In the heart of Britain, a couple are rapidly preparing to go
to work. Fast paced scene. Woman sorts her partners tie,
drinking from their thermal coffee cups as they rush to exit
the house.
OSCAR, aged in his late 20’s, accountant who is obsessed with
working, dressed smartly.
OSCAR
I Have a meeting at 12 and 1 with
the bank manager, so don’t ring me
till at least after 2.
LILY, aged in her late 20’s, struggling author of romantic
novels, reserved and laid back.
LILY
Here are your notes, don’t forget about
these.
LILY hands the notes to OSCAR
OSCAR
I’ll see you later, I love you.
Looks behind while leaving the house, in search for LILY.
LILLY stands in the door way looking at Oscar as he glances
back, and collapse in SLOW MOTION.
FADE TO BLACK
INT.COUPLES BEDROOM – DAY
LILY is in bed, clearly something is wrong as she looks pale
and ill. OSCAR enters the room, and sits beside LILY looking
concerned, passes her a drink.
OSCAR
How are you feeling?
FADE OUT/IN

2. EXT, EMPTY STREET - NIGHT
OSCAR and LILY walk down a road, holding hands under a street
light, at night.
FADE OUT/IN
INT. HOME ON THE SOFA – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY appear to be happy and laughing together.
FADE OUT/IN
INT. OUT, SAT AT A TABLE – DAY
LILY grabs OSCARS face as though to kiss.
FADE OUT/IN
LILY
Exhausted.
FADE IN
INT. AT OFFICE DESK – LATE EVENING
OSCAR is sat working at a desk with a small lamp which lights
his face to show him with large amounts of work/papers. STEVE
(Friend)sits down, and hands OSCAR a drink.
STEVE
Me and the others are planning on taking
Lily out for the day, give you some time
to catch up with work.
OSCAR looks at STEVE with appreciation and worry.
FADE IN
INT, HALL WAY/FRONT DOOR – MORNING
LILY is assisted by her friends out of the door. The door
closes and cuts to black.
FADE IN
INT. BEDROOM – MORNING
OSCAR decided to tidy while LILY is gone and begins by making
the bed, while doing so, a piece of paper falls on the floor
which contains the list. OSCAR retrieves the paper and begins
to read it. Cuts to a shot of the paper revealing the bucket
list.

3. EXT. STREET – AFTERNOON
OSCAR and STEVE are walking down the street in conversation.
OSCAR
I found her bucket list.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE IN THE BACKGROUND – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY are lying outside on the grass, looking up at
the sky looking at stars.
V.O. STEVE
What Lily’s?
FADE OUT
INT. INSIDE CAR – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY are overly singing and dancing in their car.
V.O.OSCAR
I feel it’s my duty to ensure that
everything on her list is completed.
FADE OUT
INT. KITCHEN – AFTERNOON
OSCAR offers LILY a chocolate from a newly opened box.
FADE OUT/IN
EXT. WALKING IN THE PARK – AFTERNOON
OSCAR and LILY are walking their dog, BARLOW through the park.
FADE OUT
EXT. ON A PADDLE BOAT
OSCAR decided to take LILY on a paddle boat to complete bucket
list tasks. There is a voice of LILY laughing while steering
the boat.
FADE OUT
EXT. PARK – AFTERNOON
OSCAR is reading a book laying on his front with LILY is leaning
against him. OSCAR looks down at her and they fix contact.
FADE OUT

4. INT. ROOM – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY clink glasses, in celebration to something.
Which shows they are both happy.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE – AFTERNOON
OSCAR hugs LILY around her neck, she appears to be ill and
unhappy.
V.O. OSCAR
I haven’t got forever.
FADE TO BLACK

EXT. OUTSIDE, ON A ROAD – DULL DAY
OSCAR is running down a road.
FADE OUT
INT. INSIDE THEIR HOUSE – NIGHT
OSCAR and LILY appear to be in confrontation. LILY is crying
and upset.
LILY
You’re only doing this because of our situ-
ation.
OSCAR
I thought this is was what you wanted?
LILY
I’m going to die OSCAR.
OSCAR
Don’t say that!
LILY
You need to realise that it’s true and
there’s nothing you can do to change that.
FADE OUT

5. EXT. OUTSIDE ON PATIO – NIGHT
OSCAR leans against the wall, holding a drink and looking
upset.
FADE OUT
INT. INSIDE THEIR HOUSE, LOOKING OUT THE WINDOW WHILST WRITING
– COLD AFTERNOON
Table is covered in paper, looking for inspiration to write
her book.
FADE OUT
INT. IN KITCHEN – DULL DAY
OSCAR is shown holding LILY’S bucket list, ticking off the
tasks as they are completed.
FADE OUT
INT. IN BED – BRIGHT MORNING
LILY’S in bed, asleep.
FADE OUT
INT. GARDEN – BRIGHT DAY
OSCAR and LILY intimately hug, as though they have realised
what their life has come to.
FADE OUT
INT. BATHROOM – MORNING
OSCAR interrupts LILY in the process of brushing her teeth,
his plans to take her out.
OSCAR
How about we go out today?
LILY
We can’t today.
OSCAR
Why?
LILY
I need to finish my writing?
FADE OUT

6. INT. STUDY – BRIGHT DAY
LILY is seen hand writing her book, around her piled desk.
V.O. OSCAR
You can’t spend forever writing this book
LILY.
INT. STUDY – AT NIGHT
OSCAR is seen standing in the door way checking on LILY still
writing her book, now on a computer.
FADE OUT
INT. BEDROOM
OSCAR finds the bucket list and is seen looking through the
tasks when he is seen turning it over, to then realise the
last task is ‘To finish my book’.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE – DAY TIME
LILY and OSCAR are looking over into a pond to admire the
fish/ducks on a day out.
FADE OUT
EXT. PARK – BRIGHT DAY
OSCAR and LILY play Frisbee with BARLOW, they are laughing and
having fun.
FADE OUT
INT. ARCADE – NIGHT TIME
OSCAR and LILY are with their friends crowded round a slot
machine.
FADE OUT
EXT. SEA SIDE FAIR GROUND – EVENING
LILY is on the bumper cars with friends having a nice time.
OSCAR glances over at LILY having a laugh with her friends.
FADE OUT
INT. IN THE BEDROOM – EVENING
LILY and OSCAR have a pillow fight.
FADE OUT
EXT. BEACH – EARLY EVENING

7. OSCAR and LILY are at the beach, where he proposes to her.
LILY decides to say yes and hugs OSCAR.

EXT. HILL – DAY
OSCAR and LILY are walking either side of the road, looking at
each other.
FADE OUT
INT. LIVING ROOM
LILY sits with her friends SAMANTHA as they discuss wedding
plans.
FADE OUT
INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
OSCAR flicks through her book, and slips bucket list into the
back.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE ON THE GROUND
OSCAR and LILY are gazing up into the sky in search of stars.
V.O. LILY
How lucky am I to have something that
makes saying goodbye so hard.

INT. LILYS STUDY AT A COMPUTER
