and classification of speech sounds,
particularly how sounds are produced,
transmitted and received. It is divided into
three types.
Articulatory phonetics

word, or sentence, as opposed to when
spoken in isolation. It is further divided in four

scope in practical applications in different
fields.
5. Clinical Phonetics is the applications of
phonetics to describe speech differences and
disorders, including information about
speech sounds and the perceptual skills. It
studies body action and responses towards
language or speech or pronunciation.
6. Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) studies
and treat speech, language, and communication
disorders.
Logopedics are centered on the development,
disorders, assessment and rehabilitation of
speech, language, voice, communication and
swallowing functions.
ArticulationTherapists medicate through
articulation therapy to help a child produce
challenging sounds and achieve age-appropriate
speech.
7. A transcriptionist is a specialist in
documentation.The job entails listening to
voice recordings and converting them into
written documents.The job might involve
transcribing recordings of legal, medical and
other topics. Some professional
transcriptionists prefer to specialize in a
specific field such as law or medicine, but you
can do general transcription if you wish.
8. Anthropologist:They study the relationship
between language and culture it usually refers to work
on languages that have no written records.
TEFL/TESLTeaching: TEFL is a term for teaching
English to students of any age whose first language is
not English.TESL refers to teaching students who will
be using English instead of their native language after
moving to an English-speaking country.

main goal is to build systems.
Speech synthesis: Systems for converting text
to speech or together with natural language

individuals or language groups by the way they
speak and systems for the conversion of speech
to text.
Monitoring of well-being and mood.
Technologies for using changes to the voice to
monitor physical and mental health.
10. Forensic speaker comparison: Study of
recordings of the speech of perpetrators of
crimes to provide evidence for or against the
guilt of a suspect.
Assessment and therapy for disorders of
speech and hearing.Technologies for the
assessment of communication disorders, for the
provision of therapeutic procedures, or for
communication aids.
Language pronunciation teaching. Systems for
the assessment of pronunciation quality, used in
second language learning

aspects in music and that several neural
modules are similarly involved in speech and
music. Also the musicians use phonetic
alphabets to learn a new language or sound.

criminal justice system and crime itself.

texts, such as judgments of the Court of
Justice and General Court.They also work for
voice recognition and identification which is
the matching of voices, say a threatening
voice on a phone call to a suspect and
veracity analysis

Advertising Industry: Phonetics is used in
the promotion of products through symbolic
language.
