Shock troops are military units organized for mobility with the goal of penetrating enemy defenses through vulnerable rear areas using unconventional weapons and tactics. They wear extra heavy armor to defend themselves while carrying out assaults. Christian shock troops, or evangelists, are similarly organized for mobility to win souls for Christ by attacking spiritual vulnerabilities with weapons of truth and a heavy armor of rational and scriptural evidence that forms an effective defense of their faith. Their goal is to enthusiastically spread Christianity using unconventional apologetic methods to convince others.
Apologetics 1 Lesson 9 Arguments for Christianity, The Resurrection and the P...Third Column Ministries
The document discusses several objections to and explanations for the problem of evil. It presents arguments that evil exists due to free will and human sin, and that God allows evil for purposes like soul-making and spiritual growth. It also suggests evil is the absence of good and moral evils result from human actions. Overall, the document explores theological responses to the question of why an omnipotent and good God permits the existence of evil.
This document discusses the relationship between faith and reason. It makes the following key points:
1. Faith and reason must be reconciled for apologetics to be possible. Apologetics attempts to defend faith using rational arguments.
2. There are truths that come from faith alone, from both faith and reason, and from reason alone. Christian apologists must prove truths from the second category and answer objections to truths from the first.
3. Thomas Aquinas argued that faith and reason can never truly contradict each other because both come from God and truth cannot contradict truth. Either Christianity is false, reason is false, or there is no contradiction between them.
Christianity and faith have a long history of integrating reason. While anti-intellectualism emerged in some American Christian circles in the 1800s, prominent Christian thinkers like Augustine, Aquinas, and Edwards viewed faith and reason as complementary. The document discusses how Galileo's issues with the church were more about politics and lack of evidence than a conflict between science and religion. It emphasizes that Christians should engage intellectually with their faith and confront ideas in culture through thoughtful apologetics rather than withdrawing from intellectual life.
Lesson 2 of a multipart series. Approaches to Apologetics. Covers different styles of apologetics including evidential, presuppostional, missional, integrative, and combinational.
Basic overview of introductory apologetics: (1) Can we prove God's existence? (2) Is the Bible reliable? (3) Was Jesus God or a good guy? [additional references found in "notes" section of each slide]

The document discusses agnosticism and analyzes whether Christianity stands up to the criteria for determining when a position of agnosticism is warranted, as outlined by Julian Huxley. It finds that Christianity and the New Testament accounts of Jesus pass Huxley's three main criteria: 1) The accounts are based on eyewitness testimony and events that can be historically verified, unlike speculation. 2) Christianity was not propagated merely to satisfy psychological desires but is grounded in evidence and reality. 3) The New Testament withstands the general criteria for judging the validity of historical works, such as manuscript reliability and corroboration by external evidence. Therefore, the document concludes Christianity is justified in standing as a valid truth claim rather than warranting an
The Essentials of Apologetics - Why Christianity (Part 3)?Robin Schumacher
This document is a presentation on why Christianity provides compelling answers to life's key questions about origin, purpose, and the afterlife. It summarizes atheistic views which conclude that life has no higher purpose or meaning. It then examines Christian teachings that humanity was created by God, should live with love, has purpose defined by God, and faces an afterlife of either eternal life with God or separation from him. The document asserts that Christianity alone can provide meaning, truth, love and security. It argues that through Jesus, God demonstrates his love for humanity and offers forgiveness and salvation as gifts through faith in him.
The document discusses Paul's preaching to the Areopagus in Athens. It notes that the Areopagus was a court that had authority over civil and religious matters in Athens. Paul would have addressed the court either on Mars Hill below the Acropolis, or in the northwest corner of the Agora, where the group held meetings. Christian apologetics aims to present rational arguments defending Christianity against objections and to justify Christian beliefs, drawing from texts in the New Testament that command believers to evangelize and spread the faith.
This document provides an overview and introduction to Christian apologetics. It discusses defending the Christian faith through rational discourse. The ultimate goal of apologetics is to introduce people to the gospel of Jesus Christ. It covers various apologetics topics and methods. It emphasizes the importance of being prepared to give reasons for believing in Christianity and addressing common objections, while doing so with gentleness and respect.
This document discusses apologetics and worldviews. It begins by explaining the biblical basis for apologetics in 1 Peter 3:13-16 and defines it as giving a defense for one's faith. It then lists reasons why apologetics is needed today, such as cultural shifts and the rise of atheist literature. The document also outlines major worldviews like theism, pantheism, atheism, polytheism, and pluralism. It notes that worldviews should explain reality and answer life's most difficult questions. It concludes by stating that one's worldview should be based on what is true, not on personal feelings or preferences.
The document discusses sources of claims that Jesus was a mythological figure rather than a historical person. It traces these claims back to 19th century German theologian Bruno Bauer, who argued Jesus was a fusion of Greek and Roman theology rather than based in Judaism. Others like Albert Kalthoff and James Frazer built on this, claiming Jesus never existed. Modern propagators cited include the movie Zeitgeist and authors Dan Brown and Freke/Gandy. The document questions the credibility and scholarly acceptance of these mythological claims, noting a lack of evidence and acceptance from reputable historians and scholars.
Lesson 7 of a multipart series. The Cosmological, Ontological, Teleological and other arguments don't prove the God of the Bible, however, they do support a Theistic world view.
The document discusses different views on religious pluralism and exclusivism. It argues that while religious pluralism says all religions can lead to God, exclusivism says only one true religion leads to salvation, and inclusivism says one religion is true but people of other faiths can still be saved. The document provides biblical quotes and examines arguments for why Christianity claims to be the exclusive path to God.
This document outlines an apologetics course defending Christian theology. It covers topics like the existence of God, Jesus, prophecies about Jesus, miracles, the resurrection, the Bible's inspiration and reliability, science and Christianity, and responses to difficult questions. It also compares the Christian worldview to other perspectives like Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and naturalism/materialism. The course aims to demonstrate Christianity provides compelling answers to life's big questions and that the Christian worldview is a "good" one that is true, answers important human questions, and leads people to live better lives.
Tyler Geffeney of Illustra Media presents arguments in support of the integrity and authority of the Christian Scriptures. This powerpoint was given in conjunction with his talk, Understanding Inerrancy & Inspiration, given at the Tactics Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 6 & 7, 2013.
Apologetics is the rational defense and explanation of the Christian faith. It involves training believers to engage critics and questioners through understanding biblical theology, developing logical arguments, identifying flaws in opposing views, and defending the Christian worldview. There are different approaches like classical, evidential, presuppositional, and experiential apologetics. Core Christian beliefs that apologists defend include the existence of God, reliability of the Bible, uniqueness of Christ, biblical creation account, and miracles. Apologetics has always been needed as people question and criticize Christianity, and it is still greatly needed today as God commands believers to defend their faith through reason and because the world requires truth to be presented logically.
"From God to us: The Biblical Canon" (by Intelligent Faith 315.com)godknt777
The document discusses how the canon of scripture was determined and discovered. It was determined by God, who inspired certain prophets to write scripture. The canon was discovered by looking for "fingerprints of God" in the writings. These fingerprints included being written by a prophet of God, being confirmed by acts of God, telling the truth about God, having the power of God, and being accepted by the people of God when it was written. The process of full recognition took centuries as the early church gradually investigated and accepted the books through councils like Hippo and Carthage.
This document discusses several topics related to defending Christianity through apologetics in an honest and sound way. It begins by defining key terms like integrity, apologetics, worldview and paradigm. It then examines questions around whether we follow evidence objectively or are influenced by assumptions. It also discusses how to reconcile scripture with scientific understandings from nature. There is debate around interpreting Genesis and whether the earth is young or old. While young earth creationism is popular among some, many Christian scholars and leaders believe an old earth view can also be compatible with Christianity.
This document outlines the common pattern found in false religions: (1) a false prophet who writes a false authority, (2) the false authority is used to proclaim a false god, (3) the religion puts forward a false savior, and (4) it preaches a false salvation through works. Christianity appears to follow a similar pattern but can be shown to be true through fulfilled prophecies, miracles like Jesus' resurrection, and its foundation being the historical person of Jesus Christ rather than an idea. The document warns that false religions can imitate truth and it is important to carefully examine the evidence for Christianity's truth.
This document discusses the rise of humanism as an alternative to Christianity. It traces humanism back to ancient Greek philosophers like Protagoras who asserted that man is the measure of all things. During the Renaissance and Enlightenment periods, thinkers increasingly elevated human reason and abilities above revelation from God. This led to a secular, naturalistic worldview where man, not God, is central. The document argues that when God is removed, humanism leads to an unstable downward spiral and the rise of authoritarianism. It provides examples of rulers throughout history who claimed divine status or demanded worship as a way to consolidate power over populations without God.
The document contains feedback from an audience questionnaire about a documentary on pets. The respondent learned:

Does Absolute Truth Exist? Class # 1 introkandcrog
"Pilate said to Jesus, "Are You a King then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?"
What is truth? In our world today many seem to have decided "truth" is whatever they want it to be. Even when individuals are presented with strong and undisputed evidence, if it is not to their liking, they will not accept it as true for them. But for Christians this is not an option. However, there is powerful and convincing proof that Christianity is the one true religion, that the triune God who reveals himself in the Bible is the one and only God of the universe, and Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may live. Yet many choose to ignore the evidence and instead hold to other beliefs.
We will use the book "I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist" by Norman L Geisler and Frank Truek to explore the topic of Christian Apologetics. We will study together and discuss the reasons for our faith as believers in Jesus Christ and we will equip ourselves to help skeptics who are open to the truth to see the real truth.
The document discusses the field of Christian apologetics, which involves defending Christianity through rational argument. It provides an overview of why apologetics is important as Christianity faces challenges from modern culture. It also addresses common questions and claims raised in books like The Da Vinci Code, providing counterarguments to assertions that Jesus was not divine, the Bible is untrue, or that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene.

Why do we believe in God? Is it reasonable to believe in God? What is religion? What is the difference between supernatural (revealed &inspired religion) and natural religion (non revealed & inspired religion)? What makes Christ different than everybody else that has and will ever live? What is the Church that Christ founded? Does His Church have authority? What is the Church? What makes it up?

Lesson 3 is part 1 of the conversation regarding the actual arguments toward the existence of an objective Christian worldview. In this presentation, we will analyze the cursory evidence for Christ's crucification and resurrection from the dead.
Christian apologetics involves defending Christianity through reasoned arguments and evidence. There are various methodologies like classical, evidential, presuppositional, and reformed epistemology approaches. Classical apologetics uses arguments like the cosmological, teleological, ontological, and moral arguments to establish God and then Christianity. Evidential focuses on the resurrection evidence. Presuppositional says one must accept God to understand the world. Reformed epistemology says belief in God is properly basic. Defenders use minimal facts about Jesus' death, empty tomb, and appearances to argue for his resurrection.
The short answer is Yes, according to Biblical context you will go to Hell, but thats the easy answer..I would be remiss if I did not take a moment to share the following.
If you consider yourself an atheist with a sincere interest in truth, there are several things about Christianity that's critical to understand. This article will solely deal with the biblical Christian faith which I subscribe to personally, and since this question is a biblical one I submit the following.
This document provides an overview for an apologetics course. The course objectives include explaining the rationale for doing apologetics, acquiring skills to do apologetics, identifying people's worldviews and assumptions, and presenting cases for the reliability of Scripture and the Messiahship of Jesus. The course will use several textbooks and include class discussions, assignments, and student presentations. It will be taught using a flipped classroom model where students read material outside of class and discuss it during class time.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

3. Elements of an
Effective Evangelist
Jesus Was An Apologist
The most explicit example of Jesus’ offering evidence to support His
claim to deity is His response to doubting Thomas. In John 20, Jesus
first appears to the other disciples before He appears to Thomas (vv.
19–24). When the disciples tell Thomas they have seen the Lord
alive, Thomas responds, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the
nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand
into His side, I will not believe” (v. 25). In a word, Thomas would not
accept the good news of the risen Christ unless he had empirical
proof.
How did Jesus respond? Did He ignore Thomas and turn away from
him because he wanted evidence for belief? Did He say that
Thomas’s desire for proof was a sign of spiritual immaturity? Not at
all. Instead, our Lord gave Thomas exactly the kind of evidence he
requested; He responded specifically to Thomas’s particular
obstacle to faith. He appeared to Thomas and invited him to
examine the signs of His crucifixion. Thomas was immediately
convinced and pronounced the very words that Jesus calls all
unbelievers to utter: “My Lord and my God!” Afterwards, Jesus
reminded Thomas that he should have accepted the testimony of
the other disciples, but Jesus first gave Thomas the evidence he
needed to encourage a step of faith.

• To be an effective and effectual
evangelist, you must become an
apologist. The term apologetics is
derived from the Greek word
apologia, which is found seven
times in the New Testament (Acts
22:1; 25:16; 1 Cor. 9:3; Phil. 1:7,
16; 2 Tim. 4:16; 1 Pet. 3:15). The
English equivalent of apologia is
defense (literally, “a speech for the
defense”)
• You must be enthusiastic and
confident in the words that you
speak.
• You must always be sharpening
and perfecting your tools of
warfare.

4. The Apostles were apologist
Like Jesus, the apostles actively used
apologetics in their evangelism. They gave
their personal testimonies, not to evangelize
or defend Christianity, but to confirm their
message. In the Book of Acts, the apostle
Paul furnishes the most explicit examples of
this.
The apostles used many other apologetic
techniques as well to make their case. They
referred to eyewitness accounts (1 John 1:1),
well-known historical data (Luke 3:1–2), the
common knowledge of their audience (Acts
26:26), fulfilled Old Testament prophecy (v.
22), and legal reasoning (25:16). The
apostles also instructed their followers to
defend the gospel as they did (see 2 Tim.
2:24–26; 4:2–5; Titus 1:9–14)

This is the broken link in
most ministries. We have
many professing to be
Christians, but have no
true understanding of
Christianity.
Is it possible to become a Christian without
understanding what Christianity is all about?
The major problem with not having an
understanding of Christianity is you cannot be a
viable asset to the Kingdom.
Hosea 4:6 tells us “my people perish from the
lack of knowledge”. Without knowledge we
become a perishable people because a lack of
knowledge creates an inability to effectively
spread the Gospel or to address the disbeliefs of
others.
5. Truth Point Academy 6
The goal of a Christian apologist aka
knowledgeable evangelist is not to
coerce a person into accepting Christ
on blind faith but to lead him to make
an informed decision for the Lord.
When one takes the step from
intellectual evidences and emotional
certainty, he has taken a step of faith.
Not blind faith, but faith resting on a
foundation of truth, which will
ultimately assist in building the
Kingdom.
Informed individuals, are confident and
enthusiastic about the knowledge that
supports their confidence and are
anxious to share
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15
7. Truth Point Academy 8
Only a small fraction of the world’s population question the existence of a deity.
For most people, the issue isn’t whether a God exists but what God is like and what’s His
role.
• Is God one or many?
• Personal or impersonal?
• Good and fair or harsh and capricious?
• Is He the God of the Judeo-Christian religion or the God of some other religion?
The only way
anyone can
prove no God
exists, is to be
a God himself.
OMNIPRESENT
(present everywhere at once)
OMNISCIENT
(have all awareness and understanding)
These are two of the primary attributes of
God that would be required for anyone to
have enough information to know that no
God exists.
Hence, no human being can prove God
does not exist

Walk In Confidence
No
fears..
When defending Christianity against atheist. We as Christians, have
a document (the Bible) that testifies to the existence of God and it
is always up to the person contesting a document to prove it is
false.
For example, in court cases, the person
contesting the document has the
responsibility to prove the document is bogus.
In the debate over the existence of God,
Christians have a historical document that
reveals God exists. If atheists wish to challenge
the existence of God, they must prove this
document is spurious.
The burden of proof rests on atheists.
They do not have to prove the nonexistence of
God, but they do have to disprove the
objective evidence offered for His existence. If
they can’t, then Christian theism is true and
atheism is false.
A document is innocent until proven guilty.
9. Truth Point Academy 10
The Bible is divine revelation and a true testimony
to the existence of God. The Bible is truthful in all areas
open to investigation. It is philosophically consistent,
prophetic, historical, geographical, and can be
scientifically verified to be factual.
If the Bible is reliable in all these areas and other forms
of investigation can be applied, it is logical to assume
that, in areas of religious truth (such as God’s existence),
it is equally reliable and truthful.
There is no one is alive
today who witnessed the
assassination of Abraham
Lincoln. However, we can be
certain that the event
occurred because of the
vast amount of historical
evidence that confirms it.
The probability that Lincoln
was assassinated is
overwhelming.
The testimony of Scripture
is the most potent weapon
in the Christian’s arsenal.
The Bible offers objective,
testable evidence for God’s
existence. The Bible does
double duty: it brings the
atheist face to face with the
fact that God exists, and it
reveals the true nature of
God in the person of Jesus
Christ.
“For truly I tell you, until
heaven and earth disappear,
not the smallest letter, not
the least stroke of a pen, will
by any means disappear from
the Law until everything is
accomplished.” Matthew 5:18
10. Truth Point Academy 11
Atheists reject the Bible because they reject the existence of God. For atheists to
consider the testimony of Scripture involves presenting philosophical and historical
evidence for God’s existence..

1. If the universe had in fact created itself, it must
have both existed and not existed at the same
time.
2. And nothing can exist and not exist at the same
time.
3. Further evidence that the universe had a
beginning is the fact that it is aging, indicating
then there must have been a starting point.
4. Another piece of evidence is the principle of
contingency, which states that everything in
the physical universe is dependent upon
something else for its existence.
5. Thus, for the universe itself to exist, there must
be a cause for its existence. Logically, the
universe cannot be self-creating if something
else caused it to come to be.
11. Truth Point Academy 12
The Bible states
that God is holy,
eternal,
omniscient,
omnipresent,
omnipotent, and
omnibenevolent. It
tells us that God is
triune—Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit
The scientific principle of
cause and effect, tells us that
any thing that exists does so
due to a cause. And since no
effect can be greater than its
cause, whatever caused the
universe must be greater
than the universe itself. That
greater cause must be God,
the first cause.
Nothing in the universe exists
that is not dependent on
something else. A tree’s
existence is contingent on seed
from another tree, as well as,
water, minerals, and sunshine.
Absolutely nothing in the
universe is able to declare total
independence or explain its
own existence
The only way we can know for sure that God exists is if He reveals Himself.
Without realizing it,
many atheists
acknowledge the concept
of an intelligence behind
nature when they use the
term Mother Nature. It
plainly carries the idea of
a creator who designed
and maintains the
natural world.
Mother Nature

12. Truth Point Academy 13
The Bible reconfirms:
• Something or someone
outside of the universe
caused the universe to be.
• Creation out of nothing is
the only plausible
explanation for the existence
of the universe.
• Only God, a Being who is
Himself uncaused, eternal,
and all-powerful, could by
definition be the Creator of
The Universe.
Everywhere we look, there is interdependence,
harmony, order, and purpose. These
characteristics indicate the work of an
intelligent and supernatural being.

Common
Objection To
The Existence
of God
If there is a God why does he
allow suffering and evil in the
world. And if He does exist,
why doesn’t he put an end to
suffering and evil?
1. The very fact that we as human possess a moral
standard that can decipher evil and suffering is
proof of God’s existence.
2. We possess a generic moral code manifested in
every human regardless of race, creed or color that
makes murder, stealing, lying, rape, infidelity and
so on unacceptable.
3. The moral standard (The Ten Commandments) was
written in the Bible over 3500 years ago and this
standard is embedded in every culture creating a
universal standard for moral behavior.
4. The only reasonable explanation for a universal
moral standard for behavior must be derived from
a moral absolute and this could only be God.
5. By nature, God is perfect in love, wisdom,
goodness and righteous, thus the only being able
to judge perfectly what is right and what is wrong.

Organized for mobility – meaning they are not comfortable with just serving within the 4 walls of a church building, they seek to move and impact environments where there are an abundance of lost souls.
They defend – able to bring clarity to all situations using the word of God in a loving and relatable manner, that is well received.
They purse with great enthusiasm because they are confident entering into battle with sharpened weapons and the knowledge of their predestined victories.
An apologist in simple terms is one who can utilize the Bible, historical occurrence and secular medium to confirm the Word of God and shed light in darkness. Just like Jesus gave Thomas the evidence he needed to encourage a step of faith, we need to be diligent in that as well, not giving up on an individual because they are not grasping our delivery of the message. Our commitment as Shock Trooper is to recreate our delivery of the message until its able to be grasps and repeatedly accept this challenge as a sharpening tool.
2 Tim 2:15 lets us to be approved by God we are required to study so that we can be workman not ashamed and able to rightly divide the word of truth. In other words as Christians we must understand the word and our faith so that we can rightly divide the word of truth for the lost.
