This document is a senior project proposal form completed by Amanda Price. She proposes a senior project topic on cosmetology and business. Her project will involve interning with a cosmetics facilitator, attending a makeup event, promoting the facilitator's products through advertisements, producing a short line of her own cosmetic products, and holding a makeup event to sell the products where she will teach makeup application techniques. The project aims to teach Amanda about cosmetic chemistry and product sales. She estimates the project will cost $300-500 and will be facilitated by Joanne M. McClure, the owner of an organic skincare company.

returned to your senior English teacher by Friday, August 17, 2012. You will not be allowed to
change your topic after October 12, 2012.

1) Describe the overall topic of your Senior Project.
The overall topic of my project is cosmetology and business.
2) What is your previous experience in this area of study?
My previous experience in cosmetology would be applying makeup everyday; I know the proper
techniques of applying makeup.
3) To what career will you connect this project (required)?
I will connect my project to the business and cosmetology field.
4) Describe what you are proposing to do for your Product step-by-step and in detail. Write on the
back of this sheet if necessary.
My first step for my product would be to intern/shadow my facilitator and learn how she conducts
her business. Second, I will attend one of her makeup events. Third, I will promote her product by
putting out advertisements. Fourth, I will produce a short line of products. Finally, I will hold a
makeup event where I will sell the products to the guests: the dangers of toxin in other beauty
products, introduce them to my facilitators products, let them sample the products, and I will teach
them the proper ways of applying makeup. I will also take pictures at my event.
5) How is this project a “learning stretch” and a challenge for you?
This project is a learning stretch to me because I will learn about the chemistry behind cosmetics and I
will be learning how to properly sell products.
6) What are your estimated costs for completing the Product, and how will you fund these costs?

7) Who have you chosen (or are considering choosing) as your Project Facilitator? I am considering
choosing the owner of Painted Earth Skincare, Joanne M. McClure.
8) What is this person’s expertise in this field? Joanne owns Painted Earth Skincare and she knows
how to sell and produce organic cosmetic products.
