A.K. Ramanujan was an Indian poet and scholar who was born in 1929 in Mysore, India. He received his education from the University of Mysore and was known for his works written in English, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Sanskrit. Ramanujan received notable awards including the MacArthur Fellowship. He died in 1993 in Chicago at the age of 64.
