INT. A MODERN HOUSE – MORNING
In the heart of Britain, a romantic couple are rushing around
to get ready for work. This is a fast paced scene. The woman
sorts out the man’s tie. They are both drinking from coffee
mugs. They then both head to exit the house.
OSCAR, aged in his late 20’s, an accountant, work obsessed,
smartly dressed.
OSCAR
I have a meeting at 12 and another at 1, with the bank
manager, so don’t ring me until at least after 2!
LILY, also aged in her late 20’s, a struggling author, laid
back, reserved.
LILY
Here are your notes, don’t forget them.
LILY hands the notes to OSCAR.
OSCAR
I’ll see you later, I love you.
OSCAR looks behind whilst leaving, as if in search for LILY.
LILY stands in the door arch and in SLOW MOTION she collapses.
FADE TO BLACK AND THEN BACK UP
INT. BEDROOM – DAY
LILY is lying in bed in her and OSCAR’S room. Something is
clearly wrong. OSCAR enters the room and sits next to LILY. He
hands her a glass of water.
OSCAR
How do you feel?
FADE OUT/IN
EXT. EMPTY STREET – NIGHT
OSCAR and LILY are holding hands, walking down a road, under a
street light at night time.
FADE OUT/IN
INT. AT HOME, ON THE SOFA – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY are shown laughing. They appear to be happy.
FADE OUT/IN
INT. OUT, AT THE DINNER TABLE – DAY
LILY grabs OSCAR’S face to kiss it.
FADE OUT/IN
LILY looks exhausted.
FADE IN
INT. OFFICE, AT WORK DESK – LATE EVENING
A small lamp lights the desk and there is a large pile of
paperwork on the table. (STEVE) Friend sits down, bringing
OSCAR a drink.
STEVE
I can take LILY out for the day with the others; it’ll take
pressure away from you for a couple of hours.
OSCAR looks at STEVE with appreciation but also worry.
INT. HALL WAY, FRONT DOOR – MORNING
LILY is being led out the front door by a female friend. The
door closes shut and fades to black.
FADE IN
INT. BEDROOM – MORNING
OSCAR is making the bed. Whilst doing so he notices a piece of
paper fall to the floor. This piece of paper has a list
written on it. OSCAR picks the paper up from the floor and
begins to read it. CUTS to a shot of the list, revealing it is
in fact a bucket list LILY has created.
FADE IN
EXT. STREET - AFTERNOON
OSCAR and STEVE walk next to each other.
OSCAR
I found her bucket list.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY are lying on the grass and looking up at the
stars.
V.O. STEVE
What Lily’s?
FADE OUT
INT. INSIDE CAR – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY are overdramatically singing and dancing about
in a car.
V.O. OSCAR
I feel like it’s my duty to ensure that everything is
completed on her list.
FADE OUT
INT. KITCHEN – AFTERNOON
OSCAR offers LILY a chocolate from a box.
FADE OUT
EXT. PARK – AFTERNOON, SUNNY
OSCAR and LILY are walking their dog BARLOW.
FADE OUT
INT. ON A PADDLE BOAT – AFTERNOON, SUNNY
OSCAR and LILY are seen to be enjoying themselves sailing.
This completes one of the many wishes from LILY’S list. A
VOICE OVER of LILY laughing plays.

EXT. FIELD/PARK – AFTERNOON
OSCAR is reading a book, whilst LILY leans against him. OSCAR
looks down to her and fixes eye contact.

INT. LIVING ROOM – EVENING
OSCAR and LILY clink glasses in celebration of something. They
both appear to be happy.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE – AFTERNOON
OSCAR lovingly hugs LILY around her neck, she looks ill and
unhappy.
V.O. OSCAR
I haven’t got forever.
FADE TO BLACK
EXT. OUTSIDE, ON A ROAD – DULL DAY
OSCAR is running down a road.
FADE OUT
INT. INSIDE THEIR HOUSE – NIGHT TIME
OSCAR and LILY are shouting and appear to be in a conflict.
LILY is upset and crying.
LILY
You are only doing this because I’m ill.
OSCAR
I thought this was what you wanted?
LILY
I’m going to die Oscar.
OSCAR
Don’t say that!
LILY
You need to realise that it’s true and there’s nothing you can
do to change it.
FADE OUT
EXT. OUTSIDE ON PATIO – NIGHT
OSCAR leans against a wall, holding an alcoholic drink. He
looks upset.
FADE OUT
INT.INSIDE HOUSE, LILLY IS LOOKING OUT OF A WINDOW WHILST
WRITING – AFTERNOON, COLD.
Table is piled with paper. LILY is looking for inspiration for
her writing.
FADE OUT
INT. KITCHEN – DULL DAY
OSCAR is seen holding the list looking rather upset. He is
ticking off some of the wishes.
FADE OUT
INT. IN BED – BRIGHT DAY
LILY is in bed, asleep.
FADE OUT
INT. GARDEN – BRIGHT DAY
OSCAR and LILY share a warm hug with each other, as if
realising what is to come.

INT. BATHROOM – MORNING
OSCAR interrupts LILY brushing her teeth to tell her his
plans.
OSCAR
How about we go out today?
LILY
We can’t. I need to finish my writing.
FADE OUT
INT. STUDY ROOM – QUITE BRIGHT DAY
LILY is seen hand-writing her book. She is surrounded by a
pile of notes with her ideas on.
V.O OSCAR
You can’t spend forever writing this book LILY.
FADE OUT
INT. STUDY ROOM – LATE AT NIGHT
LILY is still writing her book, however this time on her
laptop. OSCAR is standing in the door way behind her looking
concerned.
FADE OUT
INT. BEDROOM
OSCAR turns over the list. He finds written on the back is
LILY’S final wish: ‘To finish my novel’.

EXT. OUTSIDE – DAY TIME
LILY and OSCAR are looking in a pond at some fish and ducks.

EXT. PARK – BRIGHT DAY
LILY and OSCAR are playing Frisbee with BARLOW, they are
laughing.

INT. ARCADE – NIGHT TIME
OSCAR and LILY are with friends crowded around a slot machine.

EXT. SEA SIDE FAIR – EVENING
LILY is on the bumper cars with friends having a fun time.
OSCAR glances at LILY with a smile.

INT. BEDROOM – EVENING
LILY and OSCAR are having a pillow fight.

EXT. BEACH – EARLY EVENING
OSCAR and LILY are at a beach. OSCAR proposes to LILY. LILY
says yes. They hug in delight.
