This document provides instructions for setting up an OpenFIDY development environment on Ubuntu 10.10 Server. It outlines the following requirements: 1) Administrator access on the chosen platform 2) The SUN JDK, Apache Maven, a database, and an internet connection for downloading dependencies 3) Instructions for installing the SUN JDK, base tools like Maven and Java, checking out the source code from subversion, and building and assembling the installable deployment package.

9. You Will Need (2) The SUN JDK Sorry.. The OpenJDK won't work (Yet) Apache Maven

10. A Database Default config is for a MySQL db, deployed against postgres, oracle and MS SQL Server. An active internet connection (At a decent speed to download dependencies)

12. SUN JDK - Notes apt-get install python-software-properties

13. add-apt-repository ppa:sun-java-community-team/sun-java6

14. apt-get update

15. apt-get install sun-java6-jdk

16. update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun

17. Installing Base Tools Make sure your java and maven tools are correctly installed Verify with “mvn -v” and “java -version”

18. Please verify you are running the SUN JDK!

19. Add MAVEN_HOME and JAVA_HOME to an RC file

20. Add MAVEN_HOME/bin to path in RC also.

21. (We use /etc/profile, YMMV)

22. Checking Out the Source Code svn checkout svn://developer.k-int.com/home/svn/repositories/default/ispp N.B. This is direct to the subversion repository in anonymous mode rather than via the http interface.

23. Building cd ispp/datamodel/trunk

24. mvn clean install

25. cd ../../ispp-dpp

26. mvn clean install

27. cd ../../ispp-web-assemly

28. mvn clean assembly

29. cd target/output

30. The .zip is your installable FIDY Deployment
