14. Reflections
• When I went there, I saw many tourists snapping away at the beautiful
scenery and flora. I also saw teachers bringing primary school students for
an excursion. There was an artist and a group of adults learning how to
draw nature. I learnt that plants grow strategically to optimise their
chances of being pollinated. For example, insect pollinated plants are
positioned near top. This helps to attract more insects as the insects are
able to spot the brightly coloured petals more easily. The wind pollinated
flowers grow near the edges as so that the pollen grains will be deposited
on the stigmas. This trip definitely enhanced my scientific knowledge as I
got to learn more about nature.
