Shaolin Temple is a famous Zen Buddhist temple located on Mount Song near Dengfeng, Henan province in China. Founded in the 5th century, it is renowned for its association with Chinese martial arts, particularly Shaolin Kung Fu. The temple contains many important halls and structures, including the Mahavira Hall, Thousand Buddha Hall with famous murals, and the Snow Pavilion where Bodhidharma is said to have meditated. Shaolin Temple was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 due to its cultural and historical significance.
