PROJECT ESTIMATING AND BUDGETING
Summary of the project
The project, in this case, is the automation of the cement manufacturing process. Cement manufacturing is a long process that utilizes many steps, many resources are used and this implies that the manufacturing companies have to spend a lot. ABC Limited manufactures cement but utilizes a manual process. The project involves automation and computerization of the process to make sure the use efficiency and effectiveness. The project involves the use of state-of-the-art equipment and computers to boost the manufacturing process.
1. Goals and objectives
The first goal of the project is to increase the production volume of the cement. The project intends to enable the company to triple its production volume. The second goal is to improve the quality of the products or the cement that the company manufactures. The product should be able to meet and surpass the expectations of the market. The third goal is to boost environmental friendliness. Currently, the company pollutes the environment through its manufacturing process and the project looks forward to eliminating this problem.
The first project objective is to install high capacity machinery that will enable the company to triple its production volume. For a company to increase its production volume it is necessary to modify its manufacturing process (Walker, 2015). The second objective is to utilize state-of-the-art quality control equipment and computers which will make sure the final product is of the desired quality. The third project objective is to utilize green energy so that the impact on the environment is reduced or eliminated. The project intends to utilize solar and wind energy in the manufacturing process.
2. The key customer and the stakeholders
The key customer is ABC Limited. This is a client whom the project will be delivered to. Whenever a project is being executed, there is a customer or a client that will use the completed project for their own benefits (Rose, 2003). In this case, ABC Limited is the customer who saw the need for improving its manufacturing processes and contracted the project to specialists to enable them to deliver it. The customer is responsible for providing details that should be addressed by the project. They provide information about what is currently available as well as what they would expect. This enables the project team to understand what they need to do to meet the needs of the customer so that they can design appropriately.
Apart from the customer who the project is being delivered to, there are also other stakeholders involved in the project. One of the major stakeholders is the supplier of the equipment and the materials required in the project. This is a key stakeholder because their contribution directly affects the project ...

Due Date: Week 5 – Monday 5:00 pm
Weight: 10%
This is an individual assignment. There is an expectation that no two submissions will be the same.
Objectives
This assessment task relates to the following course objectives:
Observe real world information technology problems and apply project management
principles and techniques to solve these problems;
Employ a systems thinking approach to identify critical roles and stakeholders in
information technology projects;
Demonstrate decision-making processes to solve a range of information technology
project issues;
Utilise a range of organisational and self-management skills, emulating real world
practice of information technology project managers.
value the importance of effective communication to solve problems on information
technology projects
Task
During the Project Initiation phase, an important artefact is the Project Charter. This artefact clearly indicates
for the project team and all stakeholders the project objectives, scope and vision. In this assignment, you are
provided with a case study project description below. You will create a Project Charter for this project that
will be managed following the adaptive methodology of Agile Scrum. In a project managed using
traditional project management methodologies, the Charter would be a document of just a few pages (around
4) formally outlining the key objectives, schedule and stakeholders. In an Agile project, this artefact would
be displayed in the project team room.
Background
After top management determines which projects to pursue, then it becomes important to notify the organisation
about the projects. The Project Charter is used to authorise the project and nominate the project manager. The
Project Charter formally recognises the project and provides a summary of the details of the project.

Select one (1) of the types of project organization that would suit the development of the larger touring class motorcycles.
The project management organization I would use for this instance is pure project management organization. This helps to separate this project from the home company. It will be an independent segment. It will have its own technical staff and administration, which would be linked to the home company's administration. However, these links will not be strong, and it will enjoy some autonomy. This segment will be able to prepare its own reports on how the project is advancing, make minor purchases, and deliveries without consulting the home company. This will be in order to quicken the development of the motorcycles. The project manager is the head of this segment he will bear full responsibility for the project, although he will report to the senior staff at the home company. This decentralization will also lead to better communication in this segment as the project manager will be able to make some decisions without consulting senior staff in the home company.
Outline the process steps that your company would take in order to develop the motorcycle. Provide a rationale for the response.
1. Team Assembly
The team tasked with assembling the motorcycles has already been assembled. This team could be selected from within the home company, or in this case of the skilled labour, experts from outside could be included. The team should have representatives from the clients, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to give their opinions and views on the development of the motorcycles (Archbold).
2. Definition of Project Objective
Once the team is together, it should come up with a clear purpose and objectives to carry out the project. A phase-exit review should also be conducted to determine whether the project should continue to the next phase (Archbold).
3. Definition of Project Scope
The team should develop an appropriate Work Breakdown Structure. This will ensure that all the stakeholders in the project understand what's expected to be done throughout the span of the project (Kerzner, 2013, p.529). Ensuring the project's divided into small manageable sub-projects will assist with an easier completion of the project.
4. Initial Plan
The tasks in the Work Breakdown Structure should be organized into logical network diagrams. Estimated durations should also be attached to the individual activities in the network diagrams. These include the earliest start times and latest finish times. This information will help the project manager to estimate the completion times of the projects and assess the feasibility of the targeted days (Kerzner, 2013, p. 537). Software Implementation Portfolio Project
Abstract/Executive summary:
The purpose of this project is to implement new software into the company to increase productivity. The company uses its current software to create logos, labels, and many other things for large companies. The other goals are to update the protection on the software because in the past there have been a few problems with the security of the software and the information on the software. Another important goal is to have the computers and memory updated to work more efficiently that before. The software has been slow and has not been able to keep up with the new graphics needed for the current projects. The software will crash and then be down for days or longer. This is causing loss of customers and over all bad for the company.
The overall goal for this project is for the new software to be installed, working properly, and producing the power needed to create the projects for the company. I, as the project manager have decided to do agile methodology for the project. There have been multiple projects prior to this one done the same way and it seemed to go well for the company. The project is set to start August eight, so in just a few days and everything is going as planned. The deadline for this project is December twelfth. The project should be about one hundred days long from begging to end. The budget for this project is two hundred fifty thousand dollars and it is being estimated at just over two twenty-four thousand dollars. There is a continuity budget of twenty thousand dollars.
Work Breakdown Structure
Activity/Network Diagram:
Due to space the rest of the Network diagram will be submitted in MS project form. To view critical path, logical relationships, lead/lag, and ES/EF/LS/LF will be easier to view in MS project as well.
Schedule and Budget:
To look at the schedule and budget more in depth and to view the rest of it please view microsoft project.
Change Management Plan:
This project will be an agile project methodology. Since this projec is agile methodology there will be a lot of change and will need to be processes in place to manage the changes. One important tool that will be used to keep up with changes is a change request form. This form will help state what is needed and why and all of the details for the change. Anther important tool is managing the triple constraint of the scope, budget, and quality of the project. When changes come these things will change too. Manging these things can help keep the project from risks and other problems.
The process that will be used for this project is the John Kotters eight-step change process. It consists of eight steps to guide and lead change in a project. The first step is creating urgency. This is basically like triaging the changes by determinng which ones are most important and need to happen sooner than less important ch ...

I am writing this memorandum with regard to the backpack project so as to address various issues associated with the project. The backpack project involves the design and development of backpacks with a refrigerated pouch and radio modules for the United States Military that is the ground forces and the special operations forces. The project goes for one and a half years from September 1st 2015 to March 1st 2017. However, the required units of backpacks will be delivered to the client in stages that will include the first delivery of 100 units and other subsequent 50 units after every three months. Also, the project will be completed in milestones that will allow for review of the project as well as successful completion of the project.
Initial Assessments of the Project
As the project manager, my initial assessment action items for the project are preparations to ensure that all the requirements are kept in place to facilitate the effective and timely delivery of the products as required by the client. The other action item is to ensure that a proper budget is developed for the project is developed with estimates of materials and other costs to be involved in the project. Budgeting will facilitate the completion of the project within the proposed award therefore ensuring that the project will be beneficial for the organization. The third action item with regard to the military backpack project is ensuring that all the processes and activities are well coordinated to promote the meeting of deadlines and to ensure that activities rhyme with the delivery schedule for the project.
Risks of the Project
Among the main concerns or rather risks with the project include the underestimation of the costs associated with the project or the use of more funds than the proposed award on completion of the project. In order to solve this issue, a proper budget with cost estimates for the project will be developed to ensure that the costs of different items will be monitored to avoid the risk. The other issue with th.

Check this scenario out. Long term care can consists of servicing patients need at a patient's home, providing meals, transportation and in home therapy. Some long term care is within the home and some can be rehab. Lets say there is a growing need to extend those services to our growing need in elderly population. Part of that need is a demand for servicing the increasing population of the Hispanic community. We as a team need to meet with a cross- functional management team that can relay the need and services outside of the facility. We need hired people who are bilingual that can work the call center, deliver food, offer in home therapy, and provide transportation.
Our audience will be the new management team. Each member of the coordination of care team of management will cover or be responsible for one of those areas. Our standpoint will be that we are the board of directors that would be talking with them.

In your post, identify your thesis and the sources you used to prove your argument. Discuss how you came to define Mississippi and what conclusions you made about the state. Make sure to point out the general areas of History that you discuss and what events, people, or ideas were especially important to your interpretation of Mississippi History. What readings, from Bond, Busbee, or another source you found, profoundly influenced your view of the state? Overall, has your view of Mississippi changed or mostly stayed the same? What can we learn about Mississippi today from your paper? Is Mississippi as a "closed society" (Silver, 1964) an accurate way to look at the state? Has this been true at some point in the past, but is no longer true? What time period is most crucial to understanding Mississippi and best defines it?

250 words discussion not an assignement
The purpose of this discussion is to gain a more complete awareness of the extent of socio-environmental influences impacting the development of adolescents. Triandis (as cited in Coon and Kemmelmeier, 2001) states, "Individualism and collectivism are broadly defined cultural syndromes that encompass a number of elements, including values, norms, goals, and behaviors" (Coon and Kemmelmeier, 2001, p. 348).
Consider the audio piece in this unit's studies (also linked in the Resources) that compares two teens' viewpoints of life within their cultural domains. This piece highlights the impact of family, community, and cultural beliefs and values on an individual's development. For your initial post in this discussion, explore these influences by addressing the following questions:
How does exposure to media influence the manner in which adolescents develop?
How does exposure to peers influence development in both systems?
Using the reading from the textbook on risky behaviors, how might adolescents' influences and understanding of risk be different, based on their culture and expectations of self?
The optional reading in this unit's studies may provide additional information to support your post, if you choose to use it.
Response Guidelines
Respond to one learner by supporting his or her analysis of the two teens with additional information you have acquired outside of the textbook. Cite and reference your source with proper APA formatting. Be sure to address concepts in the post and find any similarities in your thinking as well.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

improve the quality of the products or the cement that the
company manufactures. The product should be able to meet and
surpass the expectations of the market. The third goal is to
boost environmental friendliness. Currently, the company
pollutes the environment through its manufacturing process and
the project looks forward to eliminating this problem.
The first project objective is to install high capacity machinery
that will enable the company to triple its production volume.
For a company to increase its production volume it is necessary
to modify its manufacturing process (Walker, 2015). The second
objective is to utilize state-of-the-art quality control equipment
and computers which will make sure the final product is of the
desired quality. The third project objective is to utilize green
energy so that the impact on the environment is reduced or
eliminated. The project intends to utilize solar and wind energy
in the manufacturing process.
2. The key customer and the stakeholders
The key customer is ABC Limited. This is a client whom the
project will be delivered to. Whenever a project is being
executed, there is a customer or a client that will use the
completed project for their own benefits (Rose, 2003). In this
case, ABC Limited is the customer who saw the need for
improving its manufacturing processes and contracted the
project to specialists to enable them to deliver it. The customer
is responsible for providing details that should be addressed by
the project. They provide information about what is currently
available as well as what they would expect. This enables the
project team to understand what they need to do to meet the
needs of the customer so that they can design appropriately.
Apart from the customer who the project is being delivered to,
there are also other stakeholders involved in the project. One of
the major stakeholders is the supplier of the equipment and the
materials required in the project. This is a key stakeholder
because their contribution directly affects the project and its
3. delivery. The project team has to provide details on the specific
materials and equipment that they need from the supplier to
make sure the project is successful (Rose, 2003). The supplier
has the responsibility of availing all the required items on time
so that the project is delivered as planned.
The second stakeholder in the project is the local government
whose major role is to make sure the product is being delivered
according to the set standards. The local government is
responsible for assessing the project and determining whether or
not it is been conducted according to the regulations. This will
determine whether or not the project team will be given a permit
to go on with the process. The local government will also
conduct periodic checks to ascertain that the project is being
executed in the right manner.
3. Key milestones
i. Decisions
Decisions are an integral part of project milestones. It is
important to get the decisions right because they affect the
delivery of the project (Schwalbe, 2015). This project is
concerned with the automation and computerization of the
manufacturing process in a cement manufacturing company and
it involves many decisions. It is the responsibility of the project
team to make the right decisions all the time for the interest of
succeeding in its endeavor. Among the decisions that should be
made is the selection of the suppliers of various items and
materials needed for the project. This is considered a milestone
due to its direct impact on the project.
ii. Planning
Planning is also considered a milestone because it is a basic
requirement for the delivery of the project. It is important for
the project team to understand the sequence of events and
activities and how long they should last. The planning has to be
efficient and effective to make sure the project is effectively
delivered. The project manager should seek the input of others
through consultation so as to effectively plan for the project.
iii. Communication
4. Communication plays an important part in project management
and it is a tool that project managers need to utilize effectively
(Schwalbe, 2015). It is a milestone in the sense that it
determines how information is delivered and understood by
different stakeholders in the project. Effective communication
strategies should be used throughout the project to make sure
each stakeholder plays their part and understands what is going
on.

6. Release
As the timeline shows, there will be six major tasks involved in
this project. Each task is assigned to its own time within which
it should be completed. It is the responsibilities of the project
team to make sure tasks are executed as stipulated so that the
project does not delay (Harpham, 2017).
5. Project cost, staffing, and non-staffing resources
The total cost of the project is $4 million. This amount will
cater to everything including the purchase of various materials
and items needed for the project as well as paying the different
experts and the entire project team that will be involved in the
project. As far as staffing is concerned, it is the responsibility
of ABC Limited and the project team to consult and determine
the kind of experts and specialists that should be brought on
board to be part of the staff for the project. The non-staff
resources needed in this project involve non-specialists who
will be tasked to care of minor issues that do not need any
special or specific skills.
