Sampling is the process of taking a subset of a population to investigate and make inferences about the whole population. There are two main types of sampling: probability sampling and non-probability sampling. Probability sampling gives all members of the population an equal chance of being selected and includes simple random sampling, stratified sampling, and systematic sampling. Non-probability sampling does not give all members an equal chance and includes convenience sampling, judgement sampling, quota sampling, and snowball sampling.
