Sedna was a beautiful Inuit girl who did not want to marry any of the hunters that asked for her hand. However, she was persuaded to marry a mysterious hunter dressed in warm furs. When they arrived at his home, she discovered he was actually an evil raven. Her father later tried to rescue her but was forced to throw her from their kayak into the ocean during a storm caused by the raven. As Sedna sank, her fingers and hands turned into seals, fish, whales and walrus.
