A inserção de professores iniciantes tem sido assunto de estudos nas pesquisas educacionais a nível tanto nacional como internacional. Com a finalidade de contribuir com essa temática, este trabalho investigou como ocorre a inserção à docência dos professores principiantes de Química selecionados para atuarem na rede estadual pública do Piauí, principalmente quando esses não possuem a formação inicial concluída e atuam como professores temporários, analisando as principais dificuldades e desafios que enfrentaram para torna-se um bom professor.
Assim, tendo como objeto de estudo a iniciação à docência dos professores de Química buscamos responder: Como ocorre a inserção à docência desses professores? Quais as principais dificuldades e desafios enfrentados por eles? O que esses professores iniciantes pensam sobre ser um bom professor?
Foi baseado nessas questões que fizemos uma breve discussão teórica sobre o ciclo da vida profissional docente resgatando conceitos que vem sendo desenvolvido nas pesquisas e literatura da atualidade científica sobre a temática dos professores iniciantes.

Existen numerosas investigaciones que se han ocupado de indagar acerca de los problemas de los profesores principiantes en sus procesos de inserción profesional. Una de las caracterizaciones más difundidas y más citadas es aquella que afirma que los profesores noveles, al tiempo que desempeñan las mismas funciones que sus colegas más experimentados, deben enfrentar distintos desafíos propios de este período de inserción, tales como adquirir conocimientos sobre los estudiantes, el currículo y el contexto escolar; diseñar adecuadamente las tareas de enseñanza; comenzar a desarrollar un repertorio docente que les permita sobrevivir como profesor; crear una comunidad de aprendizaje en el aula, y continuar desarrollando una identidad profesional. (Marcelo, 1999)
En estrecha vinculación con los desafíos antes enunciados, la cuestión que aquí nos interesa poner en el centro del debate es cómo logra construir, un profesor que recién se inicia, un “saber a ser enseñado” que articule cuestiones de orden diverso, dado que, como ya advirtió Gimeno Sacristán hace más de dos décadas (1989:177), “no basta con yuxtaponer el conocimiento sobre la materia o área con otros sobre el alumno, sobre el proceso de aprendizaje humano, sobre las condiciones del medio, de la escuela, de los medios didácticos, de los grandes objetivos y principios educativos, etc., sino que todo ello ha de integrarse en un tratamiento coherente”.
Conocedoras de estas múltiples demandas, las casas editoriales promocionan los libros de texto como una solución inmediata a estos problemas de las prácticas de enseñanza: en ellos están ya especificados los objetivos a lograr, la selección, secuenciación y organización del contenido a enseñar, las actividades más adecuadas para aprenderlo y los criterios de evaluación de los aprendizajes.

Foram realizadas narrativas biográficas (orais e escritas), por entender que ela por si só, funciona como um processo de formação, pois no momento da entrevista, o entrevistado trará à tona elementos significativos sobre seu percurso formativo durante a graduação e também anterior a ela, ou seja, fazem parte da construção da identidade docente do indivíduo, interferindo na sua ação na escola. Esta metodologia é diferenciada, pois acaba gerando uma reflexão sobre a própria prática, assumindo assim um importante papel formativo, reelaborando as ações a partir da entrevista.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
