3. •There are two criminals, one from Jesus right
side and one from the left side. They are both
sentenced to death because they committed a
crime and their punishment was also to be
crucified. The other criminal says an insult to
Jesus for his own safety and the other criminal
rebukes him because he saw Jesus as one who
committed no sin and who Jesus is.
4. •How does Jesus react to this kind of
situation?
•What are the implications of this
passage for us today?
•What can we learn from two of the 7
last words of Christ while He was
hanging on the Cross?
5. •I. This reminds us that salvation is
active for those who believe and
accepted Christ (Luke 23:42)
•A. Confession
•B. Repentance
6. •The other criminal wants Jesus' to save himself
and save them also it's a time that he is in pain
and it's hard for him to see who Jesus is because
all he saw is his pain. The other Criminal even
though he was in pain he saw and
acknowledged who Jesus was and repented
from his sin. That's where salvation became
active for him
7. •Wag nang antayin na kung kaylan
may nangyaring di maganda sayo
o malapit ka nang mawawala saka
natin sasabihin na "Lord I offer my
life to you"
8. •II. This reminds us of the existence
of heaven is real for those who
believe and accepted Christ (Luke
23:43)
•A. Believe
•B. Receive
9. •There are three kinds of heaven in the Bible
•The term heaven is used in Scripture to refer to all
three realms. Psalm 104:12 speaks of “the birds of
the heavens” (ESV)—this would be the first heaven,
the atmosphere of Earth. In Isaiah 13:10 we find “the
stars of heaven and their constellations”—a reference
to the second heaven, outer space. And Revelation
11:19 describes the opening of “God’s temple in
heaven”—the third heaven, or God’s dwelling place
10. •The other criminal shows an instant
faith and Jesus saw the content of
his heart was genuine that's why He
made a promise to this criminal.
That promise was still active for us
today if we truly believe and accept
Jesus as our Savior and Lord (John
1:12 & 14:1-6).
11. •26 When Jesus saw his mother there,
and the disciple whom he loved
standing nearby, he said to her,
“woman, here is your son,” 27 and to
the disciple, “Here is your mother.”
From that time on, this disciple took
her into his home (John 19:26-27)
13. •III. This reminds us that we received a
commission from Christ to show
compassion to our parents (John
19:26-27)
•A. Last will of Jesus to Mary (v.26)
•B. Last will of Jesus to John (v.27)
14. •Thinking about what's best for them
•Thinking about what you can do for
them
•Thinking about how to comfort them
•There's no situation that can cut our
relationship to our parents
15. •Remember that Mary is Jesus' mother
in the flesh and they still have
attachment even though both of them
already knew what would happen. But
Jesus loves her mother so much that's
why He gave a command to John as
one of His disciples to take care of
Mary.
16. Conclusion:
Sa gitna ng sakit at pait, let
your pain be a blessings to
others where they can see
the character of Christ within
you
