Energy conservation involves reducing energy consumption through increased efficiency or reduced usage. It can be achieved by using energy more efficiently or reducing energy services. Energy conservation provides benefits like environmental protection, national security, personal finances, and cost savings. It is at the top of the sustainable energy hierarchy and prevents future resource depletion by lowering energy costs. Some countries employ energy or carbon taxes to motivate lower consumption and shift usage to alternative energy sources with different environmental impacts. California employs a tiered energy tax where the tax increases drastically for usage above a baseline allowance, aiming to protect lower-income households while taxing high energy consumers more.

Energy is the basic necessity of all humans on Earth. It is a key factor that determines the economy of the country.
Energy business in India is vastly growing with demand. It aims in exploring opportunities for sustainable growth, development and economy. It brings awareness on energy saving, energy efficiency through their projects.
This paper finally concludes giving the Energy saving techniques to be incorporated in all the sectors to curb the power crisis situation in current Indian scenario.
Use of distributed electricity generation systems is currently increasing due to their economic and environmental benefits. Agricultural greenhouses require heat and electricity for covering their energy needs while their annual energy requirements vary significantly. Aim of the current work is the investigation of applying various distributed electricity generation systems in greenhouses. A review of different distributed generation systems currently used in various sectors as well as in greenhouses has been implemented. Various technologies are examined utilizing either renewable energies or fossil fuels in very efficient energy systems. Most of them are mature and cost-effective having lower environmental impacts compared with traditional centralized electricity generation technologies. Their use in greenhouses results in many benefits including the creation of an additional income for the farmer, reduction of carbon emissions into the atmosphere and increasing stability of the electric grid. It is suggested that distributed electricity generation systems should be used more in greenhouses when the necessary conditions are favorable.

RENEWABLE ENERGY TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE POWER SUPPLY IN THE NIGERIAN POWER IND...IAEME Publication
The challenge of climate change results primarily from the global use of fossil
fuel. Renewable energy as alternative energy source allows the use of natural sources
such as micro-hydro, wind; solar, and biomass that are sustainable to be explored.
The increase in the dependence on renewable energy calls for attention which can be
solved by the use of energy management. Energy management will provide a
consistent and controllable power supply. There is the need for the integration of
energy management into the grid planning and design. In this work, Energy
management using energy storage is thus considered as one design method for the
system to maximize simplicity and increase reliability using HOMER, a conventional
simulation tool.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

2. Energy conservation is the effort made to reduce
the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service.
This can be achieved either by using energy more
efficiently (using less energy for a constant service) or by
reducing the amount of service used (for example, by driving
less). Energy conservation is a part of the concept of eco-
sufficiency. Energy conservation reduces the need for energy
services and can result in
increased environmental quality, national security, personal
financial security and higher savings.[It is at the top of the
sustainable energy hierarchy. It also lowers energy costs by
preventing future resource depletion.
3. Energy can only be transformed from one form to other,
such as heat energy to motive power in cars, or kinetic energy of
water flow to electricity in hydroelectric power plants. However
machines are required to transform energy from one form to
other. The wear and friction of the components of these machine
while running cause loss of quadrillions of BTU and $500
billions in industries only in USA. It is possible to minimize these
losses by adopting green engineering practices to improve life
cycle of the components.(Ref.R.Chattopadhyay:Green Tribology,
Green Surface Engineering and Global Warming', ASM
International,USA, 2014. Also 3 books by same author published
earlier on wear, surface engineering and global warming.)
4. Some countries employ energy or carbon taxes to
motivate energy users to reduce their consumption. Carbon taxes
can force consumption to shift to nuclear power and other energy
sources that carry different sets of environmental side effects and
limitations. On the other hand, taxes on all energy consumption
can reduce energy use across the board while reducing a broader
array of environmental consequences arising from energy
production. The state of California employs a tiered energy tax
whereby every consumer receives a baseline energy allowance
that carries a low tax. As usage increases above that baseline, the
tax increases drastically. Such programs aim to protect poorer
households while creating a larger tax burden for high energy
consumers.[
