SESSION TITLE: Module 4: Community and Environmental Health
OBJECTIVES:
The participants are expected to:
1. Discuss the concepts at an in-depth level the community and
environmental health
2. Express the ideas about the community and environmental Health and
3. Demonstrate interactive activities for teaching Community and
Environmental Health.
RESOURCES NEEDED: laptop, LCD projector.cartolina.crayola,
DURATION: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Introduction
This module highlights the importance of having a proper and good
Community and Environmental Health. Correct health information, a positive
attitude and healthy lifestyles and practices.
Priming(5mins.)
Pollutantville
1.Group into 5 by 10 person
2.The group will be given a white cartolina and draw the simple drawing of
,air,noise,water,human.
3.Do it for 5minutes and show it in the class
4.After presenting you drawings in five minutes add pollutants to your
drawing and present to the group. Collect observations from the group.
2. ACTIVITY (25 minutes)
Hidden Chronicles
1. You will provided with a picture,as an inspector identify or
encircle the wrong doings in the picture. At the back of your
picture write the encircle situation or thing that you saw and
explain why did you choose that.
ANALYSIS (20 minutes)
The participants will answer the following questions
1. Why did you choose those things?
2. What makes them wrong in the picture
3. What should be the right thing that was in the picture
4. How can this help0 the picture perfect.
ABSTRACTION (30 minutes)
Present and discuss the module for Quarter 4 . Methods and Strategies
1. Over population
2. Current health situation of your community
3. Pest Control
4. Food safety
APPLICATION (10 minutes)
Cityville
1. You will be given cartolina
2. Create your own city by drawing 20 buildings on it.
3. Each building will be named according to your own created
strategies in teaching community and environmental health.
4. How did you come up with that strategy.
