The 8th grade English class will be learning about and writing cinquain poems. Cinquains are 5-line poems that follow specific patterns. Students will be handed back previous assignments, given a new vocabulary list, learn about the three types of cinquains - word pattern, syllable pattern, and combination pattern, and have class time to write one of each type of cinquain to turn in the next day.
