2. 1. What is Sematime?
Sematime is an online service that helps our customers to communicate with their
clients and other stakeholders through bulk SMS message. It can also be used to send
bills and invoices.
2. How else can you use Sematime?
They are many uses of Sematime and the only limitation is your imagination. To help
you get started though, here are some:

Mail merge lets you personalize all sent messages by inserting a salutation and the person’s
first name at the beginning of the message. For example, Dear John, Dear Omwenga, Hi Lucy or
even Niaje Mike. We have over ten salutations to choose from: Hi, Dear, Hey, Hello, Greetings
among others.
g) Recipients auto-suggestions
Now adding recipients of your message is as easy as ABC. When you type a person’s name,
Sematime will automatically present you with a list of similar names from your Address Book to
choose from. For example, if you write ‘John’, Sematime will autosuggest all potential recipients
whose names have a ‘John’ in them.
h) Archiving
What do you do with those old and unwanted messages and contacts that you no longer use?
Delete them? No, what if you happen to need them in the future? There is a better solution than
deleting and that’s – archiving. When you archive a message, Sematime will automatically
remove it from the list of sent messages but save it in ‘The Archives’. If you should ever want
the message back, just go to ‘The Archives’ and un-archive it among many other advantages.

4. 5. How much does Sematime cost?
We offer you three versions of Sematime, the Basic, the Premium and the Pro Version:
Cost per message:
Creating a Sematime account is FREE after which we will give you 5 free SMS units to help you
send test messages to your friends and colleagues. Once you have exhausted the test units, you
will need to purchase more as per the following rates:
* 500 - 15,000 units: Ksh 1.50
* Above 15,000 units: Ksh 1.00
Our other rates:
 SMS branding fee: Ksh 9,860
This is a one-time fee that we charge in order to let you send messages with the name of
your organization as the sender's name. Branded messages help promote your brand
and also reinforce the authenticity of your messages.
 Setup fee: Ksh 11,600
This is another one-time fee that you pay in order to get user training, data entry and
full account upgrading. Note that you can still use Sematime without paying this fee but
then you will not access these premium features

7. How secure is our data?
At Sematime, we take security seriously and there are a number of techniques that we employ
to guarantee security of your data:
a) Secret user login credentials – every Sematime user is assigned a username and password
that is unique across all Sematime users. Without these login credentials nobody can access
your data.
b) Data encryption – put simply data encryption is a technique that has been used from time
immemorial to make otherwise comprehensible data incomprehensible. Should the data fall to
the wrong hands while encrypted then the recipient has no way of making sense of the data.
We employ AES 256-bit encryption technology.
c) Data backups and redundancy – these are done regularly and ensure that our services
remain uninterrupted in case some servers malfunction.
