Problems Faced in the Medical Industries
Executive Summary
It is important for all health care professionals to ensure that due care is provides to them. This requires all qualified medical doctors give patients the time for diagnosis and subsequent treatment. In many health care centers, doctors may be overwhelmed leading to cases where their assistants have to step in and take over their role. In the process, this may compromise the quality of care accorded to the patients and may have significant ramifications legally and otherwise. There are, however, certain measures that can be taken to deal with this problem. One such measure rests on restructuring the system in a manner which the PA’s see them first and do the initial assessment, and then one of the doctors do the final assessment. This might mean cutting down the number of patients seen per day so that the PA’s and Doctors can better focus on taking good care of the ones they do see. This proposal will examine who this system will be implemented in a selected health care center highlighting the benefits that accrue from it.
Purpose
At Family Healthcare Associates, Inc. Physicians and their assistants have always been challenged with huge number of patients in their clinics. The aim of this strategy is to reduce the cost of operation for the clinic due to huge medical expenses available in the market today. Senior management needs to adopt a business like strategy to ensure the clinic remain a float and doctors have enough time to focus on each patient per specific period of time (Fattal, 2011).
Problem
The cost of maintaining Family Healthcare Associates, Inc. has also been a challenge due to increase in salaries and financial packages. These increases in financial expenditure by the clinic have made it impossible to manage doctor-patient relationship that most clinics have set standards for. These challenges can pose a threat to the health of many patients who require immediate medical attention on time. The Doctors have such a busy schedule that they do not have the personal one on one relationships with any of their patients that they need to have in order to fully know what is going on with their patients.
One of the most common scenarios where patients and doctors experience these challenges happens during emergencies. Doctors have to abandon their current patients in order to attend to more urgent emergencies of another patient (Gropper, 2009). This isn’t always a big problem in small clinics today, but it does happen from time to time. Sometimes doctors can leave the patient unattended for a long time which can cause health care problems for the patient in the future.
Sometimes doctors and other medica.

Executive Summary

however, certain measures that can be taken to deal with this
problem. One such measure rests on restructuring the system in
a manner which the PA’s see them first and do the initial

This might mean cutting down the number of patients seen per
day so that the PA’s and Doctors can better focus on taking
good care of the ones they do see. This proposal will examine
who this system will be implemented in a selected health care
center highlighting the benefits that accrue from it.
Purpose
At Family Healthcare Associates, Inc. Physicians and their
assistants have always been challenged with huge number of
patients in their clinics. The aim of this strategy is to reduce the
cost of operation for the clinic due to huge medical expenses
available in the market today. Senior management needs to
adopt a business like strategy to ensure the clinic remain a float
and doctors have enough time to focus on each patient per
specific period of time (Fattal, 2011).
Problem
The cost of maintaining Family Healthcare Associates, Inc. has
also been a challenge due to increase in salaries and financial
packages. These increases in financial expenditure by the clinic
have made it impossible to manage doctor-patient relationship
that most clinics have set standards for. These challenges can
pose a threat to the health of many patients who require
immediate medical attention on time. The Doctors have such a
busy schedule that they do not have the personal one on one
relationships with any of their patients that they need to have in
order to fully know what is going on with their patients.
One of the most common scenarios where patients and doctors
experience these challenges happens during emergencies.
Doctors have to abandon their current patients in order to attend
to more urgent emergencies of another patient (Gropper, 2009).
3. This isn’t always a big problem in small clinics today, but it
does happen from time to time. Sometimes doctors can leave the
patient unattended for a long time which can cause health care
problems for the patient in the future.
Sometimes doctors and other medical staff will have to rush
medical visits in order to keep up with the huge number of
patients waiting for their services (Whitney, 2012). This can be
a dangerous procedure and doctors might misdiagnose the
patient which might lead to more health care problems in the
future. Inaccurate diagnosis for many patients is common and
partly due to the fact that doctors do not spend enough time
understanding the patient’s symptoms, the doctor may provide
inaccurate recommendation that can prove fatal for the patient’s
health.
In the medical field, doctors must always ensure they get
enough information on the problems of the patient before
providing recommendations. This process usually takes long
period of time and many patients have to wait until the previous
patient is well diagnosed. Huge numbers of patients waiting for
doctor’s appointment take hours and that means doctors have to
work long hours.
The lack of time to administer proper medical attention can
prove harmful for the healthcare of the patient. Patients have to
check regularly with the doctors and other medical staff to
ensure proper medical checkups at all times. This will mean
increase in the time spent in the clinic, and maybe mean more
visits. With the increase in numbers of patients every year,
patients suffer a lot waiting to be diagnosed by the available
few doctors and medical staff. Patients with more urgent
medical attention are always attend to first and are considered
the main priority for the healthcare professions.
The large increase in numbers of patients and the time waiting
to see the doctor can easily discourage patients. They know that
the clinic is flooded with patients that require medical attention
and depending on the time arrivals, they have to sit back and
wait till their time arrives. Also, the huge numbers of patients
4. and insufficient medical staff to attend to all patients in the
clinic have overworked many healthcare professionals. The lack
of special attention to the needs of the medical staff have also
affected their performance and also discouraged their morale to
work. These scenarios have reduced the need to provide proper
medical attention to the patients in these clinics. The increase in
number of hours to attend to each client or patient have also
forced medical professions to hike their consultation fees
making the medical care expensive and inaccessible. Some
doctors also miss out on their personal needs such as family
time which has affected their lifestyle and also mental capacity
to attend to their patients. Like any other employee, medical
staff also requires motivation and vacations with their families.
Family Healthcare Associates, Inc. needs to come with solutions
to these problems outlined. Medical care in the world should be
easily accessible to all and also properly managed. The right to
proper medical attention and accessible healthcare is being
compromised and organizations should provide necessary
arrangements to improve the processes in the healthcare
industries. The local authorities should seize control of the
medical industry and employ techniques that can reduce cost of
medical care to improve healthcare accessibility.
Solution
s
There are many solutions to these problems that are commonly
ignored by healthcare professionals and medical experts. The
first step is the government should provide medical subsidies
and tax reduction on medical products that are sold to health
centers around the world. Medical products are the core issue
5. for the huge medical expenses that many clinics incur every
year. This in turn affects all other factors that play a critical
role in the medical service industry. When governments reduce
taxes on medical products and subsidies prices, clinics will find
enough money to allocate to employing more medical staff to
meet the huge demand for medical care. Doctors will have
enough time to cater for every patient and conduct a proper
diagnosis that can save the patient’s life.
Medical policies are around the world usually do not favor the
patients and healthcare providers. New policies should be
introduced that extends the periods of doctor-patient interaction
during medical visits. Also the policies should provide a
standard doctor to patient ratio that tends to ensure doctors
focus on a client for a period of time required for the diagnosis.
This will ensure proper diagnosis and treatment procedures are
met on time.
