Samurai armor was made of many small metal plates and included large helmets. When not in battle, samurai would wear formal clothing like wide trousers and decorated jackets that showed their rank in society.

- Understand the goals and objectives of the Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP) curriculum, recognizing its importance in fostering practical life skills and values among students. - 2. Directions for Samurai 1. At the top of the page you should have a name for your samurai. 2. Below his/her name you should have a haiku that he/ she wrote about the Mongols that they defeated. (remember haikus have 3 lines that are 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables) 3. He/she should have sword made with the artisans name signed on it. 4. He/she should have armor, a mask and a helmet that resembles what the samurai actually wore.
- 3. Directions for Background 5. In the background of your samurai you should have a pyramid of power, showing who was at the bottom and who was at the top of the feudal samurai society. People on your pyramid should include (peasants, daimyo, shogun, samurai and emperor) 6. BUSHIDO (way of the warrior)- On a document hanging on a wall or tree, you should have a list of 8 characteristics of your samurai. Consider what characteristics a real samurai would have had in order to be a successful protector and warrior.

Rubric 1 2 3 4 * The name of Samurai is interesting and appealing. 1 2 3 4 * Haiku is engaging and represents the Mongolian defeat. 1 2 3 4 * The sword is creative and has the artisan’s name on it. 1 2 3 4 * Armor, mask, and helmet are colorful and resemble what a Samurai actually wore. 1 2 3 4 * Pyramid showing the feudal samurai society. 1 2 3 4 * Has 8 characteristics a real samurai would have had.
