A rural electricity and domestic hot water system is described that uses a single solar panel. The panel generates 380 watts of electricity in full sun and also heats water circulating through rubber tubing strips on the rear of the panel. This dual use improves efficiency by cooling the panel and maintaining its temperature at 27.5°C for higher power output compared to conventional mounting. The heated water can be used for washing or cooking after sunset and the system's electrical output can charge a 12V battery for lighting and appliances overnight.
