Today Russia has got old and new
celebrations and old and new traditions
are connected with them.
For Russians the New Year’s Day is the most favourite holiday and many people like the
atmosphere of the day. People go out and set up fireworks, dance, sing round the New
Year’s Tree at night of December 31.Today it includes long New Year holidays for all the
people.
The President’s
New Year speech.
It is an old tradition. The
speech is made 5 or 10
minutes before the new
Year on TV. The
President wishes good
things for his people.
The President’s
telegram is sent to
famous people on their
anniversaries.
Celebrating Easter
in Russia.
It is the main religious holiday
for Christians in Russia.
Easter is observed by most
people in Russia. People go to
churches, eat Easter cakes.
At the same time they
present dyed eggs to each
other.
The 12th of June is the Day of Russia. It’s a new holiday. On that day
people go to the center of their city, watching different concerts and enjoy
the colorful fireworks.
The changing of the
Guard.
The changing of the Guard is
a very beautiful tradition.
Every hour from 8am till
20pm people can come to the
Kremlin wall and see the
Changing of the Guard.
