The Spanish Society of Social and Health Care (SEAS) is a non-profit organization located in Spain that aims to protect dependent people and their caregivers, advise public and private social/health organizations, and conduct research to improve quality of life for the elderly and disabled. Composed of researchers from the University of Valencia, SEAS has expertise in developing research and technologies to address the needs of dependent groups. It has experience conducting projects at the local, national, and European level on issues relating to social/healthcare systems, accessible tourism, and assessing new technologies for elderly and disabled individuals.

The Spanish Society of Social and Health Care
The Spanish Society of Social and Health Care is a non profit
organisation located in Spain. The goals of the entity are the following:
the protection and defence of rights and interests of dependent
people, their families and main carers;
to advise Public Administrations and social and health care private
companies;
the promotion of the research and the dissemination of scientific
results and knowledge in the area of social an health care; and
to provide quality services to companies of this sector.
SEAS is composed by researchers and professors of the University of
Valencia, Spain, with high experience in R&D in the social and health sector
and has shown the capability to develop R&D, addressing the knowledge to
improve the quality of life of the elderly and disabled.
SEAS can provide expertise, knowledge and previous researches in the
following challenge of 7FP ICT Challenge 5: ICT for Health, Ageing Well,
Inclusion and Governance and also in the requirement definition stage of
the project, and the analysis of the results.
SEAS has also developed and has transferred research in the social and
health sector, quality services and in innovative systems for dependent
people (disabled and elderly) in different local or European projects.
SEAS has experience in research also from a comparative point of view of
the health and social systems implemented in different countries, as well as
real European examples of good practices to improve the situation of the
disabled and dependent people, and therefore contributing to improve the
accessibility, adequacy, equity, quality, modernisation and
sustainability principles in social and health systems. SEAS remains
aware of the needs of dependent and disabled people and develops a very
important labor looking for innovative solutions having experience in
validating technologies concerning the elder and disabled people.
SEAS has developed regional projects about accessible tourism. It also
collaborates in European projects (Ambient Assisted Living – AAL, VI

2. Program Framework), related to the present policies, services and
technology for the disabled. In summary, SEAS has a large expertise
relating to the assessment of the new technologies in response to the needs
of the elderly and disabled people.
Apart from that, SEAS also has contacts with national and European
networks focused on the protection and promotion of ageing and disabled
rights, and residences for the elder and for disabled people.
