Innovative Business Plan Presentations: Turning Ten Minutes
into Competitive Success
Right or wrong, people form a perception about how competent you are by how
you present yourself when you stand and speak. They also form perceptions
about the company you represent based on your performance. Does that make
you nervous? It should! Never before in the history of mankind has more been
riding on the effectiveness of a person's presentation.
In fact, public speaking is an easy way to set yourself apart from your
competition, because when you stand up and say what you want to say, they
way that you want to say it, you are doing what 95% of the people in the
audience wish they could do! A person who is confident in front of a group gives
off an air of competence, whereas a person who fumbles might leave a negative
impression.
There are many occasions when you, as a small business owner, will be called
upon to explain your business. These presentations will be given to many diverse
groups including potential customers, bankers, suppliers, and investors. Each
group requires different information about your business and it should be
presented in a format appropriate to the situation.
Along with computer literacy, professional presentation skills are becoming a new
survival skill in the workplace. Not only do people enjoy presenters who are
inviting, engaging and informative, in today's hypercompetitive marketplace,
presenters have to persuade and inspire to obtain a bid, win a contract, gain the
confidence of an ally in a high-stakes competitive task, and motivate others to
overcome impossible obstacles.
Words have the ability to change the way that people think, the way the people
believe, and can even change their values. If you can alter someone's values,
then you can redirect their actions. From values, actions will flow. From beliefs,
come a person's subsequent behaviors.
On the other hand, technical expertise and proficiency without the ability to
communicate will render us inefficient and ineffective. According to research,
people would rather die than stand in front of people and make a speech. The
top three things people are afraid of are public speaking, death, and snakes!
Since you as a businessperson will be required to make presentations, sales
pitches, pleas for cash, and so on, it is imperative that you recognize that
nervousness is a part of the communication experience, and find ways to
channel that anxiety into useful energy.

Why Psychological Safety Matters for Software Teams - ACE 2024 - Ben Linders.pdfBen Linders
Psychological safety in teams is important; team members must feel safe and able to communicate and collaborate effectively to deliver value. It’s also necessary to build long-lasting teams since things will happen and relationships will be strained.
But, how safe is a team? How can we determine if there are any factors that make the team unsafe or have an impact on the team’s culture?
In this mini-workshop, we’ll play games for psychological safety and team culture utilizing a deck of coaching cards, The Psychological Safety Cards. We will learn how to use gamification to gain a better understanding of what’s going on in teams. Individuals share what they have learned from working in teams, what has impacted the team’s safety and culture, and what has led to positive change.
Different game formats will be played in groups in parallel. Examples are an ice-breaker to get people talking about psychological safety, a constellation where people take positions about aspects of psychological safety in their team or organization, and collaborative card games where people work together to create an environment that fosters psychological safety.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.

Carrer goals.pptx and their importance in real lifeartemacademy2
Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

WHAT WE DO:
CONNECT DOTS AND THOUGHTS
Our mission is to bring thought leaders and ranking experts together with live
audiences that are keen to hear their message. If you’re an expert or
revolutionary thinker who wants to do more as a meeting, conference, or
podcast speaker, we’ll collaborate with you to find opportunities worth your time
and brainpower.
Our speakers innovate, inspire, and raise awareness. If that sounds like you – if
you love to elevate thinking and help audiences move beyond what’s rote into
what’s remarkable – we can help you advance your mission, in person or
virtually. Let the Shap Agency put you in front of the right audiences.
“
We work hard to put you in the
room with people who are hungry to
understand your viewpoint, see the
future through your eyes, and
incorporate your concepts into their
lives and work.

WhY WE DO IT.
Inspired by brilliant conferences and disappointed by mediocre ones, we wanted to raise the bar.
We realized that some of the most informed, engaged, through-provoking speakers are not
necessarily famous. They need the Shap Agency to find their audiences, and just as certainly, those
audiences need help finding the voices of thought leaders whose messages they crave.

your content is king
We cater to speakers who can discuss topics that advance the awareness of
their audiences – informing, educating, and orienting those listeners toward a
broader understanding. Our annual program raises awareness of you as a
thought leader by arranging engagements with the right audiences for you
throughout the year at conferences, meetings, radio shows, and podcasts.

who said “virtual” is not
remotely entertaining?
As long as the world continues social distancing, in-person
engagements at conferences will take a back seat to
presentations and talks delivered remotely by virtual seminars,
webinars, radio, and podcasts. This is a great opportunity for
speakers to address distant audiences without leaving home. It's
also an effective strategy for growing a portfolio of informative
and enlightening speaking engagements via virtual presentations.
Even when in-person events resume, virtual formats will remain a
mainstay of business life. So let's get started!

We get it
Many speakers – especially when starting out – see themselves as
thought leaders, mentors, and conveyors of important information,
but not entertainers. We understand. We help you improve your game
so that audiences want to listen to what you have to say. That means
we work to get in front of the audiences you need and coach you to
do well when you're there.
onward and upward!
If you’re going to make a name for yourself relating to a specific topic,
then you’ll need multiple speaking opportunities. Working with the Shap
Agency, you’ll be speaking an average of once a month throughout the
year. Each time you speak, we’ll gather feedback about how you did so
that you can improve for the next engagement.
