Constructivism was an art movement that originated in Russia between 1915-1940. It sought to create an abstract, experimental art that rejected the past and embraced modernity. Constructivist artworks pared compositions down to their basic elements and were rarely emotional. Prominent Constructivist artists included Vladimir Tatlin, Kasimir Malevich, Wassily Kandinsky, and Alexandra Exter. Their works from this period explored abstraction and the integration of art into everyday life.
