1 INT. CLASSROOM - DAY 1
A well lit classroom, with desks and chairs. 5 students
are taking their A2 Business exam. Focusing on Scarlett, a
small blonde girl with mid length hair that is tied up.
Scarlett is wearing a black top and black jeans, and
appears worried and stressed. The audience sees her
business exam sitting on the table, with a question asking
her to describe an innovative business idea.
2 INT. SCHOOL OFFICE - DAY 2
A well lit school office. The audience can see a desk with
a pile of envelopes on it, computers, chairs and coffee
machine. Scarlett walks in, wearing a red leotard black
tracksuit bottoms and a jacket. She seems happy.
RECEPTIONIST
(Joyfully)
Hi Scarlett! how has your summer
been?
SCARLETT
It’s been good! I’m just here to
pickup my results.
The receptionist looks through the pile of envelopes, and
retrieves Scarlett’s.
RECEPTIONIST
Here you are.
SCARLETT
Thank you!
Scarlett walks out of the office door, eagerly tearing
open her results. The audience can see the door close
behind her.
SCARLETT
(Loud, horrified shriek)
FUCK!
3 INT. KITCHEN - DAY 3
A well lit kitchen, with white countertops and cupboards,
and large patio doors. Scarlett is sitting on one of the
counter chairs, she looks upset; with her mother sitting
on the opposite side of the kitchen and her father
standing next to her. Her father looks enraged, while the
mother is looking upon her with pity.
MOTHER
(Softly)
We’re just disappointed for you
darling.
(MORE)

MOTHER (cont’d)
Father
(pacing)
21,000 fucking pounds!
MOTHER
We really need talk about your
next step. Perhaps you should
retake your exams?
FATHER
Retake her exams?! Are you
fucking joking, if you think I’m
spending more money you’re
joking.
MOTHER
Steven, why don’t we discuss with
Scarlett what we talked about
last night.
FATHER
Scarlett, you’re a spoilt,
entitled -
MOTHER
Oh for god’s sake, I’ll do it.
Scarlett, we have decided that
you must get a job over the
summer, in order for you to learn
the value of money.
SCARLETT
WHAT?!
FATHER
A job, you know, what I go to
from 9 to 5 every day for you to
throw my money in the shitter?
MOTHER
Steven, stop, your ranting really
is not at all useful. Scarlett,
we are giving you two days to get
a job of we are cutting you off.
SCARLETT
TWO DAYS?! That’s-
FATHER
End of discussion. You have two
days.
The audience sees Scarlett’s father storming out of the
kitchen, and her mother looking upon her with pity.

4 INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT 4
A dimly lit bedroom, with a desk, a bed and a dressing
table. Scarlett is sitting at her desk, writing her CV on
her computer, while sipping a cup of tea.
SCARLETT
Two fucking days to get a job,
what a travesty.
The audience sees her computer screen as she presses print
on her computer.
SCARLETT
Ok, file, print...oh it’s
unplugged.
Scarlett stands up, cup of tea in hand, and goes to plug
her printer into the extension lead. As she does this, she
trips, and spills tea all over the lead.
SCARLETT
SHIT!
Scarlett grabs a nearby towel, and attempts to dry it off,
to no avail. The audience sees her typing on her computer
as she goes online and orders an extension lead.
5 INT. BATHROOM - DAY 5
A well lit bathroom. The audience sees a pyjama clad
Scarlett bent over the kitchen sink washing her face.
6 EXT. HOUSE - DAY 6
The outside of Scarlett’s house, there are chairs and a
table in the front garden. There is a deliveryman holding
a large box, walking up to her front door.
7 INT. BATHROOM - DAY 7
Scarlett is drying off her face as she hears the doorbell
ring. She starts downstairs.
8 INT. FRONT ROOM - DAY 8
A dimly lit room with three chairs and a fireplace.
Scarlett runs downstairs and opens the door, retrieving
the box from the deliveryman.
SCARLETT
(Sweetly)
Thank you!
Scarlett closes the door, the audience sees her walking
upstairs.

9 INT. BEDROOM - DAY 9
A well lit bedroom, the audience see’s Scarlett enter and
drop the box on the floor. Opening it, she realises she’s
ordered 20 extension leads, rather than just one.
SCARLETT
(Exasperated)
Well...guess I don’t need to buy
any of these for the next decade.
Scarlett plugs the new extension lead in, plugs in the
printer, and prints her CV. The audience sees it lying on
the floor.
10 INT. BATHROOM - DAY - MONTAGE 10
A well lit bathroom, Scarlett looking in the mirror,
trying on an outfit. She places a pair of glasses on her
nose and admires herself.
Scarlett in another outfit, again she tries on some
glasses, but this time decides against them and removes
them.
11 INT. BEDROOM - DAY 11
A well lit bedroom. Scarlett tries on a pair of shoes.
Scarlett tries on another pair of shoes.
Scarlett tries on another pair of shoes.
12 EXT. STREET - DAY 12
Scarlett walking down the street, with her CV in a folder
in her hand.
13 INT. SHOP - DAY 13
A dimly lit cafe, with a counter with baked goods, tables,
and chairs. A waitress hands Scarlett’s CV back to her,
shaking her head.
14 INT. SHOP - DAY 14
A dimly lit book store, shelves of books lining the walls.
A shop assistant hands Scarlett’s CV back to her, shaking
her head.
15 INT. SHOP - DAY 15
A dimly lit cafe, with tables and chairs. A waitress hands
Scarlett’s CV back to her, shaking her head.

16 INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT 16
A dimly lit bedroom, with papers strewn across the floor.
The doorbell rings, Scarlett runs downstairs.
17 INT. FRONTROOM - NIGHT 17
A dimly lit front room. Scarlett opens the door, and finds
more extension leads at the door. She is confused.
18 INT. SHOP - DAY 18
A well lit cafe, with tables and chairs. Scarlett’s CV is
handed back to her by a waitress shaking her head.
19 INT. SHOP - DAY 19
A dimly lit shop, with food on the shelves. A shop
assistant hands Scarlett’s CV back to her, shaking her
head.
20 INT. SHOP - DAY 20
A dimly lit restaurant, with tables and chairs. A waitress
hands Scarlett’s CV back to her, shaking her head.
21 INT. FRONT ROOM - DAY 21
A dimly lit front room, Scarlett opens the door, and finds
another box of extension leads. She rolls her eyes, and
slams the door.
END MONTAGE
22 INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT 22
Scarlett sits on the floor, surrounded by her boxes of
extension leads.
SCARLETT
Well, I’ve got no jib, more
extension leads than i can count,
and no time left. Brilliant...
Scarlett looks around her at all of her extension cables.
SCARLETT
Wait...
Scarlett stands up and goes to the computer. She sees that
on eBay, she can sell the 60 extension leads she bought at
one pound a piece for 60 pounds, she can sell for 10
pounds a piece on eBay, totalling 600 pounds. She begins
putting them up online, and they start selling
immediately.

23 INT. CLASSROOM - DAY 23
Scarlett wakes up in her business exam. Confused, she
realises that she fell asleep, and has 30 minutes of her
exam left. With a new great business plan to write about,
she finishes her exam.
