The document discusses using wikis for asynchronous continuous assessment in education. It describes a wiki experience at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) that involved over 80 experiences across 10 majors. Key benefits included improved academic performance, motivation and participation of students. However, weaknesses included difficulty controlling time spent and assessing contributions. To address these, the author's group developed new wiki tools for team management, activity tracking, time control and online assessment notes.
Built for Success: Online Course Design and the COI FrameworkCaroline Conlon
This session will focus on the practical application of the three COI (Comunity of Inquiry) “presences” in course design. Strategies
to build student engagement, community and pedagogical components for each presence will be summarized. A concrete example
of each presence will be explored in depth along with the process used to select effective technology and pedagogical components.
The session will close with a demonstration of the application of COI techniques in major LMS systems including Blackboard,
Moodle, and Canvas. Handouts and worksheets for designing online courses using the COI model will be provided.
This presentation discusses the use of social software in the Master of Distance Education program at UMUC, and shares lessons learned during the development of several initiatives taking place outside of the online classroom.
Feedback, Agency and Analytics in Virtual Learning Environments – Creating a ...Diogo Casanova
The project comprises of a review of the literature and current technical provision of assessment and feedback in Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs); and data collected from ‘Sandpits’ with students and lecturers in two HEIs in the UK. A ‘Sandpit’ is a type of creative design-thinking focus group where participants are stimulated by a narrative of a scenario around the use of a product, object or artefact and are encouraged to critique, discuss and re-design it (Frohlich, Lim and Ahmed, 2014; Casanova and Mitchell, 2017). These ‘Sandpits’ look to clarify the role of VLEs in assessment and feedback, through understanding students’ perceptions of feedback and how they are being addressed and understanding teachers’ perceptions of the constraints they face. We are exploring what is available, looking to improve interface designs and features, and present these to VLE product designers.

Peter Dangerfield: Wikis – a tool to assist learning? Slides from the University of Liverpool Learning and Teaching Conference 2009.
This presentation describes how wikis, collaborative websites, were introduced to students in a problem-based learning context as part of a CETL-funded pilot. What we wanted to find out was whether the use of wikis could enhance students’ learning and their development of professionalism. The presentation will summarise this experience with some insights into students’ patterns of working and some of the questions that this pilot study has raised in terms of the use of this tool.
This will share best practices in using wikis and relate to Common Core standards as teachers learn essential skills. Note that some of this session is an online demo, but bullet points of what is shared is included in the presentation.
Despite requirements for constant innovation in Higher Education, the application of
knowledge management constitutes a recent research field in this sector while a wide range of e-learning
tools - like open source learning management systems (LMS) - constitute a basic part of universities
infrastructures at present. As knowledge derived from direct experiences is one of the most important
sources for innovations, this paper presents two approaches for experiential knowledge production in the
Higher Education teaching-learning processes: (1) the managerial production approach and (2) the open
production approach. In accordance with these approaches, the paper also describes how Moodle and Sakai -
two of the most widely used open source LMS - support experiential knowledge production and concludes
that: (1) these LMS don’t have first class constructs to manage experiential knowledge production related
concepts; (2) experiential knowledge related constructs can be represented through existing artifacts included
in these LMS but this approach presents many limitations to support explicit connections between these
constructs and; (3) LMS can extend current capabilities of tags or similar artifacts to represent high level
meaning structures that link content from different LMS tools.

We describe concept and implementation of a wiki-based application facilitating knowledge transfer and learning within the enterprise. Building on two interviews with managerial experts responsible for the roll-out and an online survey of 59 non-executive employees targeted by this new solution, we present the results of our evaluation. Our contribution was highly motivated from the continuing discussion on the potential and pitfalls of Web 2.0 technologies and applications underlying technology enhanced learning and the lack of empirical studies in contrast.

what is the future of Pi Network currency.DOT TECH
The future of the Pi cryptocurrency is uncertain, and its success will depend on several factors. Pi is a relatively new cryptocurrency that aims to be user-friendly and accessible to a wide audience. Here are a few key considerations for its future:
Message: @Pi_vendor_247 on telegram if u want to sell PI COINS.
1. Mainnet Launch: As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, Pi was still in the testnet phase. Its success will depend on a successful transition to a mainnet, where actual transactions can take place.
2. User Adoption: Pi's success will be closely tied to user adoption. The more users who join the network and actively participate, the stronger the ecosystem can become.
3. Utility and Use Cases: For a cryptocurrency to thrive, it must offer utility and practical use cases. The Pi team has talked about various applications, including peer-to-peer transactions, smart contracts, and more. The development and implementation of these features will be essential.
4. Regulatory Environment: The regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies is evolving globally. How Pi navigates and complies with regulations in various jurisdictions will significantly impact its future.
5. Technology Development: The Pi network must continue to develop and improve its technology, security, and scalability to compete with established cryptocurrencies.
6. Community Engagement: The Pi community plays a critical role in its future. Engaged users can help build trust and grow the network.
7. Monetization and Sustainability: The Pi team's monetization strategy, such as fees, partnerships, or other revenue sources, will affect its long-term sustainability.
It's essential to approach Pi or any new cryptocurrency with caution and conduct due diligence. Cryptocurrency investments involve risks, and potential rewards can be uncertain. The success and future of Pi will depend on the collective efforts of its team, community, and the broader cryptocurrency market dynamics. It's advisable to stay updated on Pi's development and follow any updates from the official Pi Network website or announcements from the team.
Financial Assets: Debit vs Equity Securities.pptxWrito-Finance
financial assets represent claim for future benefit or cash. Financial assets are formed by establishing contracts between participants. These financial assets are used for collection of huge amounts of money for business purposes.
Two major Types: Debt Securities and Equity Securities.
Debt Securities are Also known as fixed-income securities or instruments. The type of assets is formed by establishing contracts between investor and issuer of the asset.
• The first type of Debit securities is BONDS. Bonds are issued by corporations and government (both local and national government).
• The second important type of Debit security is NOTES. Apart from similarities associated with notes and bonds, notes have shorter term maturity.
• The 3rd important type of Debit security is TRESURY BILLS. These securities have short-term ranging from three months, six months, and one year. Issuer of such securities are governments.
• Above discussed debit securities are mostly issued by governments and corporations. CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS CDs are issued by Banks and Financial Institutions. Risk factor associated with CDs gets reduced when issued by reputable institutions or Banks.
Following are the risk attached with debt securities: Credit risk, interest rate risk and currency risk
There are no fixed maturity dates in such securities, and asset’s value is determined by company’s performance. There are two major types of equity securities: common stock and preferred stock.
Common Stock: These are simple equity securities and bear no complexities which the preferred stock bears. Holders of such securities or instrument have the voting rights when it comes to select the company’s board of director or the business decisions to be made.
Preferred Stock: Preferred stocks are sometime referred to as hybrid securities, because it contains elements of both debit security and equity security. Preferred stock confers ownership rights to security holder that is why it is equity instrument
Equity securities as a whole is used for capital funding for companies. Companies have multiple expenses to cover. Potential growth of company is required in competitive market. So, these securities are used for capital generation, and then uses it for company’s growth.
Concluding remarks
Both are employed in business. Businesses are often established through debit securities, then what is the need for equity securities. Companies have to cover multiple expenses and expansion of business. They can also use equity instruments for repayment of debits. So, there are multiple uses for securities. As an investor, you need tools for analysis. Investment decisions are made by carefully analyzing the market. For better analysis of the stock market, investors often employ financial analysis of companies.

USDA Loans in California: A Comprehensive Overview.pptxmarketing367770
USDA Loans in California: A Comprehensive Overview
If you're dreaming of owning a home in California's rural or suburban areas, a USDA loan might be the perfect solution. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) offers these loans to help low-to-moderate-income individuals and families achieve homeownership.
Key Features of USDA Loans:
Zero Down Payment: USDA loans require no down payment, making homeownership more accessible.
Competitive Interest Rates: These loans often come with lower interest rates compared to conventional loans.
Flexible Credit Requirements: USDA loans have more lenient credit score requirements, helping those with less-than-perfect credit.
Guaranteed Loan Program: The USDA guarantees a portion of the loan, reducing risk for lenders and expanding borrowing options.
Eligibility Criteria:
Location: The property must be located in a USDA-designated rural or suburban area. Many areas in California qualify.
Income Limits: Applicants must meet income guidelines, which vary by region and household size.
Primary Residence: The home must be used as the borrower's primary residence.
Application Process:
Find a USDA-Approved Lender: Not all lenders offer USDA loans, so it's essential to choose one approved by the USDA.
Pre-Qualification: Determine your eligibility and the amount you can borrow.
Property Search: Look for properties in eligible rural or suburban areas.
Loan Application: Submit your application, including financial and personal information.
Processing and Approval: The lender and USDA will review your application. If approved, you can proceed to closing.
USDA loans are an excellent option for those looking to buy a home in California's rural and suburban areas. With no down payment and flexible requirements, these loans make homeownership more attainable for many families. Explore your eligibility today and take the first step toward owning your dream home.

US Economic Outlook - Being Decided - M Capital Group August 2021.pdfpchutichetpong
The U.S. economy is continuing its impressive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and not slowing down despite re-occurring bumps. The U.S. savings rate reached its highest ever recorded level at 34% in April 2020 and Americans seem ready to spend. The sectors that had been hurt the most by the pandemic specifically reduced consumer spending, like retail, leisure, hospitality, and travel, are now experiencing massive growth in revenue and job openings.
Could this growth lead to a “Roaring Twenties”? As quickly as the U.S. economy contracted, experiencing a 9.1% drop in economic output relative to the business cycle in Q2 2020, the largest in recorded history, it has rebounded beyond expectations. This surprising growth seems to be fueled by the U.S. government’s aggressive fiscal and monetary policies, and an increase in consumer spending as mobility restrictions are lifted. Unemployment rates between June 2020 and June 2021 decreased by 5.2%, while the demand for labor is increasing, coupled with increasing wages to incentivize Americans to rejoin the labor force. Schools and businesses are expected to fully reopen soon. In parallel, vaccination rates across the country and the world continue to rise, with full vaccination rates of 50% and 14.8% respectively.
However, it is not completely smooth sailing from here. According to M Capital Group, the main risks that threaten the continued growth of the U.S. economy are inflation, unsettled trade relations, and another wave of Covid-19 mutations that could shut down the world again. Have we learned from the past year of COVID-19 and adapted our economy accordingly?
“In order for the U.S. economy to continue growing, whether there is another wave or not, the U.S. needs to focus on diversifying supply chains, supporting business investment, and maintaining consumer spending,” says Grace Feeley, a research analyst at M Capital Group.
While the economic indicators are positive, the risks are coming closer to manifesting and threatening such growth. The new variants spreading throughout the world, Delta, Lambda, and Gamma, are vaccine-resistant and muddy the predictions made about the economy and health of the country. These variants bring back the feeling of uncertainty that has wreaked havoc not only on the stock market but the mindset of people around the world. MCG provides unique insight on how to mitigate these risks to possibly ensure a bright economic future.

Wiki for learning
The wiki has been used in many scenarios:
Research groups (writing papers, meeting minutes, state of the
art), teams in companies (project oriented work), global
projects (Wikipedia), ...
It can also be used to improve learning, for it provides:
A peer-to-peer communication channel
A collaborative editing system with version control
An automatic repository
Free organisation of information
It can be considered an enhanced virtual portfolio, but allowing
continuous team work, and promoting active participation.

Designing a wiki
Although there are many advantages in using a wiki for
supporting learning, there are some key aspects that must be
firstly considered:
Important aspects:
Information organisation / Wiki structure.
Designing of the learning evidences.
Time devoted for following up student progress.
Assessment of the contributions to the wiki.
All these aspects must be perfectly defined before using a Wiki.

Reported wiki learning hindrances
There is a list of well-known learning hindrances when using a
wiki (http://www.educause.edu).
→ This is how we have overcome them:
Group editing (All documents are edited by a group of
students, no private information). An access and change
control is used.
Content structure (Free structure makes assessment
difficult). Learning evidences define the structure of the
wiki.
Collective group representation (The group is assessed
as a whole). An individual assessment is performed.

Weaknesses of the wiki
The wiki is very powerful, but in these four years of applying it
we have found some weaknesses:
It is difficult to control the time needed by student and
instructor, and the time they have devoted to the wiki.
There are many variables to assess; an external
spreadsheet is required to keep all the evaluation notes.
Setting up teams can be tedious: a typical course in
Computer Engineering may have more than 200 students.

indicate how much time he or she has spent in doing the
activity.

Conclusions
A wiki is extremely useful for supporting learning, and the UAB
Wiki group has been using it since 2004.
However, a generic wiki lacks from some basic functionalities
such as
Time control tools
Detailed user activity information
On-line assessment
Easy creation of team wikis
Our group has developed an extension for the MoinMoin wiki
engine to support these functions.

Future work
We are planning now to integrate a wiki in the institutional
electronic teaching platform at UAB (expected by 09/2008).
This wiki will have, eventually, all the tools we have
devised.
We will focus on competence assessment via wiki, as this
is of paramount relevance now for the new majors that are
currently being defined.
We want to create a network of groups interested in wiki for
learning (groups from 5 universities interested so far).
