Koreatown in Los Angeles is a diverse neighborhood, with 54% of residents Latino, 32% Asian, and smaller percentages of white and black residents. It is located along Wilshire Boulevard, which was donated to the city in 1895 by Henry Gaylord Wilshire and named after him. Several historic buildings dot the neighborhood, including the Ambassador Hotel, Brown Derby restaurant, Wilshire Christian Church, and Chapman Market, though some no longer exist or have been replaced by other structures like shopping centers. Schools and Korean cultural centers like Koreatown Plaza and Galleria are also present.
