There are many types of manuscripts and journals that can be submitted to. Manuscripts can be original research, letters, case reports, reviews, or other types of submissions. Journals can be general or specialty-focused, peer-reviewed or not, academic or industry-sponsored. A common structure for manuscripts is the IMRAD format which includes an introduction, methods, results, and discussion section. Additional components that should be included are titles, authors, references, tables/figures, and statements regarding trials registration and conflicts of interest.
