1. CGPA: CUMULATIVE
GRADE POINT AVERAGE
It simply implies the average
summation of your grade
points performance over a
specified period.

This indicates the unit point of a particular
course.
Mostly but subject to department/faculty:
Core (Compulsory) Courses – 3/4units
Required Courses – 2/3units
Elective Courses – 2/3units
General/University Courses – 2units
Seminar – 1/2/3/4units
Project – 6units

(2) TLU: Total Load Unit
This indicates the total number of course units
registered for.
For instance:

As the name suggests, this implies the total number
of course units passed
For instance:
ACC101 – 3units - Passed
ACC103 – 3units - Passed
ACC105 - 3units - Passed
GST121 – 2units - Passed
GST111 - 2units - Failed
ENT101 – 2units - Passed
TLU = 15units
TUP = TLU - ∑Units Failed = 15 – 2 = 13

This refers to the grade level attached to your score.
The standard table in use for NOW:

BTW 45 & 49 - D - 2
BTW 40 & 44 - E - 1
BTW 0 & 39 - F - 0

(5) GPA: Grade Point Average
This refers to the summation of product of the
grade point and course unit over total load unit
AND NOT total unit passed.
The formula is:
GPA = ∑(GP * CU)/TLU
The term GPA is used when calculating for a
semester, while CGPA is used when computing
for more than one.

Two classifications/judgements occurred
after the computation of your GPA/CGPA:
i. STATUS Classification – The judgement
starts from 100level.
ii. CLASS Classification – The
pronouncement is made at the end of
your academic journey (graduating level)
