Dr. Ronald Redwing gave a seminar on nanotechnology research and engaging the public. He defined nanotechnology as controlling atoms and molecules from 1 to 999 nm, or 1 to 100 nm depending on the context. He discussed how nanotechnology has potential applications in medicine, small devices, and self-assembled structures. Dr. Redwing also talked about undergraduate research internships at Penn State University and how their nanotechnology programs are integrated with education through science museum shows, summer camps, and high school outreach.
