1. ERI POLIBIENESTAR, UNIVERSITY OF VALENCIA
ERI POLIBIENESTAR of the University of Valencia (http://www.polibienestar.org) is a
research centre belonging to the University of Valencia and it is a referring group in
Spain and in the Region of Valencia.
ERI POLIBIENESTAR is specialized in research, development and innovation,
validation of technologies for the elder and the disabled people, management of social
policies, health and social care and assessment in issues regarding: active ageing,
disability and dependence. Due to our expertise, knowledge and previous
researches we would be very interested in collaborating in the following challenge
of 7FP ICT Challenge 5: ICT for Health, Ageing Well, Inclusion and Governance.
Nowadays, its main line of research is focused on studies and R+D projects on social
and health care to support the elder and disabled people. ERI POLIBIENESTAR has
been compiling ample know-how demonstrated in:
• dependency issues;
• health and social care;
• bioethics principles;
• efficiency and innovation on social and health resources;
• population ageing;
• social policy systems;
• new management and funding models for social and health policies;
• social sustainability: new strategies for health and social care welfare quality, and
• methodology for case management.
ERI POLIBIENESTAR is integrated by different professionals with important R&D
expertise including sociologist, psychologists, doctors and lawyers, among others.
Its long experience integrating research and social policy makes ERI
POLIBIENESTAR an expert in ageing.

2. ERI POLIBIENESTAR has expertise in advisory services to the Spanish national
government and private organizations on sustainability, viability, efficiency, social
and economical rationality of social and health care resources, and their
management and exploitation. Actually, ERI POLIBIENESTAR advises the Regional
Government of Valencia (Generalitat Valenciana) in the development of social and
health care resources for dependent people, as well as to other private companies
which invest and operate these type of resources, giving special attention to the
incorporation of new technologies.
ERI POLIBIENESTAR participates in several European projects (VI and VII Framework
Programme) most of them regarding disability and ageing, and participates and
coordinates some national projects funded by the government of Spain, evaluating
the adequacy of new policies, services and technology for disabled people, and their
impact in quality of life of the older people.
ERI POLIBIENESTAR is coordinating the LivingAll project (www.livingall.eu) funded
by the VI Framework Programme of the European Commission, the aim of the
LivingAll project is to support free movement and equal opportunities for disabled
people; ERI POLIBIENESTAR participates as well in the INTERLINKS - Health systems
and long-term care for older people in Europe project
(http://www.euro.centre.org/interlinks), funded under 7th Framework Programme,
Research Area: HEALTH-2007- 3.2-2 Health systems and long term care of the
elderly.
On the other hand, ERI POLIBIENESTAR has collaborated in private and public local
initiatives School of Studies for Health of Valencia, Conselleria de Bienestar Social,
(regional government of Valencia of Social Welfare).
Finally, the high formation in R&D of the researchers of ERI POLIBIENESTAR has
been recognised in many articles published in scientific journals with significant
impact index.
