The web can be a dangerous place. Software that has code defects, also known as vulnerabilities, pose serious risks to users – from the most casual Internet surfers to business owners.
Malware attacks and data thefts are on the rise as evident from the recent news headlines. The mere use of antivirus software wouldn’t serve the purpose. The reason being, antivirus programs block attacks by using patterns or signatures to identify malicious software code. This signature-based detection was successful when the threats were lesser and spread over a good time frame.

Who would win the battle for the White House to become the next President of the United States was a topic of hot debate in 2012.
Much of that debate was taking place online, with plenty of people blogging, tweeting or updating social media with their thoughts on Mitt Romney versus Barack Obama.

This provided us with a rich source of information about what people were thinking and feeling about the election race. So today I've decided to cover Techniques of Digital Data Analysis that are used to predict the US election. And perhaps the 2012 election will be remembered as the first election where big data analysis played a crucial role and had a tremendous impact on the outcome of the presidential election.
I am fairly familiar with the above mentioned techniques, because I had an opportunity to meet the CEO of EMC company on January 2013 in Singapore. EMC was one of a selected few companies that Twitter had entrusted to syndicate and provide access to the full Twitter feed for use in internal analytics applications for Obama's campaign in 2012. In my humble opinion that was the reason that in 2015 this company was sold to Dell for $67B in largest deal in Tech history.
The techniques of big data analysis remain the same, so let’s jump to year 2016 and see what social media data is used to predict the US election nowadays.

Invesitigation of Malware and Forensic Tools on Internet IJECEIAES
Malware is an application that is harmful to your forensic information. Basically, malware analyses is the process of analysing the behaviours of malicious code and then create signatures to detect and defend against it.Malware, such as Trojan horse, Worms and Spyware severely threatens the forensic security. This research observed that although malware and its variants may vary a lot from content signatures, they share some behaviour features at a higher level which are more precise in revealing the real intent of malware. This paper investigates the various techniques of malware behaviour extraction and analysis. In addition, we discuss the implications of malware analysis tools for malware detection based on various techniques.
Ransomware protection in loT using software defined networking IJECEIAES
Internet of things (IoT) is the network of physical objects connected to provide various services. IoT is expanding rapidly, and is positively influencing many areas. The impact of IoT is evident in medical field, manufacturing units and livestock. The IoT is also vulnerable to many cyber threats, owing to its limited resources and battery operation. In contemporary times the security threats like DDoS, botnet malware, man in the middle, flood attacks and ransomware are affecting the smooth functioning of IoT. Ransomware has emerged as one of the biggest threat in cyber world. Ransomware is a type of malware that stops the access to files by encrypting them and decrypts the files only when a ransom is paid. The negligence towards the IoT ransomware can result in disastrous outcomes. In this paper, the growth of ransomware attacks for past few years is shown with special focus on ransomwares threatening IoT. A detection mechanism for IoT ransomware attack is presented that is designed after study of ransomware for IoT. The proposed model monitors the incoming IoT traffic through Software Defined Network (SDN) gateway. It uses policies framed in SDN controller for detection and alleviation of ransomware in IoT.
One of the key methods cybercriminals are using is ransomware, most famously the Cryptolocker malware,
and its numerous variants, which encrypts the files on a user’s computer and demands the user to pay a ransom, usually in Bitcoins, in order to receive the key to decrypt the files. But Cryptolocker is just one approach that criminals are taking to demand ransom, and the techniques are evolving on a daily basis. To guard against ransomware, it is not enough to know the malware that is making the rounds that day. It is vital to have a broader understanding of the topic, so one can take effective countermeasures against this evolving threat.
Review on mobile threats and detection techniquesijdpsjournal
Since last-decade, smart-phones have gained widespread usage. Mobile devices store personal details
such as contacts and text messages. Due to this extensive growth, smart-phones are attracted towards
cyber-criminals. In this research work, we have done a systematic review of the terms related to malware
detection algorithms and have also summarized behavioral description of some known mobile malwares
in tabular form. After careful solicitation of all the possible methods and algorithms for detection of
mobile-based malwares, we give some recommendations for designing future malware detection algorithm
by considering computational complexity and detection ration of mobile malwares.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

12. World Health Organization Facing Cyber Attacks
During Coronavirus Response
A malicious site imitating the WHO’s email system was created to collect the
account information of the organization’s employees.
The activity began around March 13.
It was suspected that, ‘DarkHotel’ APT group is behind this incident.
The password-stealing attack went unsuccessful, confirmed by Flavio Aggio
(CISO, WHO) in a conversation with Reuters reporters.
13. TrickBot Mobile App Bypasses 2‐Factor
Authentication for Net Banking Services
When the malware is run, it exfiltrates a wide range of information, including —
● Personal device information
● SMS messages
● Recording targeted applications for a one-time password (TAN)
● Photos
Earlier in March, the malware added a new feature, a module called rdpScanDLL,
that brute forces remote desktop protocol (RDP) accounts. Also this past month,
TrickBot added a Windows 10 ActiveX control to execute malicious macros.
14. Microsoft reveals 2 unpatched Zero - days flaws in

Type 1 fonts.
For now, there’s no software fix, which could be as far away as the next
‘Patch Tuesday’ update, scheduled for 14 April 2020.
