History & Information
• Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as
a trading company
• Samsung entered into electronic industry in late 1960s and
and construction, shipbuilding industries in mid 1970s
• In 1987, it was separated into 4 business groups –
Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group and Hansol
Group
