This document summarizes the opening address given at a global economic conference held by Hizb ut-Tahrir in Khartoum, Sudan in 2009. The address critiques the failed responses to the global financial crisis by capitalist nations and economists. It argues they only addressed surface-level symptoms and not the underlying flaws of capitalism. The address also argues mainstream economists ignore the viable alternative of Islam's economic system, which provided economic prosperity and security for centuries without crises. The opening call was for examining the real causes of periodic crises under capitalism and considering the superior system of Islamic economics.

The document discusses changes in technology and marketing over the past 20 years and into the future. It notes that 20 years ago there were no smartphones, DVDs, digital cameras or public internet. Today, nearly everyone uses the internet and tools are converging. The future of marketing will involve more connections between people and objects. While some see this as a revolution, the document argues it is really an evolution, as all media must now integrate dialogue. The main change is digital, as it allows companies to get closer to consumers like never before through creativity.

This document describes the synthesis and characterization of new macrocyclic complex compounds containing nickel(II), copper(II), and iron(II) coordinated with a ligand containing a tetraoxotetrahydrazin moiety. The complexes were characterized using techniques such as elemental analysis, UV-visible and IR spectroscopy, and magnetic moment measurements. The complexes were then tested for antibacterial activity against 14 pathogenic bacteria and compared to a standard antibiotic. The results indicate that the new complexes show potential as antimicrobial agents.
The document discusses open interest in derivatives markets. It defines open interest as the total number of futures or options contracts that have not been closed or delivered on a given day. The document explains that open interest increases when a new long position is opened and decreases when a position is closed. It provides examples of how open interest changes with different trading activities. The document also discusses inferences that can be drawn from changing open interest levels and trends in the underlying price.

1) Search funnels provide insights into the typical path consumers take from initial search to conversion, including assists from multiple clicks and keywords (43% of paid conversions include more than one click).
2) Understanding assists and time lags between clicks can help optimize budgets towards assisting keywords and segmenting messages per funnel stage.
3) Last click attribution is misleading as it ignores assists; search funnels reveal how keywords contribute to conversions without the last click.

Electrooxidation of methanol on carbon supported pt ru nanocatalysts prepared...tshankar20134
The document describes a study that prepared carbon-supported PtRu nanocatalysts using an ethanol reduction method for different reaction times. The catalysts were characterized using various techniques and tested for their electrocatalytic activity in methanol oxidation. XRD and TEM analysis showed the catalysts had an FCC structure with an average particle size of 3.7 nm. Cyclic voltammetry tests found that the catalyst prepared at a 2h reduction time had higher electrocatalytic activity and stability for methanol electrooxidation compared to the other catalysts. The results suggest these catalysts could be promising anode catalysts for direct methanol fuel cells.

This document describes the synthesis and characterization of Pt-Ru nanoparticles supported on a polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer functionalized carbon nanofiber (CNF) composite catalyst for application in direct methanol fuel cells. Pt-Ru nanoparticles with an average size of 2.6 nm were uniformly dispersed on the PAMAM/CNF composite support. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy analysis showed the well-dispersed and small Pt-Ru nanoparticles on the composite support. Cyclic voltammetry measurements demonstrated that the Pt-Ru/PAMAM-CNF composite electrode exhibited better electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation compared to a commercially available Pt-Ru/C catalyst. The results suggest

Jackson Pollock was an abstract painter best known for his "drip style" of pouring and dripping paint onto canvases laid on the floor. He used sticks, trowels, and knives to apply the paint rather than brushes. Pollock believed painting from all sides by moving around the canvas on the floor allowed him to be "inside" the painting. His innovative technique influenced many artists and had a profound impact on contemporary art by departing from traditional representational painting.

Islamic art began in the 7th century under the Umayyad Dynasty, influenced by Byzantine, Roman, Asian, early Christian and Sassanian art. As a hub for trade, Islamic regions exchanged knowledge, goods and art forms across Europe, northern Africa and Asia. Islamic art reflects these diverse influences and focuses on calligraphy, patterns and architecture over human forms due to prohibitions on idolatry. Calligraphy is prominently featured in decorative elements and architectural designs, while ceramics, metalworking and architecture also flourished as Islamic art forms. Iconic architectural works like the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem showcase the integration of religion and culture central to Islamic art traditions.
