Samsung SDI aims going further: introducing new and unconventional design for residential ESS by collaborating with the Korea's top design school, Hong-ik University's IDAS program (International Design school for Advanced Studies)

When you hear about B2B, you will
probably feel less excited and expect to
find something that is not fancy,
sophisticated or floppy.
So were we. And like all others, we were
also the everyday down to earth
B2B company.

3. Business
However, as we began to expand our
energy solution business from grid
scale to residential purposes, we were
faced with many obstacles.

4. Product
Even our marketers and sales
representatives made fun of our
residential product;
How do you expect us to sell this
stuff hahaha……

5. Idea
So we came up with an idea
“Since we are all boring B2B
people without any artistic talents,
why don’t we find a design
school to work with?”

6. Search
So, we went out to find the
right school for the project.

8. Partner
Our search for the right partner ended with a three hour meeting with
Professor Andrea. Upon our initial meeting, we instantly knew that we
had found the right place.
(It was almost like listening into Design 101 without a single break in
between. He was so enthusiastic and full of energy and his incessant
lecture about design was full of passion. His words moved us to take
action.)
