Shinto is a polytheistic religion originating in Japan that worships many gods and deities known as kami. Kami can be nature spirits that influence humans and nature. Shinto has no single founder but its sacred texts are in the Kojiki. Worshipers make offerings at haiden shrines and have a long tradition of religious pilgrimages to places like the Ise Grand Shrine.
