Quantitative Designs
Provide a brief introduction to your paper here. The title
serves as your introductory heading no need for a heading titled
“Introduction.”
Two Designs
Select two peer reviewed journal articles that utilized different
types of quantitative research designs. Briefly describe each of
the designs that you selected. Remember to focus on how the
research was done not what was studied. Always provide credit
for your sources.
Sampling
Include the types of sampling used in each study to conduct the
chosen research methods. Sampling is “how” the researchers
recruited participants. What type of sampling method was used?
Where and how did the recruitment occur? Who needed to give
permission?
Comparison of Designs
Similarities and Differences
Explain two similarities and two differences between the
designs you selected. Described the similarities and then discuss
the differences.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Describe at least one strength and one limitation of each
design. Clearly identify which design has what strength or
weakness. Support your points.
Comparison Insights
Describe an insight or conclusion you can draw from the
comparison. For example, how might you use the designs? What
populations, interventions, or research problems might be better
suited for one or the other design?
Ethical, Legal and Socio-Cultural Considerations
Explain any ethical, legal, and socio-cultural considerations that
may be relevant for the designs you selected. Remember this
section is ethical, legal, and sociocultural so you need to
discuss all three. In addition, you need to support your points
with scholarly support, such as the ethical code, laws, etc.
Conclusion
Your conclusion section should recap the major points you have
made in your work. However, perhaps more importantly, you
should interpret what you have written and what the bigger
picture is. Remember your paper should be 2 - 3 pages not
counting your title page and reference page. Please do not
exceed three pages of content.
Save your Application as a ".doc" or ".rtf" file with the
filename APP4+your first initial+last name. For example, Sally
Ride’s assignment filename would be "APP4SRide". Use the
"Submit an Assignment" link, choose the Week 4: Application
basket, and then add your Application as an attachment.
References
Always include references. Be sure every reference is in APA
format with a hanging indent. Also, every citation should have
a reference and vice versa. Use the APA manual, the Citation
Guide or some source to verify your format. APA is very
specific about punctuation and how elements of the reference
are presented.

Quantitative Designs
The two most common sources of information using qualitative
research are interviews and sampling methods
. Interviews usually take place in terms of person to person
while sampling method can be conducted through observations
from different places.
Both these methods are less structured and open-ended making
it easy for the researchers to collect information without any
stress. The sampling method incorporates the use of
unsystematic variety for data from the section in order to obtain
assumptions in the study methodology
. Having a method that will aide in determining the population
to use in a research process is effective. The time and effort that
is saved by using the right style of data collection will promote
positive outcomes
of the research. There are several factors that were factored into
the selection; accuracy, quality, details and cost
.
Two Designs
The two most common sources of information using qualitative
research are interviews and sampling methods. Interviews
usually take place in terms of person to person while sampling
method can be conducted through observations from different
places. Both these methods are less structured and open-ended
making it easy for the researchers to collect information without
any stress. Sampling method implicates the use of
indiscriminate assortment of data from various branches to
develop conclusions in a given research means. The sampling
method is considered to be effective in collecting data because
it uses as a quantity of a populace that is included in a given
survey manner. Selecting the right data collection method will
save time when reviewing the analysis outcomes
.
Sampling
In the research process a researcher can use sampling design
and ensure internal validity. However, researchers usually look
for external validity when using traditional survey methods.
Most sampling methods look for external validity because the
bond that is between research design and process inevitably
enhances the given validity of the research (Boeije, 2010
).
Comparison of Designs
Similarities and Differences
Both interviews and sampling methods
tend to have major problems and challenges for the researchers.
A limiting factor in the research process is the sample size. This
prevents a researcher from having quality information from the
study. In case of an interview, it is difficult to know how large
the sample should be in order to carry out sufficient research on
specific phenomena. This is because in some cases a researcher
might choose a large population hence making it impossible to
collect data due to time constraints (Silverman, 2010).
Strengths and Weaknesses
Parental behavior emerges as a weakness in any study with
operational similarity
. The objective is then compromised. Construct validity is also
a limitation as it creates issues with an accurate measurement of
the given variables. Moreover, the participants in the research
process understand the significance of the research hence
preventing the researchers from achieving their desired
objectives. Under sampling and over sampling are major
limitations in the research process. In the case of interviews, it
is also difficult to know whether the participants have been
providing quality information for research hence making the
collection of information to be a major challenge (Boeije, 2010
).
Comparison Insights
The main purpose behind interviews is to provide exploration of
motivations, experiences and views on specific matters. Most of
the psychologists today dealing with issues that are a major
challenge for most of the people consider using interviews as
methods of conducting research and analysis.
Ethical, Legal and Socio-Cultural Considerations
Ethical considerations that researchers need to take into
consideration stem from the ACA Code of Ethics 2014. The
sections of the ACA are divided so that researchers are aware of
obligations to themselves, the profession and the client. Section
E directly pertains to the care of a client (American Counseling
Association, 2014). Legal consideations are important to
research. Researchers need to keep confidientality and report
appropriate data
.
Conclusion
To sum it up, psychologists usually consider using qualitative
methods of data analysis in order to provide efficient services
or information to the people. The most common qualitative
methods of analysis are interviews and sampling method. The
two methods are efficient in the collection of information hence
making it easy for people to carry out research analysis
efficiently. Although the two methods can be carried out using
different kinds of designs, it is evident that they are less costly.
Information from either of the two methods is highly reliable by
the researchers since the researchers were directly involved in
the collection of data.

Responsiveness: 1.5 – some description of sampling but no clear
indication concept was understood; no description of designs
Content: 1 – minimal and not well supported or explained
Writing Quality: 2 – lack of citations, difficult to follow many
of the sentences
Total: 4.5
I am happy to help you with the concepts. Make sure you are
listening to the student support sessions. For example, the
student support session explained that you needed to select two
articles and compare the designs. The session also reviewed
what constitutes a quantitative design.
This doesn’t make sense. Interviews are a data collection
method. Sampling is used in all research types and is how the
sample is determined.
You seem to be confused about what sampling is.
I have no idea what this means.
Not necessarily.
What were your sources for this information? Make sure you
are giving credit to the authors from whom you learned the
material.
You were supposed to select two peer reviewed journal
articles with quantitative designs and describe the research
designs used in each study.
You were to describe the sampling used in the two articles
that should have been selected.
These are elements of a design but are not design types.
There are many types of quantitative research designs:
descriptive, experimental, quasi-experimental, etc. And even
within each of these designs, there are subtypes such as under
quasi-experimental there are post-test, pre and post test, time
series, etc.
I am not sure what this is related to and how this relates to the
paper.
I am really quite lost on what you are writing here. You seem
to be very confused about these concepts.
You need to discuss ethical, legal, and socicocultural
considerations specific to the topic(s) of the week.

Running head QUANTITATIVE DESIGNS1Quantitative DesignsStu.docx

  • 1. Running head: QUANTITATIVE DESIGNS 1 Quantitative Designs Student Name Here Walden University Quantitative Designs Provide a brief introduction to your paper here. The title serves as your introductory heading no need for a heading titled “Introduction.” Two Designs Select two peer reviewed journal articles that utilized different types of quantitative research designs. Briefly describe each of the designs that you selected. Remember to focus on how the research was done not what was studied. Always provide credit for your sources. Sampling Include the types of sampling used in each study to conduct the chosen research methods. Sampling is “how” the researchers recruited participants. What type of sampling method was used? Where and how did the recruitment occur? Who needed to give permission? Comparison of Designs Similarities and Differences Explain two similarities and two differences between the designs you selected. Described the similarities and then discuss the differences. Strengths and Weaknesses
  • 2. Describe at least one strength and one limitation of each design. Clearly identify which design has what strength or weakness. Support your points. Comparison Insights Describe an insight or conclusion you can draw from the comparison. For example, how might you use the designs? What populations, interventions, or research problems might be better suited for one or the other design? Ethical, Legal and Socio-Cultural Considerations Explain any ethical, legal, and socio-cultural considerations that may be relevant for the designs you selected. Remember this section is ethical, legal, and sociocultural so you need to discuss all three. In addition, you need to support your points with scholarly support, such as the ethical code, laws, etc. Conclusion Your conclusion section should recap the major points you have made in your work. However, perhaps more importantly, you should interpret what you have written and what the bigger picture is. Remember your paper should be 2 - 3 pages not counting your title page and reference page. Please do not exceed three pages of content. Save your Application as a ".doc" or ".rtf" file with the filename APP4+your first initial+last name. For example, Sally Ride’s assignment filename would be "APP4SRide". Use the "Submit an Assignment" link, choose the Week 4: Application basket, and then add your Application as an attachment. References Always include references. Be sure every reference is in APA format with a hanging indent. Also, every citation should have a reference and vice versa. Use the APA manual, the Citation Guide or some source to verify your format. APA is very specific about punctuation and how elements of the reference

Running head: QUANTITATIVE DESIGNS 1 Quantitative Designs Cynthia Morris Walden University Quantitative Designs The two most common sources of information using qualitative research are interviews and sampling methods . Interviews usually take place in terms of person to person while sampling method can be conducted through observations from different places. Both these methods are less structured and open-ended making it easy for the researchers to collect information without any stress. The sampling method incorporates the use of unsystematic variety for data from the section in order to obtain assumptions in the study methodology . Having a method that will aide in determining the population to use in a research process is effective. The time and effort that is saved by using the right style of data collection will promote positive outcomes of the research. There are several factors that were factored into the selection; accuracy, quality, details and cost . Two Designs The two most common sources of information using qualitative research are interviews and sampling methods. Interviews usually take place in terms of person to person while sampling method can be conducted through observations from different places. Both these methods are less structured and open-ended making it easy for the researchers to collect information without any stress. Sampling method implicates the use of
  • 4. indiscriminate assortment of data from various branches to develop conclusions in a given research means. The sampling method is considered to be effective in collecting data because it uses as a quantity of a populace that is included in a given survey manner. Selecting the right data collection method will save time when reviewing the analysis outcomes . Sampling In the research process a researcher can use sampling design and ensure internal validity. However, researchers usually look for external validity when using traditional survey methods. Most sampling methods look for external validity because the bond that is between research design and process inevitably enhances the given validity of the research (Boeije, 2010 ). Comparison of Designs Similarities and Differences Both interviews and sampling methods tend to have major problems and challenges for the researchers. A limiting factor in the research process is the sample size. This prevents a researcher from having quality information from the study. In case of an interview, it is difficult to know how large the sample should be in order to carry out sufficient research on specific phenomena. This is because in some cases a researcher might choose a large population hence making it impossible to collect data due to time constraints (Silverman, 2010). Strengths and Weaknesses Parental behavior emerges as a weakness in any study with operational similarity . The objective is then compromised. Construct validity is also a limitation as it creates issues with an accurate measurement of
  • 5. the given variables. Moreover, the participants in the research process understand the significance of the research hence preventing the researchers from achieving their desired objectives. Under sampling and over sampling are major limitations in the research process. In the case of interviews, it is also difficult to know whether the participants have been providing quality information for research hence making the collection of information to be a major challenge (Boeije, 2010 ). Comparison Insights The main purpose behind interviews is to provide exploration of motivations, experiences and views on specific matters. Most of the psychologists today dealing with issues that are a major challenge for most of the people consider using interviews as methods of conducting research and analysis. Ethical, Legal and Socio-Cultural Considerations Ethical considerations that researchers need to take into consideration stem from the ACA Code of Ethics 2014. The sections of the ACA are divided so that researchers are aware of obligations to themselves, the profession and the client. Section E directly pertains to the care of a client (American Counseling Association, 2014). Legal consideations are important to research. Researchers need to keep confidientality and report appropriate data . Conclusion To sum it up, psychologists usually consider using qualitative methods of data analysis in order to provide efficient services or information to the people. The most common qualitative methods of analysis are interviews and sampling method. The two methods are efficient in the collection of information hence making it easy for people to carry out research analysis efficiently. Although the two methods can be carried out using
  • 6. different kinds of designs, it is evident that they are less costly. Information from either of the two methods is highly reliable by the researchers since the researchers were directly involved in the collection of data. References American Counseling Association. Los Angeles: Sage. Silverman, D. (2013). Doing Qualitative Research: A Practical Handbook. Thousand Oaks: Sage. Responsiveness: 1.5 – some description of sampling but no clear indication concept was understood; no description of designs Content: 1 – minimal and not well supported or explained Writing Quality: 2 – lack of citations, difficult to follow many of the sentences Total: 4.5 I am happy to help you with the concepts. Make sure you are listening to the student support sessions. For example, the student support session explained that you needed to select two articles and compare the designs. The session also reviewed what constitutes a quantitative design. This doesn’t make sense. Interviews are a data collection method. Sampling is used in all research types and is how the sample is determined. You seem to be confused about what sampling is.
  • 7. I have no idea what this means. Not necessarily. What were your sources for this information? Make sure you are giving credit to the authors from whom you learned the material. You were supposed to select two peer reviewed journal articles with quantitative designs and describe the research designs used in each study. You were to describe the sampling used in the two articles that should have been selected. These are elements of a design but are not design types. There are many types of quantitative research designs: descriptive, experimental, quasi-experimental, etc. And even within each of these designs, there are subtypes such as under quasi-experimental there are post-test, pre and post test, time series, etc. I am not sure what this is related to and how this relates to the paper. I am really quite lost on what you are writing here. You seem to be very confused about these concepts.
  • 8. You need to discuss ethical, legal, and socicocultural considerations specific to the topic(s) of the week.
