Shenzhou 9 was a Chinese spacecraft that launched on June 16, 2012 carrying three taikonauts - Liu Yang, Liu Wang, and Jing Haipeng. It was China's first manned spaceflight in over five years and successfully docked with the Tiangong 1 space lab during its 13 day mission before returning safely to Earth on June 29, 2012. Liu Wang made history as the first Chinese woman in space.
