retaliate against those people that hurt them. In the past few years there
have been a great number of school shootings. Many of these shootings were copied off of famous
movie scenes and video games. These obscene aspects of the media need to be banned from
children. Children are still learning the difference between rights and wrong, therefore adults need
to take on this responsibility of censoring what children watch, read, play with, and listen to.
Hate speech should also be banned. Free speech has a class line. It also has a class responsibility.
One person s beliefs cannot cross the line into threats of violence. Free speech does not cover that
(Albano 31). Those institutions most concerned with social fairness have proven to be the ones
most likely to promulgate anti hate speech rules (Albano 30). Part of the reason seems to be
recognition that hate speech can easily silence and demoralize its victims, discouraging them from
participating in the life of the institution (Albano 30). If so, enacting hate speech rules may be
evidence of a commitment to democratic dialogue, rather than the opposite, as some their
opponents maintain (Albano 30). People should not have to put up with harassment by others.
People should not have to constantly live in the state of fear because others are threatening them;

Midsummer Night s Dream Irrationality
A Midsummer Night s Dream is one of many famous works written by William Shakespeare, the
greatest writer of the 17th century. It tells a story of eight lovers, four of which simply cannot
get along, as two people love the same person and one is left out. However you can learn quite a
bit from this story, all you have to do is look closely. Theseus, the duke of Athens, is preparing for
his marriageto the queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta. Egeus, an Athenian nobleman comes into
Theseus wedding with his daughter Hermia and two men, Lysander and Demetrius. Egeus wishes
for Hermia to wed Demetrius but she is in lovewith Lysander and refuses to do so. Her father

This can be represented by Lysander s famous quote in (I.i.135) The course of love never did run
smooth . This explains how love isn t a smooth course that runs without trouble, but rather a bumpy,
rough one that will encounter lots of problems along the way, and how it is not a simple feeling.
Arguments breaking out (III.ii.122), using love potions in an attempt to settle the lovers (II.i.170)

Jane Eyre
Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre emerges with a unique voice in the Victorian period for the work
posits itself as a sentimental novel; however, it deliberately becomes unable to fulfill the genre, and
then, it creates an altogether divergent novel that demonstrates its superiority by adding depth of
structure in narration and character portrayal. Joan D. Peters essay, Finding a Voice: Towards a
Woman s Discourse of Dialogue in the Narration of Jane Eyrepositions Gerard Genette s theory of
convergence, which is that the movement of the fiction towards a confluence of protagonist and
narrator, is limited as the argument does not fully flesh out the parodies that Charlotte Bronte
incorporates into her work. I will argue that in the novel... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reed, which I cannot do: I should bless her son John, which is impossible. ... is not Mrs. Reed a
hard hearted, bad woman? She has been unkind to you, no doubt, because, you see, she dislikes
your cast of character, as Miss Scatcherd does mine; but how minutely you remember all she has
done and said to you! What a singularly deep impression her injustice seems to have made on
your heart! No ill usage so brands its record on my feelings. Would you not be happier if you tried
to forget her severity, together with the passionate emotions it excited? (69)
Helen communicates in an elegant restrained form to the protagonist that all of Jane s passion is
unvirtuous as this perspective lacks insight in contrast with Jane who impulsively voices contempt
to Helen for being deficient in natural passion. Her dialogue speaks of love and blessing that
should be returned to individuals that desire to harm her. She uses questions in this passage to
suggest her superior language skill set. Burns may quote the Bible, may hold in high regard Miss
Scatcherd and may espouse the stereotypical masculine traits of a novel, such as, well polished
diction, restraint of feeling, an emphasis on action, and a strong, seemingly objective, often directly
interposing, authorial narrative command (Peters 224), yet she loses her natural voice. Moreover,
Burns voice becomes stilted as it has discarded the poignant beauty of language in favor of

  • 2. Four Quartets And The Four Quartets Einstein s theory of Relativity hinges on two axioms: the laws of physics are the same for all frames of reference, and the speed of light in a vacuum is constant. In his famous train thought experiment, Einstein proved that the order of events depends on the location of the observer. In essence, he proved time dilation: or the phenomena that time bends and contracts. Eventually, he realized time dilation is a necessary consequence of keeping the speed of light in a vacuum constant everywhere in the universe, leading him to eventually conclude that space and time are not separate, distinct entities, but one linked dimension: spacetime. The Incarnation provides the only instance wherein time and eternity collide, and co exist. The Incarnation allows time past, time present, and time yet to come a simultaneous existence. However, the implications of simultaneity drastically change reality, both for Einstein and for Eliot. Einstein s theory allowed for strange realizations, such as light is both a particle and a wave at the same time and in the same way, which seems to break the foundational law of non contradiction. Eliot s realization that the Incarnation redeems all time by allowing it all to exist together, seems to face the same problem. However, this seemingly self referential absurdity may spring from nothing more than the frame of reference from within which Eliot and Einstein work. Just as time and eternity are separate and distant entities to the normal observer, the observer on the event horizon sees them as the same thing simultaneously. Perhaps, when viewed from the frame of reference of the Incarnation, these absurdities resolve into clarity, for here the impossible union of spheres of existence is ... Since the beginning of time, there have been many mathematicians that has influenced and contributed to the math we know today. None compares to the work of Sir Isaac Newton. He was influential as a person, as well as in his work. Sir Isaac Newton was born on December 25, 1642 in Wools Thorpe, Lincolnshire. Shortly after his father s death, Newton was born premature and was not expected to survive. After his father s death, his mother got remarried to an ignorant man. In 1667, Newton returning to Cambridge and quickly completed all his requirements for a master s degree. His greatest discoveries and innovations came about during his years at Cambridge. Newton was the one to formulate the theory of universal gravity. It is claimed that, when he watched an apple fall from a tree he wondered if the force that caused that the apple to fall was also the force that kept the moon in its orbit. According to the text in Newton (1642), his theory that is described in Newton s law is that gravitational force depends on the mass of each object. His doubt wasn t about the fact that gravity existed, but whether it was what was keeping the moon in its orbit. He figured that, if the force was to be decreased he would be able to calculate the Moon s orbital period. He figured that this was the same force responsible for other motions in the orbit and with his hypothesis; he decided to call this theory universal gravitation. With many trials and errors he could not get his calculations to match his theories; he finally figured out his error, he had been using the wrong formula to figure out the diameter of the Earth. According to Harper (2006), Newton s distinction between absolute and relative motion is based on his laws of motion, which he described as accepted by mathematicians and confirmed by experiments of many kinds . Examples Of Archetypal Criticism CHAPTER II Archetypal criticism The roots of archetypal criticism Archetypal criticism is a type of literary criticism that focuses on particular narrative patterns, archetypes, motifs, themes or characters that recur in a particular literary work or in literature in general. (1988, 15) An archetype can be defined as an original type or model after which similar things are patterned, a prototype, an ideal example. An archetype, as used in literature, is a recurrent, universal pattern that evokes a deep, emotional response invirtually all readers as it strikes a chord in their unconscious memory. The archetype has no form of its own, but it acts as an organizing principle on the things we see or do. These proposed changes have included 1915 and 1115 waivers, including long term care programs. Florida has an uninsured rate of 20 percent (Rose, 2015). This represents a great need for insurance coverage expansion and cost savings in Florida. Previous proposed changes have been successful in some aspects, but do not answer all of these elements. Many forms of 1915 and 1115 waivers have been proposed and implemented in Florida and other states in the past. According to Holahan, Coughlin, Lipson, Rajan (1995), the section 1115 research and demonstration waivers are designed to allow states to develop new solutions to health and welfare problems. The federal government may waive some standard Medicaid rules if the change is deemed to be budgetary, no higher than it would have been expected without the waiver (Holahan et al., 1995). States using these waivers have proposed to save money by using managed care plans for current Medicaid patients, and limiting the cost of new Medicaid enrollees (Holahan et al., 1995). These proposals often focus on using hospital DSH payments to expand coverage rather than using these sums to make payments to hospitals, using savings from reductions in other programs, or proposing new revenues (Holahan et al., 1995). The goal is to expand coverage at small new costs to the government (Holahan et al., 1995). The key features of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. The Scientific Revolution Of Western Civilizations During the seventeenth century, the scientific revolution in Europe was at its peak, changing people s lives through the new techniques of the scientific method. Citizens of western civilizations had previously used religion as the lens through which they perceived their beliefs and customs in their communities. Before the scientific revolution, science and religion were intertwined, and people were taught to accept religious laws and doctrines without questioning; the Church was the ultimate authority on how the world worked. However, during this revolution, scientists were inspired to learn and understand the laws of the universe had created, a noble and controversial move toward truth seeking. The famous scientists of the time, such as Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo and Newton, were known to be natural philosophers, intending to reveal God s mystery and understand (through proof) the majesty of God. Throughout previous centuries, people had hypothesized how the world and natural phenomenon may work, and new Protestant ideals demanded constant interrogation and examination. Nevertheless, some of these revelations went against the Church s teachings and authority. If people believed the Church could be wrong, then they could question everything around them, as well. As a result, the introduction of the scientific method, a process by which scientists discovered and proved new theories, was revolutionary because it distinguished what could be proved as real from what was simply ... • 24. Rhetorical Analysis Of Trifles Alesha Jeter Trifles Rhetoric Essay 5.30.17 The one act play Trifles, by Susan Glaspell, tells the story of a group of people attempting to figure out the murder of a man in their neighborhood. The main suspect in the case is the man s wife and a group of people from the town try to find any incriminating evidence against her in the home. There are five characters in this play, the County Attorney Sheriff Peters, his wife, Mrs. Peters, Hale, a farmer, and his wife, Mrs. Hale. This play thought to be one of the earliest examples of feminine dramas. This is obviously due to the themes of feminism and female stereotypes present in the play. Glaspell uses her power of rhetoric, though it is subtle, to make a point that women shall no longer be neglected or glanced over even though they are at the same level, if not more equipped to do all of the same things men can do. The topic of this play is clearly the capability of women to step out of their stereotype for the time of the obedient wife. This is shown when Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale hide the dead canary rather than showing it to the two men. They knew that if they showed the dead bird to the men, then that would be all the information needed to make prove Mrs. Wright s guilt. John Wright was strangled and everyone knew of his temper which would make it obvious that he killed the bird. This, in turn, would make Mrs. Wright want to kill him. It is clear that Glaspell s stance on feminism is adamant support for it. Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peter commit a crime of their own by hiding incriminating evidence. Mrs. Peters is even worse off since she is the wife of the sheriff. Yet neither of the women flinch as the bird is hidden from the men. They understand why Mrs. Wright would possibly want to do such a thing and they do not think that it is right for her to be punished for defending herself. Hiding the bird goes back into the theme of feminism because while the men thought they had simply let their wives alone to do their women stuff the women had inadvertently solved the case. MRS. HALE It s a log cabin pattern. Pretty, isn t it? I wonder if she was goin to quilt it or just knot it? (Footsteps have been heard coming down the stairs. The SHERIFF enters ... The cost can eventually be off set by the estimated $5.07 million increase in profit, as mentioned previously. The separate entity need not require a new factory. • 29. Reflection About Service During the summer and the first quarter of my freshman year, I performed several hours of service because service, to me, is important and brings me closer to God. During the summer, I volunteered at my church s sport summer camp. There I watched over the children who were around the ages of five to ten. Other counselors and myself, watched over the children while their parents were at work. I helped the children play sports such as basketball and volleyball as well as even spent time with some of the children making friendship bracelets. I spent a week volunteering at this camp because, for me, doing service brings me closerto the life Jesus said we should live; it helps me to not think about myself for once and to think about other people. Additionally, over the summer I also volunteered at Sportime summer camp. There I did similar things which included playing sports and rely games with the children as well as helping them with arts and crafts. I volunteered there because it was seven hours a day when I would focus on the children and help them with whatever they needed. At both Sportime and my church, the heads of the camps were grateful for my help because they were low on volunteers and staff members. I agreed to help because I did not see a better way to spend my time. It meant a lot for me to be able to be such a help to those people. In my second quarter, I volunteered at OLMA s annual Christmas Tea Party. There, I helped set up the tables with hot water and sugar as well as helped serve food and dessert. I made sure everyone s kettles were always filled with hot water and that there was enough tea for everyone. Additionally, I helped clear the tables and throw away people s garage during the event. After the event, I cleared all the tables from the dross and tablecloths, along with the other volunteers. In addition, I helped to bring the cups and kettles that needed to be washed back to the kitchen. The week before I knew that the people running the event were in need of some student volunteers because they did not have many, so I was glad to volunteer. At approximately 2:30 in the morning of June 17, 1972, five burglars were discovered inside the Democratic National Headquarters in the Watergate office building in Washington DC. This operation included plans for a small scale burglary of the Democratic National Headquarters, located in the Watergate office complex. Weaving through the giant plantation around it, the shuttle took us from the foot of the mountain to the hilltop, where the house rested. The house was relatively small compared to the size of the field surrounding it. Through several preservation and minor renovation, the floor we stepped on was still the original. I remembered walking under the house and circling back through all the servants facilities. All the dependencies were built into the side of the mountain in a U shape. (Figure 6 7) As for the main house for Jefferson and his family, the plan of the house showed that several rooms, especially the parlor, were hexagons, for maximizing daylight in the house, which followed the rounded world concept in the Pantheon. Also related to this sense, the front of the house were never defined. As in Jefferson s day, visitors today enter through the columned portico of the East Front into the Entrance Hall. Another disadvantage to the diversion from renewables is the additional carbon dioxide generated from these additional plants operating. The same was done with Germany s capital city, Berlin. As the relationship between the Soviet Union and the other three Allied powers quickly disintegrated, the cooperative atmosphere of the occupation of Germany turned competitive and aggressive. Although an eventual reunification of Germany had been intended, the new relationship between the Allied powers turned Germany into West versus East, democracy versus Communism. In 1949, this new organization of Germany became official when the three zones occupied by the United States, Great Britain, and France combined to form West Germany (the Federal Republic of Germany). The zone occupied by the Soviet Union quickly followed by forming East Germany (the German Democratic Republic). This same division into West and East occurred in Berlin. Since the city of Berlin had been situated entirely within the Soviet zone of occupation, West Berlin became an island of democracy within Communist East Germany. 2.2 The ... Child Abuse And Neglect Cause Juvenile Delinquency Child Abuse and Neglect cause Juvenile Delinquency Strain theory describes the idea that there are certain events and conditions in an individual s life that are disliked and involve the inability to achieve goals, loss of positively valued stimuli, and presentation of negative stimuli (Brezina and Agnew). Child neglectand abuse can be described by this theory, and often is, because of its elements and the effect it has on children. Before the idea of child abuseand neglect causing juvenile delinquencycan be argued, juvenile delinquency must be defined. Brezina and Agnew define juvenile delinquency as law violations committed by minors. One of the largest debated consequences of child abuse and neglect is it causes juvenile delinquency in victims. Juvenile offenders are view by the justice system as immature in the sense that they are less capable of appreciating the consequences of their actions, less able to exercise self control and more easily lead astray by others. Supports of this claim say abuse causes delinquency because weak bonds, low self control, and confrontation with negative stimuli. There are three theories that all describe the reasons why child abuse and neglect lead to juvenile delinquency. The phylogeny started off with Proconsul heseloni as the common ancestor to Sivapithecus indicus, Australopithecus afarensis, and Australopithecus Africanus. The reasoning for this was from the approximated age of Proconsul heseloni of 23 million years ago. This places Sivapithecus indicus roughly 15 million years after, suggesting that Sivapithecus indicus directly evolved from Proconsul heseloni. From Proconsul heseloni, it was decided that three species evolved from it. These species included A. A. afarensis, A. africanus and Sivapithecus indicus. Sivapithecus indicus was branched off the early human evolutionary line as the characteristics from the dentation and skull characteristics differed from that of A. afarensis and A. africanus... Homo habilis followed A. africanus indicating that A. africanus was a direct ancestor of H. habilis. The reasoning for this included the brain weight and body weight of the H. habilis slightly increased from that of A. africanus. As there was a general increase the overall brain to body weight ratio, indicating that there was an increase in the overall body weight of the two. Homo erectus was branched off after H. habilis as the justification for this was from the muzzle angles of the different species. However, in the overall positioning of the phylogeny, it was placed on a side branch off H. habilis. This reasoning for this was that if H. erectus was placed on the main evolutionary line to evolve from H. ergaster, the muzzle angles from H. ergaster, H. erectus, and Homo neaderthalensis would increase then decrease. Censorship should be enforced because it is needed into today s society. Censorship needs to be used in media, hate speech, and obscene material. To begin with, the media has very negative effect on society as a whole. The mass media movies, television, and recordings need to be regulated, and not only because of appeals to irresponsible lust (Lowenthal 19). It corrupts taste and poisons the imagination (Kimball 20). Violent video games, movies, and music lyrics influence people to retaliate against those people that hurt them. In the past few years there have been a great number of school shootings. Many of these shootings were copied off of famous movie scenes and video games. These obscene aspects of the media need to be banned from children. Children are still learning the difference between rights and wrong, therefore adults need to take on this responsibility of censoring what children watch, read, play with, and listen to. Free speech does not cover that (Albano 31). Those institutions most concerned with social fairness have proven to be the ones most likely to promulgate anti hate speech rules (Albano 30). Part of the reason seems to be recognition that hate speech can easily silence and demoralize its victims, discouraging them from participating in the life of the institution (Albano 30). If so, enacting hate speech rules may be evidence of a commitment to democratic dialogue, rather than the opposite, as some their opponents maintain (Albano 30). People should not have to put up with harassment by others. People should not have to constantly live in the state of fear because others are threatening them; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jane Eyre Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre emerges with a unique voice in the Victorian period for the work posits itself as a sentimental novel; however, it deliberately becomes unable to fulfill the genre, and then, it creates an altogether divergent novel that demonstrates its superiority by adding depth of structure in narration and character portrayal. Joan D. Peters essay, Finding a Voice: Towards a Woman s Discourse of Dialogue in the Narration of Jane Eyrepositions Gerard Genette s theory of convergence, which is that the movement of the fiction towards a confluence of protagonist and narrator, is limited as the argument does not fully flesh out the parodies that Charlotte Bronte incorporates into her work. She has been unkind to you, no doubt, because, you see, she dislikes your cast of character, as Miss Scatcherd does mine; but how minutely you remember all she has done and said to you! What a singularly deep impression her injustice seems to have made on your heart! No ill usage so brands its record on my feelings. Would you not be happier if you tried to forget her severity, together with the passionate emotions it excited? (69) Helen communicates in an elegant restrained form to the protagonist that all of Jane s passion is unvirtuous as this perspective lacks insight in contrast with Jane who impulsively voices contempt to Helen for being deficient in natural passion. Her dialogue speaks of love and blessing that should be returned to individuals that desire to harm her. She uses questions in this passage to suggest her superior language skill set. Burns may quote the Bible, may hold in high regard Miss Scatcherd and may espouse the stereotypical masculine traits of a novel, such as, well polished diction, restraint of feeling, an emphasis on action, and a strong, seemingly objective, often directly interposing, authorial narrative command (Peters 224), yet she loses her natural voice. Moreover, Burns voice becomes stilted as it has discarded the poignant beauty of language in favor of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
