Sabotin is a 609m mountain located between Brda and Solkan that saw some of the worst battles in World War 1 and contains many caverns that were used as shelters. The Soča River runs from the Julian Alps to Italy's Adriatic Sea over 138km and is one of Europe's most beautiful rivers, popular for kayaking and rafting. Nearby attractions include Sveta Gora church atop Nova Gorica at 682m, and an ossuary in Oslavje, Italy containing the remains of 57,740 soldiers.
