Great arguments are there on both sides of the question “Are Links Losing Value in Google's Algorithm?” sometimes it seems to be true and sometimes they seem to be more valuable than ever. Let us look on both sides of the argument.
SEO strategies improve as search algorithms continue to evolve. Google has been clear about who it focuses on: the user and whether they are getting the results they want.

More than 3.5 billion searches are performed every day by Google, a company that holds more than 85% of the internet search engine market.
Abstract: Google employs algorithms in such a way that it holds the capability of sensing what one might want to see, out of the keyword that we have entered. In other words Google’s algorithms accept our query as input and produce results in the form of webpages that may count up to many thousands or even millions.
There are certain criteria upon which the algorithm filters our search results. The technical term used to represent such criteria is ‘clues’. These clues are unique signals that help in determining what really we are looking for. They include information like the terms and condition of a website, how recent has the content been modified, the region in which the user exists, how good the title of a pages looks and rank of the page.
Google’s developers focus on refining the quality of result produced by employing different ‘clues’, that also determine if a page or website stands at position 1 in search results.
While the overall preview of how the algorithm works has been specified, a Google algorithm is not as easy as it meets the eye. Google algorithms are complicated and increase in the level of complexity as the search for a user’s query gets refined from level to level.

E-commerce in 2024 is characterized by a dynamic blend of opportunities and significant challenges. Supply chain disruptions and inventory shortages are critical issues, leading to increased shipping delays and rising costs, which impact timely delivery and squeeze profit margins. Efficient logistics management is essential, yet it is often hampered by these external factors. Payment processing, while needing to ensure security and user convenience, grapples with preventing fraud and integrating diverse payment methods, adding another layer of complexity. Furthermore, fulfillment operations require a streamlined approach to handle volume spikes and maintain accuracy in order picking, packing, and shipping, all while meeting customers' heightened expectations for faster delivery times.
Amid these operational challenges, customer data has emerged as an important strategy. By focusing on personalization and enhancing customer experience from historical behavior, businesses can deliver improved website and brand experienced, better product recommendations, optimal promotions, and content to meet individual preferences. Better data analytics can also help in effectively creating marketing campaigns, improving customer retention, and driving product development and inventory management.
Innovative formats such as social commerce and live shopping are beginning to impact the digital commerce landscape, offering new ways to engage with customers and drive sales, and may provide opportunity for brands that have been priced out or seen a downturn with post-pandemic shopping behavior. Social commerce integrates shopping experiences directly into social media platforms, tapping into the massive user bases of these networks to increase reach and engagement. Live shopping, on the other hand, combines entertainment and real-time interaction, providing a dynamic platform for showcasing products and encouraging immediate purchases. These innovations not only enhance customer engagement but also provide valuable data for businesses to refine their strategies and deliver superior shopping experiences.
The e-commerce sector is evolving rapidly, and businesses that effectively manage operational challenges and implement innovative strategies are best positioned for long-term success.

3. … but why is Google making these changes?
Or more specifically, what most don’t understand is what
kind of incentive there is to site owners making these
changes.
Because Google has also said that it is perfectly fine to
leave your nofollowed links as they are and just ignore the
rel=ugc and rel=sponsored options.
4. In most cases, nothing has changed.
So what does this mean? Some SEOs think that the important part of
this whole announcement is that Google is treating rel=”nofollow” as a
hint now, and not a directive.
5. Google has Updated the Quality Raters Guidelines!
1. Huge Emphasis on Original Content: Important for News Sites and Informational Sites
In several places, the QRG have changed to emphasize the importance of having original content.
This correlates with one of Amit Singhal’s 23 questions on Google Webmaster that concerns a site’s quality, which is:
Does the article provide original content or information, original reporting, original research or original analysis?
6. Google has Updated the Quality Raters Guidelines!
2. Google Sees Use of Original Images and Videos a Sign of Higher Quality
In the “Very High Quality Main Content” section, it reads:
This seems that Google will most likely start applying E-A-T (Expertise , Authority, and Trustworthiness) filters to image
search for YMYL queries.
7. * Google search shows trusted websites like healthline and
webmd while the same query on image search shows more
alternative health websites
8. Google has Updated the Quality Raters Guidelines!
3. Clarification on what YMYL (Your Money Your Life) means
Google also made a few clarifications on YMYL pages, describing them as “type of pages or topics that could potentially
impact a person’s future happiness, health, financial stability or safety.”
There’s also differences in terms of YMYL examples and one important info for shopping/ transactional websites:
“...experts could include people who have used the store’s website to make purchases.” which may possible show that
Google will put more emphasis on reviews that come from actual users of your products.
9. Google has Updated the Quality Raters Guidelines!
4. Who is Responsible for the Website and Who Created Content on the Page
Under the subsection of 2.5 Understanding the website, there’s a new line that adds:
“Websites want users to be able to distinguish between content created by themselves versus content that was added by
other users.”
In another line, Google also emphasizes that they consider it the website’s responsibility to carry the quality of the licensed
or syndicated content, even if it wasn’t created by the website themselves.
10. Google has Updated the Quality Raters Guidelines!
5. The Pulitzer Prize is no Longer Depicted as the Only Source of Journalistic Integrity
An interesting development in this version of the Quality Rater Guidelines is that Google is now supplementing any
reference of the “Pulitzer Prize” with other examples of awards or accolades that indicate journalistic quality.
This may have been done because of Google faced backlash for suggesting that the Pulitzer Prize should be the primary
way one should measure the trustworthiness of a news publication.
