Self confidence comes from knowledge of one's own strengths and weaknesses. There are three types of self confidence: low self confidence, where one fears failure and avoids risks; optimal self confidence, which is important for success; and over self confidence, where one becomes egotistical and irritating. Optimal self confidence involves believing in oneself without being overly arrogant.
