Raw milk and finished product samples are taken from tanks and lines to test for bacteria like coliforms and E.coli. Samples of liquid milk are collected using sterile sampling devices after disinfecting the collection area with ethanol and burning cotton wood. Raw milk and water are tested for coliforms and E.coli while pasteurized milk is tested for coliforms and yogurt is tested for coliforms, E.coli, and yeasts.
