The lack of an adolescent’s shelter to cater for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual [LGBT] adolescents has become an underpinning problem which direly needs to be addressed with the development of a shelter facility for these group. The shelter also ought to incorporate programs that facilitate the rehabilitation of these adolescents in the center and to mentor them on the importance of education and career development. Chapter 4: ADVOCACY IN SOCIAL WORK
Learning Objectives
After reading this chapter, you should be able to
1. Differentiate case advocacy and cause advocacy.
2. Summarize the ethical issues involved in advocacy.
3. Explain how advocacy is a signature aspect of social work practice.
4. Identify costs and benefits associated with advocacy.
5. Describe a cycle of advocacy.

Nancy Advocates to Professionalize
Social Work in Her State
Nancy is a SSW-level social worker residing in a state that recognizes and provides licensure only
for MSW-level clinical social workers who have passed a national examination and completed at
least 2 years of supervised clinical experience. The license is what allows clinical social workers
to enter private practice with individuals and families, obtain reimbursement through insurance
companies and other third parties, and tap into public funding sources. In contrast, BSW and
nonclinical MSW social workers have been limited to obtaining state certifications in social work.
These certifications lack credibility with potential clients and funding sources.
In Nancy's state, human service organizations rarely require proof of certificat ion or of a
degree in social work for employment as a social worker in nonclinical settings. So by law,
just about anyone with at least a bachelor's degree can choose to be called a social worker.
People who have majored in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, history, and English routinely
obtain employment in human service and mental health agencies in her state. They often refer
to themselves as social workers, care managers, caseworkers, and intervention specialists. As
a result, the general public believes that the term social worker can be applied to nearly anyone
doing good for others.
Nancy worked hard for her BSW degree and wonders how nonprofessionals can effectively
do the work without the training she has received. It seems to her that the potential for doing
harm is high.
The important point here is that Nancy is thinking and acting as an advocate. To ensure that
clients receive quality services from competent social workers, Nancy works with her National
Association of Social Workers state chapter and local social work educators to promote
state legislation that will establish licensure and title protection for all social workers. As their
recommended changes in state laws are considered, social workers and some client groups
have also been talking with administrators of social work agencies about how important it is to
require that every "social worker" in a human service position have a social work degree and be
appropriately educated.

that has a positive effect on the community.

Needs assessments are a form of research conducted to gather information about the needs of a population or a group in a community (Tutty & Rothery, 2010, p. 149). One purpose of a needs assessment is to explore in more depth whether a new program within an organization or agency is needed (Dudley, 2014, p. 117). Key questions of this type of needs assessment may revolve around: (1) whether there are enough prospective clients to warrant this type of program, (2) the different activities or programs that the respondents would be interested in using, priorities for some activities over others, (3) importance of the activities, and (4) times in which this program would be desired and used (Dudley, 2014, p. 117). Potential barriers for the implementation of a new program should also be assessed to ensure the best possible outcome. Some barriers to services could include factors such as: location, costs, potential need for fees, and possible psychological issues related to such things. The following is an assessment of an intensive outpatient program for youth, and a potential need that is currently being unmet.
Post a needs assessment plan for a potential program of your choice that meets a currently unmet need. Describe the unmet need and how current information supports your position that a needs assessment is warranted.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Provo Canyon Behavioral H.

Introduction: What is currently standing in my way of achieving these goals?I intend to do is a complete turnaround and modification of behavior and perspective in how to be better in leadership. One of the first crucial changes involves changing my habits and specifically ensuring that I am well informed on issues that affect the individuals under my leadership. This is in line with opening communication more and avoiding seclusion and being alone as it is the role of a leader to be always communicating or around his followers at most times. More crucial is to change how I conduct decision making and implement more logical and practical consideration to every situation as it is always good to find an advantage for everybody. To lead the mission to a fruitful conclusion, a leader must establish priorities and utilize the talents, creativity, resources and energy of his followers, generally imperfect individuals, and empower them to rise to and occasionally beyond their previously assumed potential. Great leaders establish a plan, a map to help them organize and ensure they have an appropriate and effective team in place, clearly communicate the plan to and lead their followers to the destination (Jackson, 2012)
Personal values: Needless to say, “all leaders, all human beings, have values. Values are beliefs that represent an individual’s ideas about what is right, good or desirable (Robbins, S. P. & Judge T. A., 2011, p. 144). My philosophy on leadership is founded on my collective life experiences, reflections, successes, and failures. I see a great correlation in terms of how leaders and followers come to meet and get a way forward. As such, I should express more respect for the leaders and followers that are able to listen and interact with me as it shows they support some of my opinions in terms of strength through relationships. I intend to essentially align and try to use my values as a guideline in everything I participate in and everything I say in my work, my relationships and in my family. Also, it is the nature of humans to make errors once in a while but not too often. As such, it is important to be more compassionate and understanding in order to provide an opportunity for them and me to learn from it as their failures are my failures. The manner in which contribution is usually provided is at times not appreciated and as a leader it is crucial to recognize efforts made in a team work setting.
What do I want to make out of my life? This requires a clear vision in order for it to be implemented. This means that I have to lay own my agenda and goals in order to be more accurate in achieving the overall development and growth. This should be in line with my work ethic and beliefs in order for it to be effective and more professional. This would provide me .

Introduction
Electronic Health Record (EHR) is the computerized storage and sharing of patients’ health information to help in continuous monitoring of the patients’ health (Shickel B., 2017). This is a system developed to enable health clinics share information that can help in providing effective medication to the patients with different kinds of health needs. The data on patients is stored and accessed by the clinics during visits from the patient which will help in care management of the patients. An electronic health record system can be helpful as the information stored consist of medical history of a patient, laboratory tests, treatment plans, immunization dates and various allergies of the patients. This is helpful when the patient visits different clinic health providers where they will not need to explain the situations over and over again.
Electronic health record system automates information sharing and reduces the traditional paper work which was tiresome and had a great risk of losing information. With the HER, information on patients is kept in a secure system where only authorized persons can access it. Errors are minimized in provision of health care since the information kept can be more accurate and available at any given time.
Wasatch Family Clinic will greatly benefit from this strategy of recording, keeping and sharing of information on patients. The nurses can use the system to easily record the patients’ names, numbers and all other critical information required during scheduling for clinical attendance of any patient. Tracing of the information will be easier compared to using the traditional form of papers in storing information for a patient.
Need to share data
Information on health status of a patient has to be kept with care and only authorized persons can be able to access them. This helps in building ethical handling of patients’ information which creates their trust on the health care providers (Drazen J., 2015).
Wasatch Family Clinic needs to share their health data with the patients for them to understand their health issues. The clinic also needs to share data with other health facilities in order to increase the patient’s safety and a great care.
Duplicate registrations will be avoided by sharing data in the different departments of the health care center. A real-time link can be created for the patients from registration, through consultation, testing and final medication. This can save Wasatch family Clinic from traditional paper work which took most time when searching for medical records of a patient at every stage in the clinic. Time can also be saved when the information of the patient is a system shared by the departments of the clinic health center.
Wasatch Family Clinic will also benefit economically when the data is shared improving service time and hence reducing.

The introduction of the paper begins here. Double-space throughout the paper, including the title page, abstract, body of the document, and references. The body of the paper begins on a new page (page 3). Subsections of the body of the paper do not begin on a new page. The title of the paper (in uppercase and lowercase letters) is centered on the first line below the running head. The introduction (which is not labeled) begins on the line following the paper title. Headings are used to organize the document and reflect the relative importance of sections. For example, many empirical research articles utilize Methods, Results, Discussion, and References headings. In turn, the Method section often has subheadings of Participants, Apparatus, and Procedure. Main headings (when the paper has either one or two levels of headings) use centered, boldface, uppercase and lowercase letters (e.g., Method, Results).

Serial murderer – an introduction
The crime of manslaughter has been known for a long time, to be specifically the early 1600’s but the initial case of a serial murderer was in the year 1888, named, Jack the Ripper, who killed and mutilated five prostitutes in the East London. Field experts have stated that at any time, the United States has around 50 active serial murderers, owing to the fact that arroba the year multiple homicides have occurred. Now the question arises, who is a serial killer?
A person possessing a specific emotional drive to kill mercilessly is termed as a serial murderer. These murders, killings, manslaughters, or homicides are generally done in a different way that distinguishes one serial murderer from another. The killer often has a sign that they are distinguished with. Serial murderers are kept in the page as being mass- slayers. The only difference being that serial murderers do not naturally kill the way mass murderers/ slayers do, i.e. mass slayers don’t leave breaks in committing the merciless murders. On the other hand, serial murderers tend to have a distinct feature that reflects the fact that they are murderers with a psychotic overdrive (Ellens, 2011).
Jeffrey Dahmer
Nearly 25 years ago, one of America’s most infamous serial murderers, Jeffrey Dahmer, a paedophile, and a cannibal, was confronted, attacked and mercilessly slayed while cleaning the bathroom of a prison. His span of crime ranged from June 18, 1978 till July 19, 1991.
Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial murderer and a sex criminal who brutally raped and then killed 17 men and boys between the years 1978 to 1991. Several of those later homicides consisted of preservation of several body parts of the victims, necrophilia and cannibalism. Though he was initially diagnosed with several mental diseases like borderline personality disorder, a psychotic disorder, and schizotypal personality disorder, Dahmer was found to be legitimately stable at his probation.
He was sentenced for fifteen terms of life custody on February 15, 1992 for the fifteen of the sixteen homicides that he had committed in Wisconsin. Later, he was condemned to a sixteenth term of life custody for an additional slaughter in 1978 in Ohio. Dahmer was crushed to death by Christopher Scarver On November 28th, 1994 at the Columbia Correctional Institution (Martens, 2011).
Jeffery’s move into criminality- early years
It is reported by witnesses that as an infant, Dahmer was deprived of attention and love that a child expects from his parents. It is also reported that his mother was identified as a stressed, covetous, and argumentative lady who often quarrelled with her husband and their neighbours. As Dahmer entered the first grade, his mother .

1. Audience for webinar
The audience for the webinar is divided into three age groups. The school going students are the audience. First audience group is the middle child, the second audience group is early childhood and the third group is early adolescence forth is emerging adults. The webinar content will be highly useful because it will educate the audience about the sexuality. The sexual harassments, teenage pregnancy, and many more issues are associated with it, so there is the necessity for such type of education. The webinar content will be characterized specifically according to each age group. The middle childhood and early adolescence need some specific and limited awareness but the adolescence and emerging adults need the detailed awareness.
2. Intended Focus
The webinar focus is on that audience which doesn’t need the higher consideration of the webinar topic. There is a need to educate immature children, teenagers and adults about sexuality. It’s all about creating awareness. Today the world is modernized. The difference between male and female doesn’t matter. The co-education system created a lot of issues along its benefits. There is need to educate the students including girl and boys so they can avoid all bad activities which can lead them towards destruction. Sexuality is not all about the willingness of two people but it sometimes happened in terms of harassments.
The focus is based on the education of immature younger and teenager students who are living in the global world, studying in co-education. Parents are not advising them about the fact that they should avoid such type of relationships, predict the harassments and prevent themselves for being victimized. So, the major focus is to provide awareness to them so they can prevent all that approaches and secure themselves. The webinar focused the school educational system in which such type of awareness sessions are necessary. It has many benefits and our children can take decisions with complete consideration of good and bad.
3. Research Into Webinar Topic
The webinar topic is “Sexuality education in schools”. In recent past years, there are many issues which are get promoted without any awareness and education about sexuality. Entire families are facing a different kind of issues (Shirai, Tsujimura, Abdelhamed, & Horie, 2018). Some families children faced sexual harassments, some victimized by a rapist, some faced the teenage pregnancy, and many facing the diseases which are prevailing with sexual relationships. Sexuality education is necessary, it can eliminate the fantasy factor in which our teenager is living (Breuner, Mattson, & Health., 2016). Innocent adolescence is not aware that how much it could destroy them. How someone can make them victim without there any type of notice and awareness. In innocence and unawareness lot of children f.

Summary of teaching plan
Title: Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Overview
Sexually Transmitted Diseases are diseases that are transmitted from one person to another during oral, anal and vaginal sexual activities. STDs are very common especially among sexually active teenagers and a number of them don’t have the symptoms making it hard to tell if one has contacted one. STDs are very dangerous to one’s health however, it can be detected when one is tested and majority of them have a cure (Bouchery, Harwood, and Brewer, 2014). STDs are preventable with abstinence and safe sexual practices; one is likely not to contract the disease. Examples of the STDs are: chlamydia, genital warts, gonorrhea, hepatitis B, herpes, HIV and AIDS, Human Papillomavirus, scabies, syphilis and trichomoniais (Stingler, Neusel, and Perry, 2013).
Objectives
1. To help the teenagers understand what STDs are as well as ways one can contract them
2. To teach the teenagers some of the preventive measures of contracting STDs.
3. To educate the teenagers on measures on should take incase exposed to an environment one is likely to contract STDs
4. To help the teenagers differentiate the myths from the facts regarding STDs
Materials
Video clips featuring adults and teenage experts, Graphic power point presentations
STD pamphlets, Writing materials: Pens and Plain papers, Teacher’s laptop, overhead screen
Estimated cost: Overhead screen will be offered by the church, additional materials needed about $45-$80
Directions
The learning sessions was grouped into four different sessions lasting approximately 30 to 45 minutes. In the first session, it was purely teaching session where I addressed all the objectives in a classroom setting and the teenagers were allowed to take notes. Teaching was enhanced with graphic power points to help create a visual understanding of the different concepts put across. The second session on the other hand was purely audio visual where the teenagers were allowed to view different Video clips featuring adults and teenage experts expounding on sexually, transmitted disease. The audio-visual session also addressed all the objectives just as the case was in the classroom set up in session one.
The third session was an open forum where the teenagers were allowed to ask questions, seek clarification on different issues or add more insight on concept learned. This session was an interactive one where all disturbing questions was addressed. The end of this session was marked by satisfactory response to all questions and insight brought forward by both the teacher and the teenagers.
The fourth and final session was an examination setup where each of the participants were given a quick test to test their understanding for the concepts learnt. Those who performed exemplary were awarded certificates and gifts and the whole were issued pa.

Running head: SETTING UP RESEARCH
1 Chapter 6 Methods of Measuring Behavior
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN ABOUT IN THIS CHAPTER:
· • The use of different methods of measuring behavior and collecting data
· • What a test is
· • How different types of tests are designed to assess different types of behavior
· • The use of achievement tests in the behavioral and social sciences
· • The design of multiple-choice items
· • How to do an item analysis
· • The application of attitude scales
· • The difference between Thurstone and Likert attitude scales
In Chapter 5, you got a healthy dose of the theoretical issues that provide the foundation for the science of measurement, why measurement is crucial to the research process, how reliability and validity are defined, and how each of these can be established.
In this chapter, you will begin learning about the application of some of these principles as you read about different methods that can be used to measure behavior, including the ubiquitous test, the questionnaire, the interview, and other techniques.
As you read this chapter, keep several things in mind. Your foremost concern in deciding what method you will use to measure the behavior of interest should be whether the tool you intend to use is a reliable and valid one. This is equally true for the best-designed test and for the most informal-appearing interview. If your test does not “work,” then virtually nothing else will.
Second, the way in which you ask your question will determine the way in which you go about measuring the variables that interest you. If you want to know about how people feel toward a particular issue, then you are talking about attitudinal scales. If you want to know how much information people have about a particular subject, then you are talking about an achievement test or some other measure of knowledge. The focus of a study (such as the effects of unemployment on self-esteem) might be the same, whether you measure attitude or achievement, but what you use to assess your outcome variable depends on the question you ask. You need to decide the intent of your research activity, which in turn reflects your original research question and hypothesis.
Third, really efficient researchers are fully onboard for using whatever method helps them answer the questions that are being asked. This might include a mixed-methods model where one aspect of a research program might include qualitative methods while another might include qualitative methods (see Chapter 10). As research questions and their associated hypotheses become more intricate and complex, the creative side of using a particular research method correctly becomes more important.
Finally, keep in mind that methods vary widely in the time it takes to learn how to use them, in the measurement process itself, and in what you can do with the information once you have collected it. For example, an interview might be appropriate to determine how teachers feel about chang.

NP6. Introduction
NP7. This paper will analyze the question, would removing the protected class designation on 'sex' make a more robust, more competitive workforce, by equalizing the playing the field for men and women. 8. Addressing the question will involve defining and applying moral imagination, moral courage, Dr. Laura's Three Prerequisites for Assigning Moral Credit of Culpability, Utilitarianism, Kantian Ethics, Intersecting Circle's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Model, Strict Liability Theory, Kohlberg's Moral Development Model, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Model, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
NP9. EEOC Laws and Protected Classes
NP10. Protected classes are the groups protected from employment discrimination by law. 11. These groups include men and women based on sex; any group which shares a common race, religion, color, or national origin; people over 40; and people with physical or mental handicaps” 11a. (NARA, 2020, para 36). 12. The designation of a protected class requires employers to abide by the EEOC Laws. 13. The EEOC Laws are “five laws which prohibit discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, physical handicap and mental handicap in any terms, conditions, or privileges of employment” 13a. (NARA, 2020, para 16). 14. The applicable laws were designed to “correct a history of unfavorable treatment of women and minority group members” 14a. (NARA, 2020, para 36). 15. Although men and women cannot be discriminated against based on sex, the protected class of sex was designed to prevent discrimination of women in the workplace. 16. The analysis throughout the paper will focus on this fact, and decide if removing sex as a protected class will make the workforce more competitive.
NP17. Moral Courage and Moral Imagination
NP18. Looking at removing a protected class will involve looking at the question from multiple perspectives, this requires moral imagination. 19. Biasucci, Hernandez, and Prentice, 19a. (2020, para 1) say, "Moral imagination, according to philosopher Mark Johnson, means envisioning the full range of possibilities in a particular situation in order to solve an ethical challenge." 20. One view is that the workforce is handing out jobs to women over men, for fear of discriminating accusations. 21. If sex is no longer a protected class, then companies would be able to select the qualified individual without fear of reprisal. 22. Another way of looking at the issue is from the actual definition of protected classes. 23. Sex is a protected class, meaning that both men and women are technically protected from discrimination. 24. From this viewpoint, companies could be accused by both men and women if they feel they employers actively discriminated against them. 25. .

Combatting Senior Isolation with Volunteerism
Senior isolation is a social issue that many of our senior citizens face today. It is estimated that 40% of our senior population suffers from senior isolation. Senior isolation in the elderly has been linked to an increase in illnesses, mortality, depression, elder abuse and a higher incidence of the elderly needing long term care services. It is one of the largest risks to our aging senior’s health and well-being. Volunteer work can help combat senior isolation and have a positive impact on a senior’s health. Senior citizens make up 15.2 percent of the total population of the United States according to the 2016 census bureau and it is reported that by 2060 the number of senior citizens will double. Senior volunteer programs that promote involvement can assist in combating isolation and the negative health consequences while keeping our seniors healthy and active within their communities.
Senior Corps is an organization that currently engages roughly 220,000 older adults between the ages of 55 and above within America in service to their communities through its Foster Grandparent, Senior companion and RSVP programs according to Nationalservice.gov. Utilizing the strengths and assets of our seniors today not only keeps our seniors from isolation but also benefits the communities in which they live. The primary focus of Senior corps is to utilize the strengths, skills and attributes of seniors 55 and above to help tutor, mentor, care for and volunteer to meet the needs of others within their community while also having mutually positive benefits to the health and wellness of the aging senior population. Senior Corp programs not only improve the lives of those served but also the lives of the senior volunteers. Service learning opportunities within Senior Corps could produce beneficial outcomes for the American communities that Senior Corps volunteers, the partnering universities and the student service learners reside. The collegiate service learning students can play an instrumental role in increasing awareness with marketing strategies including recruitment events and informative meetings to promote participation, and enrollment into the programs. Creating and implementing marketing plans while utilizing their technology skills and social media platforms, collegiate service learners can assist Senior Corps in increasing the number of senior volunteers enrolled within each of the programs. Intergenerational learning can promote valuable relationships and partnerships that help bridge the generation gap. Service learners in intergeneration settings report “positive outcomes related to a better understanding of the older generation, enjoyment of interacting with the elders, appreciation of the life exp.

The American Red Cross is an organization with immeasurable commitment to provision of compassionate care to people who are in need in America. As such, this is their mission and their budget epitomizes this. The largest chunk of the income that is mainly received from grants from governments and organizations as well as donations from organizations is spent on humanitarian activities. For the year 2018, 91.85% of the $0.5 billion that was raised from the aforementioned sources was used in humanitarian activities. These included helping people who needed care in in disasters in the shortest notice, ensuring and maintaining community health especially by being in the frontline to deliver blood to patients who needed it in our health facilities. The organization recognizes the importance of mitigating disasters before they happen and therefore set aside $1,659,000 that was used to keep teams ready to stop a disaster before it happened or minimize injury or loss of life as much as possible. This is in line with the organizations principle of being proactive rather than react to disasters when they happen.
The American Red Cross has a total 12,534 permanent employees spread all over the nation to offer humanitarian help whenever and wherever it is needed (Hutchinson, 2018). These are selfless individuals who are always risking their lives to save others’. The organization therefore aims at giving the employees the best working conditions given the circumstances and making sure that they stay safe as much as possible while delivering help. As such, American Red Cross buys the best equipment and vehicles to help the employees as well as volunteers in humanitarian work to get to sites of disasters in the shortest time possible and safely. This is why the company has invested in top notch ambulances that have lifesaving equipment that may be used by the employees to save lives in an occurrence of a disaster.
As indicated above, funds that are used by the organization to finance its operations as well as management are received from state and federal government, and international organizations as grants or from the public as donations. Often times, the funders wish to know how the funds that they give out the cause of saving human lives through humanitarian assistance is used (Schnupp & Möller 2018). The organization therefore posts its official budget on its official website where it can be accessed by all people. In the last 5 years, the donations have been on the rise and this is a good indicator that the people who fund the organizations are happy about how the money they give to it is being used.
One of the key strengths in the company is the manner in which the employees relate with each other and the organization at large. The organization appreciates the selflessness of the people working there. As such, employee retreats are held.

The paper developed through a systematic review of 285 articles on the topic of servant leadership aimed at comparing servant leadership with other approaches to leadership, the nature of servant leadership and the theoretical basis through which servant leadership developed. As a result, the paper provides a comprehensive overview of servant leadership, its advantages and challenges while also comparing servant leadership to other forms of leadership that individuals use. Subsequently, the paper provides important insights regarding servant leadership, its application compared to other forms of leadership as well as recommendations for future research. This information is crucial in the development of my research paper given that not only does the paper cover and provide important information regarding servant leadership but also because through the systematic review that was used to develop the paper, the authors were able to collect information from many sources increasing not only the validity but also the reliability of the information.

Article I Journal Title: Achieving consumer trust on Twitter via CSR communication
The research seeks to establish means that can be used by companies to relay information on corporate social responsibility on social media platforms particularly twitter in an effective manner. It suggests that the involvement of the consumers and the consumer’s own processing mechanisms have a very vital role in so far as an evaluation of the trustworthiness of the companies is concerned.
The topic explored is very relevant since we have seen a continuous trend where various organizations are becoming more and more under pressure when it comes to communicating organizational policies and organizational positions as pertains to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Every market segment needs to be informed about the organization’s good intentions as well as actions so as to have an impression that the corporation is trustworthy. This implies that the market demand that their corporations engage them through dialogue. Notably, the existing academic literature does not have empirical research that seeks to examine impact of asymmetric versus symmetric communication strategies to the consumers.
Research Questions
i. Which strategies have corporations used in communication with their stakeholders about social corporate responsibility initiatives?
ii. Which of the two communication strategies, asymmetric communication and symmetric communication is more effective?
iii. What is the role of stakeholder’s personal information processing mechanisms when it comes to evaluation of trustworthiness of corporations?
Hypothesis
The first hypothesis (H1) states: Asymmetric vs. symmetric CSR communication strategies will have differing impacts on consumer trust in the organization. The second hypothesis (H2) states: Consumer trust is higher among the consumers with high involvement (those being a “green” consumer in symmetric communication.
Considering the hypotheses, it clearly emerges that they are closely linked to the study questions. The formulated questions point into integrated communication approach as used in organizations with particular attention being paid to the relevance of the communication approached to corporate social responsibility. They further go on to address and draw parallels between innovative approaches such as symmetric and asymmetric communication techniques and their impacts on the stakeholders. The above are further captured in the hypotheses especially when we look at the consumer concerns about an organization’s initiatives on social corporate responsibility. For instance, scepticism green consumers have on CSR been capture by H2. Generally, green consumers are very much conscious about the environmental impacts of their purchase as we.

Self-Injurious Behavior
For this final assignment a research of self-injurious behavior has been conducted. Self-injurious behavior, also known as SIB, is described an instance of behavior that results in physical injury to a person’s own body. SIB includes head banging, using objects to cut or puncture self, pinching self, consuming inedible substances, vomiting, pulling own hair, sucking, biting, scratching body parts and use of drugs, among others (Yang, 2003). SIB, is usually displayed by individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. SIB can result in serious injuries and in severe cases even death. According to Yang (2003), the treatment of SIB has become one of the most serious issues for clinicians and other professionals due to the injury, risk, prevalence, and cost involved.
Article 1
Overview
The first article discussed is "Combination of extinction and protective measures in the treatment of severely self-injurious behavior" by Lizen Yang from Behavioral interventions journal. Yang explores and discusses the advantages of using extinction in conjunction with the non-intrusive protective measures to treat SIB. In the study, extinction in combination with non-intrusive protective measures was selected as the intervention strategy to reduce SIB.
Subjects and setting
The study was conducted on two adolescent females with profound mental retardation and physical disabilities at a state facility. Both subjects exhibited self-injurious behavior (SIB) and had been wearing restrains mechanisms for more than two years to prevent injuries. The treatment sessions were conducted in the morning for one of the subjects and in the afternoon for the other subject in a multipurpose 12’ x 13’room in their residential building. The room contained a table, a desk, and three chairs. Fingernail clippers, a pair of scissors, and a bottle of white petroleum jelly were used, since the target behavior for both subjects was scratching. There was a radio playing soft music at a moderate volume during sessions. There also were several audio and visual activity materials available and placed on the table within the participants’ reach at all times during treatment. During sessions, only the therapist and the participant were in the room.
Design and results
Event recording was used to collect data during each 30 minute treatment session. Two hand held counters were used to record the target behavior. In order to constantly analyze data, and monitor the behavior, as well as avoiding possible medical concerns, each treatment session was divided into three 10 minute intervals. Initially a within-subject reversal design was in which baseline (A) and treatment (B) were alternated in an ABAB sequence, but due to frequent and severe self-injuries and for safety reas.

Abstract
The concept of trusted computing has been in existence for a very long time. It has had an influence on security systems and solutions. In this paper, I will explain the history of TCB. Ways to implement trusted base computing. I will also explain some of the barriers and how to bypass them.
Introduction
The trusted computing base contains hardware, firmware and software that are essential in establishing as well as maintaining security. Moreover, it also includes an operating system with all specific system hardware, in-built security control, software and network hardware, (Ranganathan, 2017). When designing a trusted computing base provision such as access control, giving privileges, user authentication support, authorization of particular processes or systems, backing up information and protection against viruses and malware. It is the responsibility of a trusted computing base to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of information. It monitors the input and output operations.
History
In December 1985, the United States Department of Defense put out the trusted computing system evaluating criteria that well-defined TCB. TCB can be understood when it performs as a centralized, trusted entity, (Scott-Nash, et al., 2016). The structures that get the uppermost level security accredited and certification have a centralized system design. The TCSEC accepted the view of peer trusted nodes describing them as members of the NTCB which protects the network system including the firmware, software and hardware. This combination is responsible for enforcing a security policy.
How is the model implemented?
TCB contains four security mechanisms, including authentication and identification, auditing, labelling and security policy. In order to understand how TCB is implemented and work. Let’s take the example of a bank—one of the most trusted icons in society today. When we make deposits, the money is recorded and safeguarded. It will be available when we want it back. We hardly consider the security mechanism in the back since we trust the banking system. All the mechanisms of TCB are in place. Before withdrawing money from the account, one is required to identify and authenticate themselves to the teller with the account number and signature. There is also discretionary access control that is who is authorized to withdraw money from the account. There are very few clerical problems since all the transactions that take place are audited. In development, the environment has to enforce the security model. Other concepts that are used when developing TCB include memory protection and handle, (Noorman, et al., 2019). This falls under the NIST requirement for assurance. When implementing TCB, it is essential to ensure that the application meets the basic requirements of NIST.

Abstract
Many organizations and enterprises have adopted the practice of storage of data in the cloud as it is fast, efficient and reliable. It has eliminated the challenge of loss of data and made it easier to retrieve data. Enterprises are therefore able to thrive in the current era where clients require their needs to be met quickly and in their desired timing. However it is faced with the challenge of security, many do not understand their responsibility of making sure that the data is secure. The storage of data in the clouds has decentralized the IT department because in most cases they are not in control of the data due to the ease of access to the various cloud service providers, different departments within an enterprise which have different service providers. The security mechanisms are not comprehensive to cater to all the service providers. Requiring one to use multiple security measures. Hence there exist several loopholes that can be exploited by criminals impairing the steady operations of the victims. Imposing security on the cloud requires that a mechanism is put in place to not only protect but also detect the threats. This will help in planning how to counter react to any possible threat. It does also ensure that there is a study of the trends of such crimes.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The lack of an adolescent’s shelter to cater for lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transsexual [LGBT] adolescents has become an
underpinning problem which direly needs to be addressed with
the development of a shelter facility for these group. The shelter
also ought to incorporate programs that facilitate the
rehabilitation of these adolescents in the center and to mentor
them on the importance of education and career development.
This kind of project is dedicated to efforts that reduce social
inequality through demonstrable projects. There are various
factors that make this project a top priority, including the target
group being adolescents aged between thirteen and eighteen
years old, besides being a minority adolescents group that can
reform and complete their education and go to become more
productive in the society.
Moreover, housing is a basic human need and also a place one
can rest to reminisce on their personal life. Cochran, Stewart,
Ginzler, and Cauce (2012) argue that homeless bisexual,
lesbian, gay, transsexual, besides questioning adolescents’ aged
between thirteen and eighteen years old, face the lack of
housing access either because they are kicked out of their
parental homes, or they cannot comprehend the criticism by
their relatives and caregivers for their sexual orientation.
Following Durso and Gates (2012) the vulnerability of these
adolescents is further worsened as they are presented to brutal
street situations whereby they are high possibilities of being
assaulted physically, victimized, sexually assaulted, mugged,
and at worse being murdered. Besides, the freedom they have on
the streets has a high inclination towards compelling them to
indulge in other unsafe criminal activities, including, drug
abuse, robbery, and prostitution.
Keuroghlian, Shtasel, and Bassuk (2014) emphasize that by
bypassing such a conspicuous feature within the social work
system core principles, besides the strengths and needs of these
adolescents are far from being satisfactorily addressed.
Moreover, Tyler, Whitbeck, Hoyt, and Cauce (2004) pinpoint
3. that these adolescents represent characters from all different
genders and ethnicities. Hence, those who come from an ethnic
minority are even at a higher risk of being exposed to numerous
social ills, since they endeavor to even find acceptance within
their individual communities. These adolescents have twenty-
five percent suicide attempt rate as they encounter extra
pressures, barriers, and hurdles towards understanding and
acceptance. As a consequence, the project will be a timely one
towards addressing the problems being experienced by these
transgender adolescents.
Goals:
Goal #1:
A center that meets LGBT various needs and that uses a
collaborative model based on the investment and input from
multiple key stakeholders who provide different services needed
by these adolescents such as recreational, medical, and
education.
Goal #2:
Supporting mentors and the community to become
knowledgeable about LGBT adolescents social isolation and
stigmatization as well as how to support them in a professional
manner.
Goal#3:
An effective and successful LGBT adolescent’s center that has
the capability of reaching the maximum number of LGBT
adolescents with the maximum impact, developed out of the
needs identified by these adolescents themselves
Objectives:
Objective 1:
To develop and nurture an LGBTadolescent’s shelter that meets
various needs, including a safe space to access healthcare and
other social services.
Objective 2:
Training LGBT adolescents mentors on how to identify and
describe the concerns and issues of these adolescents and the
community.
4. Objective 3:
To provide a sustainable and stable LGBT adolescent's center,
besides provide emotional outlets opportunities, and champion's
personal and professional development.
Evaluation Criteria:
Evaluation Criteria 1:
· A developed and equipped LGBTadolescent’s shelter
· The degree to which the shelter meets various needs including
a safe space to access healthcare and other social services
Evaluation Criteria 2:
· The number of trained LGBT adolescents mentors
· Percentage of LGBT adolescents mentors equipped with
techniques of identifying and describing the concerns and issues
of these adolescents and the community
Evaluation Criteria 3:
· The degree to which the LGBT adolescent's center is
sustainable and stable
· Percentage of emotional outlets opportunities provided
· Percentage of personal and professional development
opportunities created.

Enterprises and SMBʼs
generally share similar
security needs with the

Enterprises bring a larger

While hackers are awaiting
an opportunity,
noncompliance and the
impacts caused by this is
an unacceptable situation.
Some industries have more
risk due to the sensitive
information they deal with,
and thus require tighter
security regulations.
Hence organizations tailor
their security policies and
mandates employees to
follow the same.
Unauthorized access to
data is very restricted in
case of healthcare
organizations, and usually
employees are expected to
follow the policy of not
accessing organizational
data even though they
were former users to the
application. A Colorado
hospital has been fined
with $111,400, since they
have failed to terminate the
10. employeesʼ access to a
web-based scheduling
calendar. This
unauthorized access
resulted in disclosure of
557 patientsʼ ePHI. A

continued to have remote
access to a web-based

organization. The
employee seemed to have
accessed the calendar on

PMSC had to pay the fine

Small and medium-sized
businesses (SMBs) and
enterprise-sized
businesses have
overlapping needs as well
as individual needs. From
the hacker perspective,
data is data, no matter
where they get it so SMBs
are just as likely to be
targeted as enterprise
organizations. However,
SMBs typically have
smaller budgets and less
personnel, making them an
easier target. Because of
these limitations, SMB
security needs to be
approached more
strategically thank with
12. Enterprise security.
One item that needs to be
approached differently for
SMBs than enterprises is
how the company
approaches security in the
event of an attack. While
enterprise organizations
have the budget and
resources to have a
reactionary approach to
attacks, SMBs donʼt have
the luxury of employing a
security operations center
(SOC) to react to attacks.
Instead, SMBs should
focus on a proactive
approach to attacks, “one
that uses a layered
security strategy,
detecting suspicious
activity at each step of the
breach ‘process ,̓ and
putting a stop to a
potential breach as early in
that process as is
possible” (Amigorena,
2018). Some examples of
how to implement this
approach are to ensure all
software and operating
systems remain updated to
protect against
13. vulnerabilities, installing
anti-virus and anti-
malware protection,
monitor logins and network
activity, and conduct
regular audits of data use.
SMBs should also
approach their security
staff differently from
enterprise organizations.
Enterprises have
dedicated IT teams with
multiple people who are
able to handle security
responsibilities as well as
standard IT needs. SMBs
typically donʼt have the
staff to approach security
in this manner. According
to Brooks of Netwrix, SMB
IT teams “have to ensure
continuous operation,
patch the system, support
users, repair hardware,
develop security policies
and make sure everyone is
following them, educate
other employees, deal with
compliance auditors,
perform backup regularly,
fight against ransomware
14. and viruses, and much
more” (Brooks, 2017). With
an IT staff of two to three
people, it is likely that their
consistent daily routine of
handling every IT matter
will result in mistakes or
potential threats being
missed. Because of this
recommends, hiring at
least one employee whoʼs
sole focus is security will
ensure that there is always
someone focusing on the
SMBs security with few
distractions. Alternatively,
hiring a managed security
service provider (MSSP) to
handle security is another
option for SMBs. By hiring
an MSSP, SMBs can get
corporate-level security
from a team of experts that
they otherwise wouldnʼt be
able to get in-house due to
budget limitations.

Abstract:
My research will explore the issue of homelessness and
communal rejection among youths.
As per many writers, it is apparent that social exclusion is a
wide construct and that requires overlook of deprivation as well
as marginalization. The methodological decision that I will
employ in the study indicates my acknowledgment of youth’s
homeless and my obligation to socially just and fairness. In
order to have a deeper insight into the issue of youth’s
homelessness and marginalization, the study will treat homeless
youths as collaborators who will reveal their experiences as
homeless individuals.
The main objective of the study is to uncover the main micro-
sociological as well as macro-sociological suggestions that the
experiences of homelessness have on youths. To achieve the
objective, the study will examine this approach via the usage of
qualitative approaches that aid in unmasking the experiences of
homeless youths. In this line, I will seek to place who are
participating in my study as the producers of understanding.
This will be in line with my trust that every participant is taken
as equally able giving argumentative materials to help build on
scientific knowledge. The method of collecting data will be
completed via center groups in which the youths under my
guidelines will narrate their experience as homeless individuals
(Waldorf, 2001).
Having worked with homeless people for many years, I
developed a desire for social justice and equality. To have a
clear scope of the issue, I figured it is reasonable to conduct a
study to get relevant information from homeless youths from the
17. general population. As I gather information, it will be easier to
gain the help local organization. Simply, I hope to conduct a
meaningful study that will motivate me to be more involved in
voluntary works with this group.
To cater for logistics, the study will require $6000

The reasons for this grant funding request are:
As per many writers, there has been rampant homelessness
among the youths (Wright, 2007). The core aim of the study is
to reveal underlying issues in regard to youth homelessness. In
addition, the study will voice the voices of homeless youths.
Based on the setting of the study, homelessness youths who
have had experiences in the towns of Tri-Cities will provide
relevant information about the subject. In response, the
information gathered will act as reparation to the youths.

Introduction
The issue of homelessness among young people has been
challenged especially with the increasing cost of housing. The
problem is becoming more worse when young people are in
schools and affect their educational programs. Homelessness
stresses young people so much because after carrying out their
activities during the day, they will not find somewhere to rest at
night. There are many challenges which are faced by homeless
youths. Some of them feel that they are hopeless and
despondent and sometimes can turn to the use of drugs and
alcohol. Abuse of drugs contributes to poor interaction with the
department of law enforcement hence interruption of the success
of the students. Drug abuse is linked to other criminal activities
because these young people will have to look for ways of
getting money to buy drugs. It also increases chances of sexual
harassment and transmission of diseases (Sieving et al, 2017).
Most people who cannot afford shelter, it will be difficult for
them to afford food. They will have poor health and nutrition.
The project will be focusing on Tri-Cities which are not an
exception of homelessness problems. A study which was done in
Tri-city showed that 34 percent of the population was living
with their families or friends. The chances of these friends or
families kicking them out are high since they are termed as a
burden to them. Therefore, the project proposal will look at the
issue of the homeless and how it can be addressed to build a
stable future for youths. The project will ensure that homeless
youths are provided with an integrated place where they can
connect to the resource and services. The project wills also
ensuring that there is a resource center which is located at each
of the three cities that is Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco. The
20. resource centers will help in identifying, tracking and reporting
cases of homeless among youths.
Need statement
The purpose of the project is to come up with strategies to
address homeless among youths in Tri-cities. Youths are faced
with housing challenges because most of them do not have
adequate finances to cater for their school fees, food, and
accommodation. Some are living with their friends and families
while others are living in the streets. Live is not easy when one
is homeless because he or she is hopeless about the future and
things which might happen in life (Utržan et al, 2017).
Homeless youths suffer from depression and they are more
likely to engage in criminal behaviors. Therefore, the research
will raise awareness on the issue of homelessness among
youths. It will lead to the establishment of centers which will be
reliable for identifying and tracking issues of homeless among
youths. Creation of awareness of homelessness among youths
will assist in understanding the challenges which they are
facing. Homeless youths will be able to give their response to
the problems because they are the one who is facing the
challenges. Homeless youths need mainstreaming of the
services which will enable has their long term success in the
future. Homeless youths need to be supported by ensuring that
they continue with their studies and they secure good jobs
which they can support themselves.
Goals and objectives
To introduce targeted prevention measures which assist in
supporting youths who experience the problem of homelessness.
This includes diversion of shelter so that all the youths who are
living in the streets have shelter. When youths have housing, it
will be easy to address other problems which are facing
homelessness youths. A stable housing makes the mind to be
stable and it becomes easy to look for a job which will sustain
other needs.
To ensure that there is access to education, health services,
employment, and other services. Recurrent of homelessness can
21. result when education, education, and employment of the young
people are not checked. Stability of a person forms around the
access of these services and without them it becomes difficult to
address them (Lou et al, 2018). Healthcare services are
essential for homeless youths so that they treated from the
diseases they are suffering from. Some of them suffer from
different diseases due to exposure to poor nutrition and sexual
abuse. They need proper assessment and diagnosis so that their
health problems are well addressed. Due to homeless, some of
the youths could not continue with their education and the
project will create awareness on the areas where such kind of
youths can be assisted.
To establish a resource center that will be identifying,
tracking and reporting issues of homelessness among youths.
The resource center will handle issues related to youth
homelessness and ensure that that they find a safe place to stay.
After identification and tracking of the issues, homeless youths
will be connected with their families or people who can assist
them. Social connectedness is very important because it assists
in preventing depression and lowliness. Some of the youths
who are experiencing homelessness live in the street and they
do not know any member of their families. Connecting homeless
youths with their families restore joy to them and ensure that
they live a good life. Their families will assist them and ensure
that they have gone back to their lives.
Methodology and evaluation plans
The study will be carried out in Tri-cities that are
Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco. The population for the will be
chosen randomly from the three cities and every homeless youth
will have an equal chance of participating. The methods that
will be used in the study ensure that there is free interaction
with the homelessness youths so that their problems can be
adequately addressed. The research will be mainly focusing on
the youths in Tri-Cities who have experienced homelessness.
The study will take six months for the three cities and it will
ensure that researchers have quality time to collect all important
22. information which is required to address the issues.
The study will employ a participatory method which will
be employed in collecting data on the challenges which are
faced by homelessness youths. They will give their ideal
experience on the state of homelessness and how it is associated
with other problems which end up affecting their lives.
Homeless youths who will participate through narrating their
experience will be chosen randomly. The group will be chosen
from those who have volunteered to participate. In participatory
approach focused group discussion will be used. Focused group
discussion will involve gathering a group of the homelessness
youths in each of the city. The topic of discussion will be the
problem of social exclusion from the families and how it has
contributed to the homeless state (Schwan et al, 2018). Social
exclusion, in this case, will aim at understanding the
deprivation and marginalization of the young people. Social
exclusion of the youths has deprived them education because
there is no support from the family members. The relationship
between social exclusion and education will be done by
analyzing how the two concepts affect each other. Through
drawing the analysis, one will be able to understand areas which
need to address so that social exclusion does not take place and
many of the young people remain united to their families.
In the focused discussion, homelessness youths will
explain the best response which they think should be taken to
address the issue. They will be able to give the views and
options on the best solutions which they think should be
incorporated by the government, private sectors and nonprofit
organizations to end homelessness among youths. Given the
opportunity to discuss it will be easy to understand how they
think the problem should be handled and how the government
has articulated strategies to deal with the matter. The study will
collaborate with the local authority and chiefs to ensure that
young people who are facing homeless problems will be able to
identify.
In the focused discussion, expertise will educate the
23. homeless youths on ways of handling the hard situation rather
than becoming homeless and being unable to cater to personal
needs. The project will also collaborate with the healthcare
facilities so that homeless youths who have urgent health needs
are immediately attended. Youths will know that when they
have problems in their lives they can be solved through sharing
their problems rather than being hopeless in life. There are
people and organizations that will be willing to assists and they
should not suffer in the street. Students who have become
homeless and unable to pay their schools fees will be
enlightened on where they can seek help when things are hard
for them (Sutherland, 2016). The study will also use an
interview with the volunteers who have worked with the
homeless youths and the challenges they face while addressing
their issues. The collaboration will include volunteer from all
cities and an interview will be conducted with them. These
volunteers know well the strategies which can easily solve the
issues since they have been working with the homeless youths.
Some of the members of the research team are people who were
helped after becoming homeless for quite some time and they
understand the problems very well. This will make interaction
with homelessness youths very easy. In data collection from
those who had experienced the state of homelessness and they
have been assisted will share their experience with
homelessness currently so that they feel free to share their
stories as well. Data collection will also entail encouraging
them to move to stable housing by seeking help from relevant
people.
The data will also be collected from secondary sources
such as journal and books. There are other researchers who have
done a study on homeless among youths in Tri-cities and this
study will ensure that the information is well captured. The
information will be keenly reviewed to ensure that information
on the past state of homelessness is captured. It will form a
basis for the recommendation and strategies which should be
taken to address the issues of homelessness in the Tri-cities. If
24. the number of homelessness youths is increasing, then the
strategies to solve the issues will have to be changed. The
questionnaire will be also used in collecting data on the age of
homelessness youths. It will include factors which contributed
to them being homeless and the duration which have stayed in
the condition of the homeless. It will also include other
personal questions on whether they are sexually active and how
do they get the partners of engaging in sexual activities. The
names of those involved in answering questionnaires will not be
revealed and a high level of confidentiality will be maintained.
The data will be also collected on how frequently they use
condoms during their sexual intercourse. The aim of this will be
assessing their probability of contracting diseases especially
sexually transmitted diseases. The questionnaires will also
inquire how many times they have been sexually abused or
harassed. It will also inquire on whether they reported the case
to the police and the actions which were taken if they reported
to the police. Understanding the cases of sexual abuse and
harassment among homelessness youths in Tri-Cities will assist
in knowing the safety of the homeless youths and this will
include both females and males. The questionnaire will also
entail details on whether the homeless youths have whereabouts
of their family members especially those living in the streets
and whether they wish to be reunited with their families. The
research method that will be used in the study such as
interview, questionnaires and focused group discussion will
include all the participants who had been selected randomly.
Budget, budget narrative, and sustainability plan
It includes all the cost which will be incurred in carrying the
whole project and ensuring that adequate data has been
gathered. The money will be used for the establishment of the
new centers that will be used in identification, tracking and
reporting on the issues of homelessness among youths. The
budget includes cost for researchers, equipment which will be
used in the process of data collection and construction of the
buildings. The total that will be incurred in the whole project is
25. $ 4,012,938 and the amount is expected to cover the whole
process in the Tri-Cities. The costs of consultation for the
whole project $ 2,750. The consultation will be done in the
three cities and it will involve all the relevant officials in the
cities (Robinson, 2016). The total amount which will be
required for the contracts is $ 3, 456,000. The contract cost for
building new houses for the homeless in the Tri-Cities will
include everything that is needed in the construction of the new
buildings as well as renovating the old ones. This includes
buying the materials which will be used, paying the contractors
and the labor that will be used in the process. The cost for
elevators, drainage system from the building areas, kitchenware,
painting, and water piping. The cost traveling will be $10, 000
in the course of the whole project and there will be $ 883 that
will be incurred for the travel fuels.
Some of the equipment which will be purchased to be used
in the Tri-Cities are safety equipment that will be utilized by
the staffs. Safety is very important for the workers and needs to
be given key consideration. It will also entail safety of the
researchers who will be attending the street homeless youths.
Computers, laptops, desktops, printers will be also be purchased
to be used in the office of the resources centers for reporting
homelessness issues related to youths. The cost will also be
$1000 and the expenses for the supply will be $3, 500. The
supplies for these items include printing papers, stationery,
files, and printers. Other expenses will include electric bills,
equipment that is used in the first aid, insurances and this will
be totaling $ 9, 000. Another cost will be incurred in the
payment of the staffs and researchers. There will be a project
manager who will ensure that all activities run accordingly in
the organization. The project will also be evaluated after it has
been completed and project evaluator will be paid for checking
whether the project has been completed according to the
standards and to the terms and conditions. The project director
will ensure that all activities during the project period are
carried out very well. The project coordinator will be paid
26. $9,822, clinic coordinator $7, 124 who will ensure that the
safety issues and health matters of the homeless youths in the
Tri-Cities have been well covered. Project evaluator will also
be paid $ 7,124 while the secretary will be paid $ 6, 978. They
will also be enumerated for sitting allowance when they will be
planning activities of the project. The project will take six
months and the planned budget will cover all those activities.

The homelessness has been a serious problem facing the general
population because of the high cost of housing throughout the
country. The problem is worse when youths are involved when
they are still in school. It makes studying problematic because
of the stress involved in carrying the personal effects the whole
day and finding the spot to spend during the night. For the
future of this country, there is a need to find a stable home for
such youths so that they can build their future along with the
31. future of this nation more securely. The budget below includes
all that is needed to build homes and renovate the available ones
to create enough rooms for all the youths in this state. All shall
be required for this project to be completed from personnel to
the numerous equipment and machinery. The budget below
shows how the project is broken down (Von, 2016).
The total budget for the whole project that will involve the
construction of building from the ground and renovation of the
old ones is $4,012,938. This amount is expected to cover a total
of 25 sites corresponding to the tertiary institutions in this state
and shall be broken down as explained below. The leading
members of the project are the director, project coordinator,
secretary, academic coordinator, clinic coordinator, and project
evaluator. Most people are supposed to work full time because
the project is large and demanding.
Salaries for the people coordinating the whole process is
significantly large because of their qualifications and skills
which was a requirement for transparency, efficiency, and
competence that were needed to accomplish the project.
Among those working full time are project director, clinic
coordinator, project evaluator and project secretary who will be
paid $ 9,822, $ 7,587, $ 7,124 and $ 6978 respectively. Per
hour, each will be paid $ 61.4, $ 47.42, $ 44.52, and $43.61
according to the minimum wage requirement in their respective
job group. Each one of them will be working a maximum of 40
hours in a week, and all of them will be reporting to the project
director. The whole project will take a whole year to complete
the above-mentioned salaries, and their benefits are monthly for
the whole year. In one month, salaries will be totaling to $ 41,
410 and the benefits will be $ 2,074 which sum up to $ 43, 474.
In a year this will be $ 521,688. Project coordinator and
academic coordinator will be working part-time since they are
the employees of one of the tertiary institutions in the country
where they will still be serving for the most part of their time.
The cost of consultation $ 2,750 for the whole year. It is
not possible to break it down into weeks since consultation will
32. be done once for every site that shall be open where about 25
sites are expected to open in the whole state that corresponds to
the number of tertiary institutions in this country.
For contracts, the whole amount needed is $ 3,456, 000 which
include all the subcontractors such those who will install
lighting and elevator, ventilation and air condition, drainage,
and water piping, doors, and kitchenware, painting, among
many others. Travel will cost around $ 10,000 for the whole
year where each month $ 833 will be spent on fuel for traveling
from one site to another attending meeting in the many sites.
Itemized equipment includes site safety equipment for staff,
office furniture, printers, and desktops in the office that will
cost around $ 10,000 the whole year. Supplies will only cost $
3500 for the whole year. Supplies will include printing papers,
ink for printers, files, and stationery for the whole year. Other
expenses are the insurance, electric bill, water bill, and first aid
equipment. They will cost approximately $ 9, 000 for the whole
year (Von, 2016).

Part one
The description of the grant to be used in this paper
includes the promotion and fostering of community partnerships
to reduce homelessness in various communities. In essence, the
project is intended to engage both provincial and territorial
government levels to join the effort of aligning homelessness
37. investments and priorities with the ultimate goals and objectives
to prevent and reduce the aspect of homelessness especially in
many youths (Forchuk, 2018). To elaborate, the grant is a
unique program based on community affairs with the ultimate
goals of eliminating if not reducing homelessness issues within
various communities. Moreover, the project is aimed to
accomplish this by encouraging funders to directly provide their
support and funds to about sixty designated communities across
all territories and provinces that are possible to reach. The most
appropriate hyperlink for identifying RFP is:
https://raikesfoundation.org/our-grants
One of the significant factors that make this grant to be
worth and for one to gain the confidant of pursuing it is the fact
that it has been witnessed working for other countries. For
instance, the grant was given just this year to the Legal Counsel
for Youth to improve on the well-being of young people by
advancing their legal rights. Also, The funds were well utilized
by focusing them on, especially youth and young adults of age
fifteen to twenty-eight. Based on that, it is a potential grant that
I believe if well managed it is worth to take the risk as it
guarantees the reduction of homelessness.
For evaluation purposes, several questions were identified
to assess whether the grant was aligned with the objectives and
goals of eliminating or reducing the aspect homelessness in
various communities within the country. Furthermore, there
were designed questions that aimed at assessing the progress of
the program in its implementation including coordination,
communication, reporting, adherence to housing first principles,
monitoring as well as an assessment of early outcomes of the
grant.
In accomplishing all the necessary criteria that were required by
the project, I utilized Bing as my search engine for the task.
The goals and objectives of the selected funding agency
are to ensure that it provides all the necessary resources that
can enable the non-profitable organizations with its purposes of
fulfilling the intended impact towards the communities
38. concerned. Besides, the agency is aimed at addressing the
essential issues relating to homelessness of especially youths
and young adults within different communities.
The primary reason for selecting the RFP is accompanied
by the fact that community-based programs tend to be more
reliable and effective when it comes to dealing with issues
affecting people in societies. In essence, it is much easier to
identify such problems through community initiatives as they
tend to understand which issues affect them and the core roots
or foundation of the issues. Also, since the issues are
community-based, the people living in such communities have
experiences in regards to how they face the problems and how
they tend to reduce the issues by the limited resources available
for them (Belone, 2016). As such, I select the community-based
program because homelessness is an issue that can be explained
by the community itself and the people living in such
communities knows why many youths and young adults find
themselves on the streets without a place they can refer to as
home. Also, they see the foundation of the issue and how well
they can utilize the funds provided by the funders to reduce and
eliminate the aspect of homelessness within their respective
communities.
Part two
The project Intend to choose is the Homelessness
Partnering Strategy which is a unique program that aims at
working with various communities. The primary goal of
partnering with community-based initiatives is to attempt on
eradicating homelessness situations, especially for youths and
young adults. Substantially, there has been a significant
increase in youths and young adults with no place to call home.
As such, I intend to propose an effective and efficient way that
can help to reduce the number of people without shelter in
various communities and for a long term, completely eradicate
the issue from all communities across the nation.
The significance of this grant is that at the end of its
implementation, all youths and young adults without homes will
39. be provided with a shelter they can refer to as their homes. On
the other hand, the innovative thing about the grant is that it
tends to include the community as its major partnership.
As I toured different communities within our country, I
realized that since I was a little child, the number of youths and
young adults who tend to sleep across the streets have
drastically increased to a significant amount. Therefore, I saw
that there was a need to give the matter attention since the
conditioned could even be worse if not attended to. For this
reason, I think that my project should be considered and the
funders should fund it because I have no adequate resources to
implement it.
The concerned project is better since unlike many projects
with similar goals and objectives, the Homelessness Partnering
Strategy is a program or project that aims at promoting and
fostering community to work together with our organizations in
identifying the issues that typically results to homelessness and
which ways are effective in dealing and eliminating them.

Methodology and Evaluation Plan
The methodology is one of the most important sections in the
grant. This particular section is concerned with addressing how
the project will be carried out. Over the past few t years,
evaluation plans have become increasingly important documents
for prospective funders. Competition for grants is very intense,
and therefore funders must feel confident that finances will be
well spent and that projects can be evaluated appropriately. This
particular document also assures the organization that the time
and effort put into a project proves that the objectives are
attained. This paper seeks to outline methodology and
evaluation plan for a project aimed at the issue of homelessness
among the youth living in Tri-Cities.
Methodology
Program description
The program seeks to come up with various strategies that will
effectively address homeless among youths in Tri-cities that are
Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco. Youths are facing a lot of
housing challenges because most of them do not have adequate
finances to cater for their needs such as school fees, food, and
accommodation. The program will recommend some targeted
41. prevention measures which will assist in supporting youth who
experience the challenge of homelessness. This particular
program will also ensure youth get access to education, health
services, employment, and other services. This is because
homelessness has hindered youth from accessing these
important services. Finally, the proposed program will establish
a resource center that will be used in identifying, tracking and
reporting issues of homelessness among youths. This particular
resource center will be handling issues related to youth
homelessness and suggest a solution to the problem.
Research design
The study will be based on a cross sectional correlation and
survey designs. Qualitative approach will also be used. The
qualitative approach will be used in that it gives precise and
testable expression to qualitative ideas. The study is cross
sectional because it will be carried out across participants over
a short period of time. Survey design is preferred because it will
allow the researcher to get data from many respondents. These
methods that will be used in the study will ensure that there is
free interaction between the researcher and the homeless youth
so that their challenges can be adequately addressed.

The researcher’s focus will be on the youth who have
experienced homelessness in Tri-Cities. The population for the
study will be chosen randomly from the three cities and every
homeless youth will have an equal chance of participating.
However, due to constraints such as time and resources, the
researcher will find a convenient sample.
Study validity and reliability
In order to ensure validity, the researcher will mostly use
his/her expertise with regard to the homeless youth. Multiple
methods of collecting data will be used in order to enhance
reliability.
Assumptions and limitations
The key assumption is that there will be minimal errors and the
collected data will be very accurate. The major anticipated
42. limitations are finance constraints and time constraints.
However, these limitations will be addressed through adequate
funding and scheduling adequate time to conduct the research.
Timeline
Due to the nature of the study, the timeline for carrying out the
research will be a minimum of two months. But the entire
program activities will be undertaken for a period of maximum
of ten months.
Analysis
The data which will have been obtained will be analyzed using
various analysis techniques such as descriptive statistics and
Pearson correlation.
Non-personnel resources
There will be some facilities, supplies and equipment that will
be required. They include writing materials, gadgets, computers
etc.
Personnel resources
There are a number of personnel who will be assigned some
tasks to undertake. They include Project Director, Project
Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, Academic Coordinator,
Project Evaluator and Project Secretary.
Management plan (Work plan)
The project director will ensure that all activities of the project
are undertaken. There will be project team members who will be
assigned some specific tasks. The project team members will be
required to complete their tasks within a period of three months.
The project will be managed by the overall project director. The
head of each project team will be answerable directly to the
project director.
The Evaluation Plan
Description of the specific criteria that will measure the success
of the project
It is important to measure the success of a project once it is
completed. This will give stakeholders an opportunity to assess
the effectiveness of the project. The first criterion will be used
is the scope. This will assist in determining whether the project
43. achieved its objectives within the given framework. The second
criterion is the schedule. This will help in assessing whether the
project was able to hit its milestones on time and whether the
project was delivered on time. The third criterion is the budget.
This criterion evaluates whether the project was managed to be
delivered within the budget which had been formulated. Another
success criterion is team satisfaction. The project team that is
satisfied is an indicator of success of the project. The final
criterion that will be used to measure success is the quality of
output It is important to track quality and make changes where
necessary.
Explanation of data that will be collected
The data that will be collected will be pertaining to the
activities that were undertaken. The data on the specific time it
took to complete each project activity will also be collected.
The data on the amount of money that was spent will also have
to be collected. The data on the quality of output will also have
to be collected.
Explanation of the data collection plans at the beginning, mid-
program, and final evaluation
The data which will be collected at the beginning will be
obtained from the project coordinator. He/she will indicate how
the program was rolled out and state any challenges
encountered. The data which will be collected at the mid of the
program will be obtained from the heads of respective project
teams and it will be pertaining to the progress of respective
project activities. The data which will be collected at the end of
the project will be obtained from the project director. This data
will indicate whether the project was able to meet its targets.
Evaluation instruments that will be used and an explanation of
why these instruments were selected
Two evaluation instruments will be used. The first one is the
value of outcomes/deliverables. The final outcome of the
project is supposed to have met its initial objectives. The value
of outcome will be low if some of the goals and objectives of
the project are not met. The second evaluation instrument is the
44. stakeholder satisfaction. If the project stakeholders are
interviewed and they state that they are satisfied with the
deliverables of the project, then that particular project will be
deemed to be successful.
Plans for writing the periodic reports to keep the funder updated
The project secretary will be tasked with documenting reports.
He/she should be in a position to generate quarterly reports.
These particular reports will be presented to all stakeholders
including the funder.
